The theme of the third album of these Scandinavians can be described as sum of the major tragedies of mankind’s history. Lyrics for “Tragedy Has Spoken” were written by Pär Johansson (Satariel, Torchbearer, The Few Against Many) and the band’s lead singer Christian Älvestam (also in Solution .45, Torchbearer, ex-Scar Symmetry), and address the diversity of tragedies, some of which have taken the guise of accidents or natural disasters, while others were carried out with human hands and intent.

Lifeforce Records has issued the following announcement about releasing the new album "Tragedy Has Spoken" from Miseration:
"Theory tells that tragedy is a form of drama based on human suffering that invokes in its audience an accompanying catharsis or pleasure in listening. Miseration’s newest album 'Tragedy Has Spoken' follows this path musically and lyrically.
"The theme of the third album of these Scandinavians can be described as sum of the major tragedies of mankind’s history. Lyrics for 'Tragedy Has Spoken' have been written by Pär Johansson (Satariel, Torchbearer, The Few Against Many) and band’s lead singer Christian Älvestam (also in Solution.45, Torchbearer, ex-Scar Symmetry), and address the diversity of tragedies. Some of which have taken the guise of accidents or natural disasters, while others were carried out with human hands and intent. Behind all this there is to find an imaginary architect, a fictive entity – something powerful, aware, far above the manmade concepts of good or evil: the nature of tragedy itself.
"Musically Miseration expand their view on forward-thinking, vicious Death Metal by integrating new instruments to the mix. There still is to find what caused the quality and sustainability of 'Your Demons, Their Angels' (2008) and 'The Mirroring Shadow' (2009), but in 2012 there is more than technical, intricate death metal with a good dose of melody. 'Tragedy Has Spoken' was recorded using 8-string guitars, which gives the wall of distortion a certain distinctive flair. More...
Miseration, which released a music video for "Dreamdecipher" earlier today, has now checked in with the following update about working on the band's new album:
"As for the new album, all the material - 8 songs all in all - is now ready. Christian is currently working on the vocal arrangements, which will once again be based on the brilliant lyrics of Mr. Pär Johansson (Satariel, The Few Against Many). He on his part, has based his lyrics on a conceptual theme, worked out by Christian and him.
"This album will be the first one with Oscar Nilsson behind the drum kit and man, just judging by his efforts on the pre-productional stuff, you may rest assured that this album will contain some insanely cool drumming!
"The recordings will start in February 2012, at the MT studios in Trollhättan/Sweden, with producer Marko Tervonen (The Crown) at the helm."
Swedish melodic death metal band Miseration posted a new music video online for the song "Dreamdecipher." The song appears on the band's latest LP "The Mirroring Shadow" which was released in 2009 through Lifeforce Records.
Check out the video here:
Miseration has issued the following update about recruiting a new drummer:
"Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce you to the latest addition to the Miseration family - Oscar Nilsson! This 22 year old Swedish fellow will from now on be handling the drums. Oscar is also a member of Saint Daemon and Despite. Moreover, he freelances as a drummer and runs his own music-production company, called Freqbeat Music. Watch the attached clip for a first taste of Oscar's amazing ability!"
Miseration also recently announced plans to enter the recording studio. Check out the band's full statement here.
Miseration has checked in with the following update about gearing up to enter the recording studio:
"Hi all! In about 2½ months we will start recording what is going to be our 3rd installment (album-title tba), since the start back in 2006. For this one Marko Tervonen (The Crown) has been tapped to helm production-duties, at his own MT studios, located in Trollhättan, Sweden. Christian and Marko have known each other since the mid-'90s, so this will not be the first time their roads cross each other. For instance, initially, Christian was the second guitarist of Angel Blake, which is another band of Marko's!
"Here is what Mr. Tervonen has to say for himself: 'Fuck yeah, kick ass!!! Looking forward producing the next Miseration album, godamnit! My homeboy Christian Älvestam's band. Not so many people know, but me, Christian and a few others (!, oh so mysterious famous people) actually had a secret project going on around 2003, where we recorded some tunes in the style of Katatonia, Paradise Lost etc… Really good stuff if you ask me, but it (for some reason) stayed in the C: Well, nevertheless. I'm really looking forward getting my hands extra dirty producing their hardcore Death Metal!! Let the motherfucking hammering begin!'
"As for post-production, mastering duities will once again be taken care of by our good friend maestro Plec!
