Below is our complete Cripple Bastards news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Day two started at the Holiday Inn. The 7th floor of the Holiday Inn hosted the film portion of the festival. There were also a number of vendors associated with the films there. Angelcorpse guitarist Gene Palubicki was one of the vendors on hand. He starred in the movie “American Guinea Pig: Bloodshock,” the second film in the “American Guinea Pig” series. This film had a major buzz about it. Many fans I talked to expressed a desire to see this film and according to Palubicki the Zombie Room wasn’t big enough to accommodate all interested parties. The event featured a Q & A with director Marcus Koch and producer/screenwriter Steven Biro and was moderated by Bill Moseley (“Texas Chainsaw Massacre II, House of 1,000 Corpses).
The band schedule for both the Aztec and Korova was different than the night before when Korova started early in the day, ended, the Aztec started and then the Korova hosted the last band at 12:30 AM. Today, the Korova started at 6 PM and ran concurrently with the Aztec. Austin d-beat punkers Krigblast opened Korova. More punkisms came via Chicago, Illinois’ Kill It Again and many fans gushed at seeing veterans, Fang. The Aztec hosted a day filled with punk rock, too, starting with Poison Idea, Dropdead and Negative Approach. And the grindcore of Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Cripple Bastards also fit into the punk’s gnarled family tree. More...

When one thinks of grindcore, the likelihood is that the first thought will turn to the scene in the United Kingdom that produced the likes of Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Carcass, while the over the pond, some of the genre's best bands such as Brutal Truth and Terrorizer were formed. But grindcore wasn't exclusive to the UK and the US, there was plenty of demand for extreme music in mainland Europe too, and today, we look at one of the more well known names from this era, Italy's own, Cripple Bastards.
Cripple Bastards originally went by the name Grimcorpses and were formed by singer Giulio the Bastard and guitarist Alberto the Crippler, originally as a punk band with some metal influences, before forging a harder style by throwing grindcore into the mix and changing their name to the now familiar moniker, Cripple Bastards. With this new style, they were able to stand out among other bands and bring some attention back to the hardcore scene in Asti, which is around 34 miles east of Turin, and released a string of split EPs and seven inch singles, as well as the EPs, "Life's Built On Thoughts" and "Frammenti di Vita." This November, Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Horror Fest will celebrate its third year of audio and visual bedlam. Set to commence in San Antonio, Texas at the Aztec Theater (201 E Commerce St.) on November 13th -15th, 2015, the horror-themed film and metal gala promises to be louder, gorier and more bludgeoning than ever before boasting two film-screening rooms, multiple vendors, special artist signings throughout the weekend and what's morphing into one of the most debilitating lineups of the year!
Already stacked with a crushing bill that includes Agoraphobic Nosebleed performing their second show ever, Corrosion Of Conformity featuring Pepper Keenan, Claudio Simonetti's Goblin doing a live score of George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, Superjoint, Eyehategod, Nails, Crowbar, Dropdead, Autopsy, Poison Idea, and so many others, the gatekeepers of Housecore Horror Fest today welcome the additions of thrash metal icons, Exodus, veteran death metal legion, Incantation, apocalyptic hardcore punk unit, Gasmiasma, atmospheric drone doom duo, Muscle And Marrow and theatrical heavy metal legend King Diamond whose performance will feature 1987 quintessential second full-length, Abigail, in its harrowing entirety! As an added bonus, Gwar's fabled Sleazy P. Martini will also be attending the annual gathering as a special guest!
And the awesome won't stop there. The fest has expanded the range of its grotesqueries, with a second stage located just steps away from the Aztec Theater. The Korova, at 107 E. Martin St. in San Antonio, will play host to even MORE bands throughout the weekend. Stay tuned for additional band announcements for The Korova in the coming weeks.
Comments Anselmo: "I am beyond excited to announce that the mighty King Diamond will be attacking the house on Friday the 13th at the Housecore Horror Festival. All hail the King."
Adds Maryland Deathfest co-founder Ryan Taylor, who's shaping this year's HHF lineup alongside Anselmo: "It's been a lot of fun piecing together this lineup with Philip. It's gonna be a wild one, so get your tickets while you still can!" More...

