Rudra To Screen New Music Video

Sinpagore based metallers Rudra have issued the following update about premiering the new music video for the track "Hymns From The Blazing Chariot:"

"'Hymns from the Blazing Chariot', our new music video directed by award-winning filmmaker Jacen Tan will premiere at The Substation on 7th Dec 2009, 8pm. Based on the song's lyrics and concept, the explosive music video is a re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text 'The Bhagavad Gita', one of the most important philosophical classics of the world.

"It is a dream come true to make this video, which is a great visual representation of Rudra's music. The video interweaves brutal band performances with storyline battle scenes, created with visual effects compositing and computer animation. Check out the event on Facebook.

"To thank Rudra fans for their years of support, entry is free (pay as you want) for the event on 7 Dec 2009. Limited seats are available, to reserve seats email tickets@hosaywood.com."

Rudra To Re-Issue "The Aryan Crusade"

Trinity Records has issued the following announcement about re-issuing the Rudra album "The Aryan Crusade" with two extra bonus tracks:

"To those who are searching for older albums of Rudra, now is your time to rejoice, because we will be re-issuing their long out of print album, ‘The Aryan Crusade’. And to make it ever more exciting and even worthy for a second buy to those who already have a copy of it, we will be including two exclusive bonus tracks on it. One is a cover of Death’s ‘Forgotten Past’ and the other one is an original entitled ‘Crucifixation’.

"‘The Aryan Crusade’ was Rudra’s sophomore full length album and was originally released on 2001. The controversial title allowed the band to make inroads in using authentic vedic etymology to destroy people’s imaginations of many Vedic words. In the process the album broke new grounds, both lyrically and musically, which won them attention from all parts of the metal world. With many good reviews, this album created a cult following for the band not just in Asia but in other parts of the world as well. In fact, many fans would swear that this is INDEED the definitive VEDIC METAL album."

Rudra Cancels Hong Kong Tour Date

Singapore based metal band Rudra has issued the following announcement about canceling their upcoming show in Hong Kong:

"To the organiser, Hong Kong metalheads and fans of Rudra:

"It is with extreme regret that we, Rudra, had to cancel the concert appearance at Hong Kong scheduled for 11th July 2009 due to the outbreak of the influenza A(H1N1) virus. The number of cases reported in Singapore has been increasing by the day and is travel related. Although there is currently no travel restrictions advised by the World Health Organisation and the local Health Authorities, we were compelled to make this decision in view of the serious implications in the event of an infection. Everyone in the band was looking forward to the show and we were fully prepared to give one of our best shows. It is in our immediate plans to play in Hong Kong as soon as possible when the situation improves. Please accept our humble apologies and we look forward to being with you soon."

Singapore-based metallers, RUDRA, have issued the following update:

"It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the entry of our new guitarist, Vinod. He isn't someone new to Rudra or the Singaporean metal scene. Says Vinod, "It is truly an honour to be chosen and be part of Rudra, a pioneer metal band. The first extreme metal band I listened to that inspired me and made me believe it is possible for local Singaporeans to start a band and be successful. I've known the members for a while. And now being in the band, I'm excited to work with them. Thus looking forward to contribute my part in the upcoming albums."