"Last, but not least, we are sad to announce that we have parted ways, on a friendly basis, with our buddy Rolf Pilve. This desicion has nothing to do with personal conflicts or anything like that. This is simply the result of Rolf living in Finland, being a member of several hard-working Finnish bands, unfortunately leaving him very little time to focus on Miseration. This will however not affect any of the other collaborations Rolf, Christian and Jani have got going together. Rolf's replacement will be announced shortly! More news as it happens!"
Miseration has issued the following announcement about working on a new album, recruiting Jani Stefanovic, and parting ways with bassist Johan Ylenstrand:
"Hi all! Sorry for being somewhat absent guys, news-wise and so on. Lately we've gone through some upheavals of rather large proportions, which is why we've deliberately chosen to let silence speak. However, as from today, you can consider this silence a thing of the past!
"So...what's new then...well...for starters, we're no longer a quintet. The last couple of months have been eventful to say the least, documenting several line-up changes, among other things. We'd like to start explaining, by saying welcome back to our good friend Jani Stefanovic. Confused? Well, here follows a statement from Jani himself:
Hello everyone! A short input from my part. As you all have noticed I am back in business again and this feels extremely good. I am so happy that the rest of the guys gave me the benefit of a doubt to come back although I decided to leave awhile ago.
To briefly explain why I left: I was simply in a place in life where I needed to focus on other things, which did not include Miseration. And rather to hold back the band I decided to leave, so that they could carry on without me holding them back from any future plans they had. I was unemployed at that time and had been that for quite some time, which just ate me up. Coming out from a really bad life situation, in every aspect, I needed to recharge my batteries. My life is just great now, being married to a wonderful girl and having a great steady day-time job. In fact, I can't remember the last time I felt this happy.More...
In a lengthy post to their MySpace Page, modern metal super group Solution .45 has announced that second guitarist Jani has decided to quit the band. The band and Jani have split on good terms, and Jani may even contribute some to Solution .45's next album. Jani will be replaced by Patrik Gardberg (Torchbearer, The Few Against Many, Ammotrack). The band's full post can be read below and after the jump:
At the release of our debut album, "For Aeons Past", which we all have worked so very hard on, we have to deliver some sad news to you all. For personal reasons, Jani has decided to part ways with both SOLUTION .45 and MISERATION.
Jani’s official statement can be found right here:
“For several years I have been working with many talented musicians and done many albums in a very short period of time. Music is my passion, but over the last year or so, I have felt that I want to focus more on quality time with friends and family. I do not intend to quit music, but at this point I feel that I am not ready to commit to these bands as much as would be necessary. I just feel that my personal life is striving for something else than the rest of the guys in Solution .45 and Miseration. There´s absolutely no bad blood between us and I do wish both bands great success, cause they are really good, with nothing but quality people in them. Us parting ways has consequently notning to do with musical- or personal differences, or anything like that for that matter. I just feel that this is not my place to be right now. I am very satisfied with the result of both the Solution .45 debut album and the latest one from Miseration and do feel that I can leave with my head held up high." More...

Swedish death metal band MISERATION have finished the recordings to their second album, "The Mirroring Shadow," with Tomas "Plec" Johansson at Panic Room Studios.
The band discusses the new album, "After a few months of intense work we are happy to announce that our new album, 'The Mirroring Shadow,' is now finally recorded and done. We are really proud of what we have accomplished this time and we can't wait to share this newborn baby with you all! Musically it's definitely a step up, intensity- and aggression-wise; also being more technical than its predecessor. Even so, there are still a lot of melodic landscapes there to explore. Put together, this progression both came and felt very natural to us, once the new material started to take shape." More...

ESSENCE OF SORROW, the Finnish band led by DIVINEFIRE guitarist Jani Stefanovic, has posted a demo version of a new song, "Blind Man", on its MySpace page.
ESSENCE OF SORROW released its debut album, "Reflections of the Obscure", in December 2006 in Japan through King Records and in January 2007 in Europe via Rivel Records. The band, initially a solo project, began to take shape during the spring of 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden when Stefanovic started composing intricate music that expressed various feelings through strong melancholic melodies. As time passed, Jani began to expand his vision by transforming his solo project into a full-fledged band. More...