Metal frontman and Housecore Records founder, Philip H. Anselmo, is bringing his horror-themed film and metal festival back for a third year. After a great ride in Austin, the festival will kick off in San Antonio, Texas at the Aztec Theater on November 13th -15th, 2015.
The decision to return was driven by the desire to honor his friend and festival co-founder, Corey Mitchell, who tragically passed away last October.
Mitchell was the driving creative force behind the festival's success, and Anselmo believes there is no better way to pay tribute to his friend than to carry on for a third year. "I've got a great team in place to help make this what Corey and I wanted it to be," he says. "There are a lot of mixed emotions here because no one can replace him. But, we know he would want this to continue and so that's what we're going to do. We miss him and think about him every day."
Bands already confirmed to play are Suffocation, Autopsy, Cripple Bastards, Nails, SYk & Dalila Kayros, YOB, Eyehategod, Child Bite, Warbeast and many more to be announced soon. Maryland Deathfest co-founder Ryan Taylor will be booking bands this year and will help Anselmo craft a musical lineup that would make Mitchell proud.
In addition to showcasing the best in extreme metal, the festival will screen film gems from the personal vaults of both Anselmo and Mitchell. Horror filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films and winners will be selected in various categories and given the coveted Rot-Scar Award. "When Corey and I started this thing, it was important to us that we help independent filmmakers get their incredible work discovered," Anselmo continues. "Nothing has changed, in that respect."
Tickets to go on sale soon - stay tuned for additional announcements. More...
Italy's Cripple Bastards has been confirmed for the upcoming Obscene Extreme Festival. The following press release was also issued about the appearance:
"You could say this is a 'grindcore hat-trick' as it is the third OEF appearance in 2014 for Italian hate mob Cripple Bastards after headlining the insane Obscene Extreme Asia in Tokyo and Obscene Extreme Australia in Melbourne earlier this year. But if you really want to see the Bastards play at home, then Obscene Extreme Trutnov is the grounds for the final massacre. They have been blasting the shit on stage since the festival's birth back in 1999 and raised the most infernal stage diving pits for countless times through the years that followed.
"26 years after their conception Cripple Bastards still hold the banner high as Italy's most hostile and aggressive grind/hardcore unit around. With one foot firmly in the past and all the vicious savagery of manic fast 80's hardcore extremity, Cripple Bastards are also charging forwards. With bloodshot eyes and a rabid 'get out and bite them' attitude, this band are ready to introduce their brand new 2014 full length 'Nero In Metastasi' on Relapse Records and they will consolidate their ongoing mission of bringing nihilistic, fuck-you-all, grinding hatred to every corner of an underserving mankind. Cripple Bastards will also be introducing for the first time ever on Trutnov's Battlefield their 5 piece line-up with new axeman Wild Vitto on second guitar which will only enhance their wall of hate/grind fury!"

In less than three weeks, Italian hardcore terrorists Cripple Bastards will disburse the harsh new LP, "Nero In Metastasi," upon the masses via Relapse.
Now you can hear the new song "Nemico A Terra" in the player below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"The band's first full-length release for the label, the eighteen tracks on 'Nero In Metastasi' arguably bear the most 'metal' production in Cripple Bastards' massive discography to date -- an attribute acquired during its construction under the watch of producer Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden (Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity) -- without impacting their rabid, unabashed political hardcore energy. A prime example of this is the album's twelfth track, 'Nemico A Terra,' which CB vocalist Giulio The Bastard translates to, 'Enemy Down.'" More...

Italy's grindcore fiends Cripple Bastards have entered the studio to record their Relapse Records full-length debut and first new album in over three years.
They have returned, once again, to Studio Fredman in Gotherburg Sweden to work with producer Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity). The album is set for an early 2014 release.
Additionally, 2013 marks the grind veteran's 25th anniversary which they will celebrate with a special performance at this year's Rock Hard Italy Festival in September. The band commented on reaching this milestone:
"It's crazy to realize that we have been around for so long and the best way to prove that we're still going strong and have a lot to express through our music and rage is what we're putting together on the new songs written for the upcoming album, which is certainly going to be our most negative, dark and violent release to date."

On Day Two, the scene had changed. The street in front of the club had been shut down and made into the fest grounds. One stage was at each end of the street, just over the length of the building. I won’t say that the festival had a lot of space; we were kind of worried about bands overlapping and drowning out each other’s sound. But the rigs for each stage were so loud that that would prove impossible. Vendors also lined up between the two stages selling boxes of vinyl, CDs, and even some cassettes. There were t-shirts galore with hideous pictures and illegible logos. I was really amused by the black metal face-painting stand where you could choose from KISS, Immortal, King Diamond, and your other favorite corpse-painted rockers. Inside Sonar was a new merch room that was so constantly crowded and oddly arranged, it kind of looked like a beggar’s village with really cool wares for sale. With so much drink, food, merchandise from every band in existence, and amazing live shows all day long, you couldn’t ask for more. More...
The Maryland Deathfest organizers report that "Sonar will be re-opening before MDF, and technically they already have."
As previously reported, the venue of the Maryland Deathfest was up in the air when Baltimore's Sonar nightclub failed to renew their liquor license and closed its doors.
The organizers futher commented: "These last couple of days have been incredibly confusing and stressful, but we are currently back to the regularly scheduled program. And don't worry, beyond plan B is a plan C, because that's how we roll. See you in a couple of weeks."
As such, the set times that were previously announced should now hold.
Here's the updated flier: More...
