Kamelot has issued the following update about releasing a new album in 2010:
"Hey Guys, things are going great here in Wolfsburg! We will take a break next week for Christmas and then we are back to finishing things up. Lots going on here, new album, new set list for the tour, new label news and more. Lots of diversity on the new record. We hope to announce more details soon including the cover art etc...stay tuned and get ready for a MONSTER 2010!! Kamelot has set a tentative release date for their next album for March 22nd, 2010!"
Kamelot have posted a teaser video online for their upcoming headlining European tour, which can be viewed below. Kamelot will be supported by Leaves' Eyes, Adagio, All Ends, and Amaranthe. Kamelot has posted the following message on the band's web site:
"As Kamelot's concert schedule grows and commitments increase the demand on its members has also increased. Kamelot's guitarist Thomas Youngblood states, 'Glenn called me a few weeks ago and told me he just couldn't do it anymore, and has to step aside. He is like a brother to us and we've been through a lot of great times, so we wanted him to make this decision.'
"Bassist Sean Tibbetts has been on tour with Kamelot now for more than 2.5 years, stepping in for Glenn Barry while he took time off for family. We are very pleased to announce Sean Tibbetts as the new Kamelot bassist!!!"

Spanish metal band DARKSUN will be performing at the Easter Metal Fest on April 4, 2010 at La Riviera in Madrid, Spain. KAMELOT will be headlining, with ADAGIO and HEAVENWOOD also on the bill.
French metallers Adagio have announced they will be supporting Kamelot on their 2010 European tour. "We are very pleased to have Adagio with us on this tour coming up in Spring 2010, we did a few shows with them in the past and they are first class musicians and very cool people. Leaves' Eyes has been confirmed for next year's ProgPower USA XI festival, which takes place on September 8th-11th in Atlanta, Georgia. Other currently confirmed bands include Kamelot, Hammerfall, Nocturnal Rites, Tarot, Tyr, Delain, Seventh Wonder, DGM, Oceans of Sadness, Stormwarrior, Paradox, and Illusion Suite. Kamelot has issued the following announcement about headlining the ProgPower USA XI festival in 2010:
"Kamelot announced as one of the Headliners for ProgPower USA XI. ProgPower USA began in 2001. The first festival was held in Lansing, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, at J.J. Kelley's. The subsequent events have been held in Atlanta, Georgia, at Earthlink Live (formerly and again Center Stage Atlanta). Visit here for more info."

OCEANS OF SADNESS
The Atlanta, GA based progressive metal band Halcyon Way has parted ways with singer Sean Shields due to creative differences. Taking over on vocals for the Nightmare Records recording artist is Steve Braun, known for his work with Italian progressive-metallers ASHENT, who have released two records via Lion Music.
"I'm really excited and humbled by the opportunity to jam with these guys, and I'm looking forward to help take the band to the next level on the new record," said Steve. More...

As Kamelot continues work on their follow-up to "Ghost Opera," the band has been asked about the situation with their former label SPV/Steamhammer (SPV recently filed for bankruptcy).
"We have met with SPV in Hamburg recently and I know they are trying hard to rebound from their insolvency. We had already terminated our deal months ago with them, even before the insolvency. Since then we have been approached by many labels to release the next Kamelot album, including 2 major labels. We have some great offers and now we just have to decide on the right partners for our next step," states vocalist Khan.
Kamelot is coming off their last show of 2009 playing the Sonisphere Festival in Holland with Metallica, Slipnot and others.
Kamelot frontman, Roy Khan, describes the crowd at their first-ever Sonisphere gig as “brilliant”, admitting he was not “expecting to see so many people out there ...”.
Their new album yet untitled is tentatively schedule for a Feb/Mar 2010 release. The first leg of their 2010 World Tour is going to be announced any day now.
Thomas Youngblood, guitarist of Kamelot, has checked in from Germany.
"We are now in Germany for to begin the first stages of preproduction on the next Kamelot album. It's great to be back in this familiar region and environment we have know so well. We are of course very excited about the new ideas and the upcoming recordings. The concerts in Sweden and Finland last weekend were awesome, thanks to all the fans see you in 2010!
"Next week we will round out the final headliner shows here in Europe for 'The Ghost Opera.' A new chapter begins!!"
Kamelot's new video is now available at the band's official web site at www.kamelot.com. The video was shot in Belgrade, Serbia by the team at ICode. It is one of the featured songs on Kamelot's latest album, "Ghost Opera-The Second Coming," released earlier on SPV/Steamhammer.
