Helloween posted up an update video on the recording of the band's new album and follow up to 2010's "7 Sinners." The video features a short talk by vocalist Andi Deris announcing that the band's yet untitled new album will be released in early 2013 followed up by an extensive world tour.

German power metal legends Helloween posted the first in studio video of the band recording the follow up to the 2010 release "Seven Sinners." In this video drummer Dani Löble does a short recording and talk announcing the band has started work on the new album at MiSueno Studios.

Norwegian power metal band Gaia Epicus is streaming the Helloween cover track "Warrior" (originally from Helloween's debut self-titled EP from 1985). The cover track appears on the upcoming "HelloRay" tribute album to Helloween/Gamma Ray, which is due out on March 26, 2012 through Epicus Records.

Iced Earth has checked in with the following announcement about the band's upcoming Wacken appearance this Saturday, August 6th being streamed online in its entirety:
"Looks like Iced Earth's Wacken show this Saturday will be streamed live on the Internet! The band takes the stage at 17:30 German time, which is 11:30am, Eastern Time. The show is scheduled to last one hour (17:30-18:30/11:30am-12:30pm, Eastern. Enjoy!"

New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends Tank has announced that Mark Cross, known for his time with bands such as Helloween and Firewind, has been recruited as their new drummer. A message from the band reads as follows:
"Massive news from the War Office this morning - Mark Cross, formerly of Firewind, Helloween, Ian Gillan, Kingdom Come and more, is the new drummer of Tank. We are delighted to welcome Mark into the trenches and everyone connected with the band feels that his addition to our ranks will move the band into a new dimension."
Mick Tucker, Tank's longest serving member (28 years), said the following about this exciting development: "We have now assembled some of the finest metal musicians Tank have ever had. We are now prepared to unleash this awesome lineup on Europe. We hope to see you all on tour."
Mick's guitar partner, Cliff Evans, second longest serving member of the band (26 years) said: "To have someone of Mark's calibre join the band shows just how far we have come this last couple of years. Mark is one of the very best Metal drummers around and will really add something to our sound. This is a big move for us and we cannot wait to introduce Mark to the fans on the road later this year."
Stormwarrior and Legion of the Damned have been confirmed for Germany's Bang Your Head festival. The upcoming festival will take place on July 15th and July 16th at the Messegelände in Balingen.

Saxon has issued the following brief announcement about appearing at this year's edition of the Sauna Open Air festival:
"We are happy to announce that Saxon is confirmed for the Sauna Open Air Festival in Finland.
Let's see how sweaty it will be and see you there!"
The festival is set to take place from June 9th - 11th, 2011 and will feature appearances from Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and Helloween. Saxon also recently announced Australian shows with The Sword. Details on those dates can be found here.
Symfonia, the new melodic metal project featuring former members of Helloween, Stratovarius, Angra and Sonata Arctica, has announced that it will enter Studiomega in Varberg, Sweden on November 25 to begin recording 12 songs for its debut album, which is scheduled for a March 25, 2011 release. Symfonia has signed a four-album deal with the biggest Japanese metal and rock label Marquee Avalon for the territory of the entire Asian region, including China. Negotiations for the other territories are still in progress.

Kiske/Somerville, the new project featuring former Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske and American singer Amanda Somerville, has posted it's new music video online. The video is for the track "If I Had A Wish" and is featured on the duet's forthcoming debut, self-titled album. The debut is set for release on October 12, 2010 through Frontiers Records.

The tour has been named "The 7 Sinners World Tour 2010/11 - European Part I" and features support from Finnish metal act Stratovarius. The tour kicks off on November 26th, 2010 in Wien, Austria and ends on December 19th in Prague, Czech Republic.

The organisers of Britain's Hard Rock Hell festival has announced some more additions to this years lineup. The biggest news is that British heavy metal staples Saxon will be returning to the event this year and that German power metal veterans Helloween will be joining them. Also added to the bill is New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band Blitzkrieg and Swedish glam metal band Fatal Smile. The event is scheduled to take place in Prestatyn, Wales at the Pontins resort from December 3rd-5th.

German power metal veterans Helloween has announced that they have returned to the studio to begin recording their next studio album. A message from bass player Markus Grosskopf reads as follows:
"For all those out there who found our special Best-Of ,Unarmed, to be too smooth and calm, I have a great news: The new album will hit you right in the face! It´s gonna be very heavy and contain all Helloween trademarks! Some songs are very powerful and hymnic, others contain the fastest bass drum patterns our drummer Dani ever played, and this means a lot! I am really excited about the material we brought together and can´t wait to put my bass tracks on those kick ass Metal songs!"
German power metal legends Helloween have posted their new music video online for the re-recorded version of their top ten hit, "Dr. Stein." You can check it out below. The song features on the bands new "Unarmed" album, which is a collection of re-recordings of some of their most well known songs. The album will be released on January 29th in Europe but has no North American release date confirmed at this time. More...
Helloween has announced that they produced a comical video clip for the song "Dr. Stein." The clip to the band's classic and former top 10 single was elaborate produced by Oliver Sommer and the AVA Studios, and will have it's premiere January 8th. The track derives from the BEST-OF UNARMED album, which is going to be released January 29th. In this special BEST-Of album the band took 11 songs from their past records, re-arranged and re-recorded them.
The band comments, "We intentionally wanted to do something untypical for metal...just re-releasing our hits from the past would be too boring and -from our point of view- not adequate for the band's anniversary!"
