North Carolina's KillWhitneyDead has just completed the recording of new album "Suffer My Wrath."
Entering the band's 12th year of existence, KillWhitneyDead’s origins are deeply rooted in the early deathcore scene, but on "Suffer My Wrath," the group steps away from the genre’s stylistic confines.
Lead vocalist Matt Rudzinski elaborates, "Over the years, we have definitely been pigeonholed as a group and deservedly so, but when Kyle (guitar) handed me this batch of new songs back in 2010 I knew we were going to shake things up for KWD fans. Are we re-inventing the wheel as far as metal is concerned, not really, but are we attempting to shatter expectations of what a new Killwhitneydead record will sound like in 2013? Sure we are, but whether fans will accept that change only time will tell."
"Suffer My Wrath" was engineered by new guitarist, Kyle Odell (Vanisher, Bloodjinn) and mixed by longtime friend, Jamie King, at his Basement Studios. Line of Fire’s Shawn Pelata lends his powerhouse melodic vocal style to 7 tracks on "Suffer My Wrath," while guitarist Matt Johnsen (Pharaoh) and singer Justin Reich (Vanisher) also appear on the record. Jonin members Thomas Clark, Todd Houck and Stuart Smith round out the guest list of performers on the upcoming release. More...

KillWhitneyDead has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming album and lining up 2011 tour dates:
"Well, since KWD did not tour this summer it's been slow moving for us here in camp KWD, but I am happy to report that KWD have been working on our (long overdue) new album, Ever Thine. Ever Mine. Ever Ours. Progress has been slow, but it's coming along.
"Aside from that we have also begun a different release to help get new creative juices flowing again. KWD is hoping to have a special brand new EP package release for Valentine's Day. Yes, the holiday that everyone loves will now be ruined by KWD! We are currently discussing doing a special package deal of 7", CDEP and shirt. We hope to have 2 new songs and a cover song for everyone to enjoy while we continue to work on the album. Stay tuned for more details as the come available.
"So, there has also been talk of a tour this coming summer. We aren't sure if it will be full US or not. Timing is critical for us and we may only be able to do 3 weeks this summer. So if that becomes the case we will be only hitting some of our favorite spots to see our friends again (maybe for the last time, who knows). We do have a new line-up consisting of past and current KWD members, so it should be an interesting twist in our history as a band. Plus, it was time to shake things up a bit."
Metalcore act The Demonstration is hard at work on their third studio album. Their second, "Accidents with Intelligence," was released in 2008 (click here for the MU review).
The as yet untitled full length is slated to be released in the fall of 2010, with recording being done over the summer. The official press release is as follows:
"We are currently working on our third full-length record right now and everything is coming together. We've spend quite a bit of time on this record, and have been taking a slightly different approach. Accidents With Intelligence was written in a very short amount of time following our signing with Mediskare. This time around we are taking our time, experimenting with some different styles, tunings, and directions both vocally and musically. The demo we posted yesterday because we just wanted to get something new out there, and we tired of hearing about lady gaga, haha. Jameson and David have been writing music and we have several songs for this new record finished. The demo we posted as a trial has a slightly different feel that what Demonstration fans are used to, but trust us, you can expect the traditional sound elements that you're used to hearing from us threaded throughout this next record as well as some new stuff that you might not expect from us. We are taking our time on this one to give our fans the best album we can that shows our progression from Accidents. Expect some elements that you're used to from us, but also expect a move aggressive, heavy, yet melodically sound record from us in 2010!"

KillWhitneyDead has issued the following statement about releasing a new album in 2010:
"The most asked question I get besides 'who is Whitney?' has been 'when are you guys releasing a new album?' Well, I am happy to report that work has begun on new KWD material for release in 2010 (most likely summertime, naturally). The material is only in the writing phase and nowhere near being recorded yet.
"It's been a long time coming for most KWD fans considering Nothing Less Nothing More and Hell To Pay were both released June 4th 2007, but to be honest with everyone out there I just haven't wanted to write anything recently (well, for the last 2 years actually). I have chatted with so many fans over the years about 'inspiration' and how that is important to KWD's music. KWD is not like most other bands out there in the scene. It is not our living, so we are not at the 'mercy' of the road and constantly having to tour. So KWD does not need to rush into the studio and write songs in a month so that a new album can be released in time to jump on the next big tour. We have never operated like that and, thankfully, NEVER will. So up until right now I have not felt 'inspired' to work on anything new for KWD, so I figured I wouldn't grind my gears on something I wasn't into doing. But, now KWD has entered a new era and it's time to dust off the mental cobwebs and get going again! More...

Tribunal Records has posted a sneak peak for the new KILLWHITNEYDEAD music video. It was made in conjunction with an upcoming independent zombie film entitled, "Z13: The Zombie Within." Information about the film can also be found below with links to it's trailer and you can view the movie poster too!
This is version 1 of the video. There is another version in the works with actual audio samples that the band has chosen to remix into the track itself to create a special "Z13 Remix" if you will.
KILLWHITNEYDEAD have posted the following update:
“Well, since we are unable to tour right now due to many different reasons we have decided to work on our new album (as well as a new DVD - details for that will come later.)"
"The new album is going to consist of re-recordings of all the early demos from the pre ‘Inhaling The Breath Of A Bullet’ era KWD. So expect rapid fire blasts of pure unadulterated KWD filth and hatred. Lightning quick songs with absolutely no fear of your acceptance. We want to take a step back, and as we have always tried to accomplish with this band, have some fucking fun. So get ready for some good old fashion KWD you may or may not have come to love."
"We hope to have it out by the end of the year. If it is completed by this summer we will probably bring it on the road with us to sell to all you diehards!”
Yet another way you can tell metal is on the rise (commercially) is by how many metal Christmas songs are out this year. I don't recall another year that I have heard of more than one or two metal renditions of Christmas songs. This year, however, I've seen postings for more than half a dozen of them - some old, but some new as well. So I've decided to compile a list of these metal Christmas songs so that fans of this sort of thing can listen to and download them while they're still online.
Personally, I'm a sucker for metal Christmas songs, but only if they're done well. I figure if I've got to listen to something, it might as well be heavy or at least have a rock or metal edge to it. Granted, some of these songs are not ultra-heavy, but I find them to be fun expressions for the holiday season by metal bands. Others are parodies of Christmas songs or Christmas itself, and these are usually heavier than the actual Christmas carols.
Without further ado, here's the list: More...
You can check out a new Christmas song from KILLWHITNEYDEAD entitled “Jingle Hell” online over at their official MySpace page.

Killwhitneydead has announced the departure of guitarist Charles Matheny. Here's a statement from the band:
"Yes, we have a new guitarist in the band and his name is Rob. He used to be in local favorites, Gabriella Cutthroat, and he brings with him a love of 80s metal and wicked stage acrobatics! We are stoked to have him aboard. We had some unfortunate things happen during our last tour and we had to part ways with a member. We will not go into details, but we would like to apologize (not that we haven't already to the people directly involved) to all the fans who were affected in some way or another."
North Carolina’s KILLWHITNEYDEAD have posted ten new songs online here and here. The tracks come off their upcoming new albums Nothing Less Nothing More and Hell To Pay, both of which will be released on June 5th.
Killwhitneydead will enter The Basement Studios late this month with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me) to recording the first of two new albums planned for release in 2007. According to the group, "Jamie King produced all previous recordings for the band, and feel that he is the best man for the job." Tentative working titles for the albums are "Booze & Other Bad Habits" and "Killwhitneydead: Nothing Less Nothing More." Release dates are planned for late spring/early summer 2007.
