Below is our complete Kittie news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Kittie's bass player Trish Doan has passed away at the age of 31. The band issued this brief statement about her death:
"It is with immeasurable sadness that we share news of the passing of our sister and best friend Trish Doan. Finding the right words is tough. She was so bright and vibrant and talented and we loved her and still do. She was so much more than just a musician or member of the band.
"She was our blood, our sister and family. Finding our way without her will be challenging, like a ship without a lighthouse, and we are devastated. We ask that you please respect our privacy and her family's privacy during this difficult time." More...
Kittie drummer Mercedes Lander‘s doom band The White Swan premieres the pre-release full-album stream of the band's upcoming debut EP "Anubis", due out in stores November 01 via Bandcamp.

Kittie will release a career spanning documentary next year, with a first teaser trailer set to drop on September 25 in London, Ontario at the historic Hyland Cinema in conjunction with the Canadian Premiere of “Nintendo Quest: The Most Unofficial and Unauthorized Nintendo Documentary Ever.” The trailer will appear online after the screening on the band’s Facebook page.
"We are absolutely elated to be able to tell the band's colorful history through the many people that were involved throughout the years," says Kittie. "This project has been a labour of love for the last year and a half and we are excited that things are finally coming together. I'm sure people will be shocked, and maybe even a little astonished when our collective story is told. It has been a wild ride! Thank you to everyone who donated to the IndieGoGo campaign, who made this possible!"
The movie is directed by Rob McCallum who adds his own comments, “It’s been an awesome adventure discovering the real story of the band. You think you’ve got the story sorted out from what you can research online only to realize that everything on you thought you knew is only contorted fragments and a cracked reflection of the ultimate reality. The film charts the career of the heavy metal act from 1996 to present day from their perspective, as it’s clear that they’ve never been given a platform to share their story in their words, and in their own voice
"In addition to the band’s specific history, the documentary looks at the evolution in the music industry, gender and color politics in music, and, the backlash of success. Whether you’re familiar with the band or not, this is a universal story that touches on themes of self worth, living up to exceptions of others, the necessity of goals, and the importance of family. It’s a roller coaster ride that will get you to question and consider your own life in a different light. It’s an important film and I’m lucky that I have the chance share it with the world."
Following Otep dropping off the Civil Unrest tour after accusing a member of Terror Universal of sexual harrasment, Ill Nino has now issued the following statement about the tour going on without either group:
"Ill Nino does not condone any forced act of violence or sexual nature towards any human beings, nor will we tolerate violations of one's personal space.
"This also goes for cyber-bullying, or making demeaning comments towards ANYONE on social media. We strongly support equality for all.
"We would like to draw closure by stating that the Civil Unrest Tour will continue without participation from either Otep or Terror Universal. We're looking forward to hitting the road, reuniting with our fans and friends, and also sharing the stage with our tour brothers, and sisters, Kittie & 36 Crazyfists. Stay tuned, more bands to be added!!"
The Canadian metal veterans in Kittie have announced a crowd funding campaign for a career spanning documentary DVD featuring all past and present band members.
In addition, the band plans to include a yet-to-be-titled official biography and has confirmed author Mark Eglinton to write the memoir. Eglington is best known for his co-authored book, "Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera," which was released last year.

Kittie is pleased to announce the return of bassist Trish Doan to the band following the departure of Ivy Vujic. Doan was previously with the band from 2005-2007, appearing on the group's 2007 release "Funeral for Yesterday."
Ivy adds her own words, "After four amazing years of jamming with my crazy metal sisters, I am officially resigning. After a lot of touring and two albums, I feel it is time for me to move on. There are still other things for me to do in my life. Although I will always appreciate Kittie and the amazing fans we have, it does not fit my plans right now."
Trish will join the band live after the upcoming Soundwave Festival appearance in Australia and upcoming hometown shows later this month are completed. Doan comments,
"I am very happy to be reunited with the Kittie family. The girls and I have remained close friends over the last 7 years and I am excited to have this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing everyone when we go back on the road this spring. I wish Ivy all the best!" More...

Although it wasn't expected until December, the organizers of Australia's Soundwave Festival have made their second band announcement. Joining the 60 bands already announced are Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, Kittie, and 14 other (mostly non-metal) bands.
Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."
A third announcement in early December will add another five bands to the lineup, and Danzig is one of the confirmed possibilities. More...

Kittie has posted a music video online for the song "Empires (Part 2)," which can be viewed below. Front woman Morgan Lander offers her own words: "'Empires (Part 2)' is the second half, and more frantic portion of a two part idea. Part 1 is the acoustic calm before the storm while Part 2 is a full on hurricane. The subject matter likens a union or relationship to the idea of a great empire and as history has taught us; even the most mighty and powerful of empires crumble and fall eventually. Nothing is forever."
"Empires Part 2" is taken off Kittie's upcoming album "I've Failed You," which is set for an August 30th release date through eOne music.
