Leaves' Eyes/Atrocity Guitarist Quits

Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity guitarist Mathias Röderer has left both bands for family reasons. Atrocity comments: "Matze has been a part of ATROCITY from the beginning and did music with the band for more than 20 years. Both bands wish him the best for his future!"

Sander van der Meer of Dutch death metal band Cypher will take up the place on second guitar for both Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity.

Cypher Announces New Drummer, Robin

Dutch death/thrash metal band Cypher has announced their new drummer as Robin.

The band comments, "We found a new drummer! Robin totally blew us away during his audition
and will be our skinsman from now on. We would like to thank Koen Herfst
for taking the time and effort to help us out, it was an honour working with
a pro like him, go check out his other bands Baggabownz & ICHAOS."

Cypher Seeking New Drummer

Dutch death metal band Cypher has issued the following announcement about looking for a new drummer:

"Due to the fact that Koen is getting increasingly busier with his own bands/musical projects (I Chaos/Baggabownz a.o.), Cypher is looking for a new drummer. We are situated in The Hague, Holland.

"To get an indication of what kind of drummer we are looking for, check the two tracks that are up on our myspace!

Cypher Working On New Material, Posts New Song

Cypher is currently focussing on material for their second album. No official release date has been set yet, but expect it early 2009!

To give all death metal fans a preview of what's to come, Cypher has posted a pre-production version of the song "Then Came The Flies" at their Myspace page.

Carcass Frontman To Guest On New Cypher Album

Dutch death/thrash act CYPHER have posted the following message:

"CARCASS vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker will be making a guest appearance on the new upcoming Cypher album. Walker will feature in a vocal battle with T on the track 'The Plague Race'.

Needless to say we are very stoked about having the voice of one of our favorite bands ever on the album.

Currently we are in pre-production mode and completing the new material for our next full length which will likely surface fall/winter 2008.

This new album is gonna be one motherfucking crippling blow!!!

Cypher Part Ways With Bassist

Dutch death/thrash metallers CYPHER have parted ways with bassist Jerry "Pioko" Orie. Jerry will be returning to his home country, Surinam, to pursue business opportunities and promote metal music. He served the CYPHER clan for three years. His last appearance with CYPHER will take place on Friday, September 7 at The Cave in Amsterdam.

Jerry's replacement in CYPHER will be Joost van der Graaf. Joost is probably best known for being the vocalist and bass player of CREEPMIME, one of Holland's leading metal bands of the mid-90s.

CYPHER's debut album, "Darkday Carnival", was released last October through Rusty Cage Records.

Cypher Signs With Rusty Cage Records

Dutch death/thrash metallers CYPHER have inked a deal with Rusty Cage Records. The group's debut album, "Darkday Carnival", is scheduled for release at the end of October.
