Bill, the drummer of NY metal band, Malstrom, has issued the following statement regarding the ending of his band:
"Well folks, after 7 years, a demo, two records, and dozens of shows it's time for me to hang up this project. Having spent the past 3.5 years dealing with a never ending plague of lineup changes, it is painfully obvious that there isn't really support out there to learn this music, let alone take it out on the road and perform it. Nonetheless, we'd like to thank all the folks who've helped us out over the years including band members, radio stations, webzines, promoters, studios, other bands, and friends coming out to our shows (when we were playing them) over the past few years. Whether or not any of us goes on to better things, it was fun the few times things were working with this project." More...
Drummer Bill of NY metallers, Malstrom, has issued the following update:
"While on downtime dealing with the multiple lineup issues we've been having over the past few months while we retool and re-gear for 2009, I've been working with Malstrom alumnus and co-founder Mike Capasso on a new record he has been writing over the past two years. Today I tracked drums for it, and I can now safely say, it'll be a behemoth of a record when it's completed! We're tracking with Kurt Legee (responsible for tracking our Obligated by Obscurity record, as well as guitarist for the criminally unknown and fantastic rock band System Noise) at his Williamsburg based studio Lucid Production. So far this project is featuring three tracks including a mammoth epic clocking in at over 27 minutes. I'll be passing along more details as this project develops, so stay tuned!"
"In Malstrom related news, we will be announcing some major lineup news hopefully over the course of next month, but for now we can announce we are gearing up to take on 2009 with a vengeance to make up our absence for most of 2008!"
New York's Malstrom have issued the following update regarding the departure of their bassist:
"We're disappointed to announce once again that Malstrom is searching for a new bassist. The decision to split with our recently acquired bassist, Rob, was difficult but was ultimately decided to be in the best interests of everyone. We would like to thank Rob for all of his hard work with us and wish him the best. Now we our once again faced with the challenge of finding a new bassist to fill the shoes of another dedicated and competent bassist. As always, if you or someone you know would be interested in working with us, don't hesitate to contact us, we would like to fill the bass vacancy ASAP so we can begin to hit the road again." More...

This new lineup will be premiered at out first show back in NYC at none other than Ace of Clubs on Saturday, July 26th.
