Australian rock act Sydonia has issued the following update about adding on two final dates to the "Ocean of Storms" tour:
"Sydonia are stoked to announce that they will be concluding their successful "Oceans of Storms" national single tour with two shows in WA. Mixed by the famed Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Trivium etc), the single is a prelude to a much anticipated album to come later in the year.
"Following on from an outstanding run of shows on the east coast with USA numetal legends Korn, and multiple sets at the Woodford Festival in Qld, the Melbourne based percussive alt-metal four piece will be hitting the Amplifier Bar stage on Fri 21st Jan with The Meaning Of, Brutus and Sparring for Shotgun. Then, if you want a second dose, which I'm sure you will, Sydonia will be at Charles Hotel on Sat 22nd with Basically Naked, West of October and Baby Jane. Finally, catch them for an early arvo/evening, doors 5:30pm, @ Mojo's in North Fremantle on Sunday 23rd, supported by Opia, Copious and Arkayan."
Sydonia also recently discussed its upcoming tour schedule in an interview with Metalunderground.com.
Melbourne, Australia’s SYDONIA will be supporting KORN on their forthcoming Australian shows, taking place on December 3rd, 4th and 5th. The band has also been added to three days of the famed Woodford Folk Festival, on December 30th and 31st 2010, and Jan 1st, 2011. The festival is expected to draw over 100,000 fans.
Legendary producer/mixer Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Funeral For a Friend, Bullet for My Valentine, As I Lay Dying, etc.) recently came on board to mix the current single "Ocean of Storms." The single will appear on the band’s official world-wide debut album, along with more never-before-heard tracks (one of which was co-written by STONE SOUR’s Roy Mayorga) being completed now. The album is yet to be named and SYDONIA is presently looking for an album deal.
SYDONIA independently recorded, produced and mixed their Australian debut album "Given To Destroyers" in just two weeks. While the band was touring nationally in their home country, they received a personal invite to tour Australia with LAMB OF GOD after vocalist Randy Blythe heard SYDONIA’s "Given to Destroyers" playing in an Australian record store. SYDONIA was also personally invited to tour the east coast of Australia with STONE SOUR, only to then be invited to tour the United States with the band. In addition, the band has also received personal invites to tour Australia with SLIPKNOT and MACHINE HEAD. This year, SYDONIA toured the east coast of Australia with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME.
