Ukrainian metallers SEMARGL have finished recording their new full-length album, "Ordo Bellictum Satanas," for an early 2010 release via German label Twilight Vertrieb. The recording sessions for the fourth SEMARGL's CD took place at Blacklight Recording Studio in Kiev. Guest musicians on this album include: Jonny Maudling (BAL-SAGOTH, MY DYING BRIDE), Nera (DARZAMAT), Iscariah (IMMORTAL, DEAD TO THIS WORLD, NECROPHAGIA), Novy (DIES IRAE, BEHEMOTH, VADER), Vrangsinn (CARPATHIAN FOREST, NATTEFROST).
UK doom legends MY DYING BRIDE have entered the studio to begin recording their next album. Pre-production started last week and the band has since gone into full studio mode at Futureworks in Manchester, with Mags once again at the helm.
According to guitarist Andrew Craighan, there are no song or album titles yet, but the feel of the album is, in his words, "heading for empty and bleak with flashes of rage."
MY DYING BRIDE last year announced the addition of bassist Lena Abé and drummer Dan Mullins (THINE, BAL-SAGOTH, SERMON OF HYPOCRISY) to the group's ranks.
The band's ninth studio effort, "A Line of Deathless Kings", was released in October 2006 via Peaceville/Snapper Music.

Jan. 25 - Helsinki, Finland - Nosturi
Jan. 26 - Turku, Finland - Klubi
BATTLELORE is currently working on material for its fifth album, tentatively due next summer. "At the moment it seems that there will be bigger, more epic parts in the vein of 'Sword's Song' but also more harder, heavier parts in the vein of 'Evernight'," stated vocalist Tomi Mykkänen. "I'm quite sure that you fans won't be disappointed with this one."
Britannia´s symphonic War Metal heroes BAL-SAGOTH and drummer Dan Mullins have officially parted ways. Mullins is replaced full time by Paul "Wak" Jackson, who also assumed kit duties for BAL-SAGOTH during their two most recent live shows.

My Dying Bride has posted an announcement online regarding the departure of bassist Adrian Jackson and drummer John Bennet:
"MY DYING BRIDE is sorry to have to say that on January 5, 2007 bassist Adrian Jackson left the band. He has pledged his future in and has made it quite clear there is no room in his plans for MY DYING BRIDE. We have parted in good faith and wish him luck with his new life out there. It has absolutely no effect on any of the gigs we have confirmed. We have already rehearsed his replacement to gig readiness and she is looking forward to playing for the first time in MY DYING BRIDE. More on his replacement, Lena, soon.
"Secondly we have had to replace long term stand in drummer / thunder truck / Uberlunatic John Bennet due to his work commitments. He is saddened by the fact he cannot drum for MY DYING BRIDE anymore as are we, but we understand that we all have to make a living and wish him luck too in his job.
"It's not all doom and gloom though as we have been rehearsing with excellent drummer Dan Mullins of THINE, BAL-SAGOTH and SERMON OF HYPOCRISY fame and again he too is now at gig readiness. MDB has a new fresh focused feel to it and we are looking forward to the shows with a vengeance."
The final details have been hammered out between WRITTEN IN TORMENT and None More Black Records. According to the band, "the debut release will assault the black metal underground in the fall of 2006. The label hopes to have it in the hands of the fans by October.

Written In Torment was formed in 2002 by sole member Leviathan, writing commenced immediately with tracks being recorded in late 2005 and early 2006. All instruments were played by Leviathan except for a special guest solo by Mark Greenwell of BAL-SAGOTH on the track 'LV-426'.

In related news, Saturday's second stage has been sponsored by UK UNSIGNED. The press release reads:
"Bloodstock has always strived to offer each festival line-up a number of unsigned bands who may well be the future of Rock and Metal in the UK. We would like to think that one day, a band breaks through having first had major exposure at a Bloodstock Festival."
"With this in mind, we have teamed up with UK UNSIGNED, (www.gigsonline.co.uk/rock ) a charity whose aim is to promote and develop unsigned UK based artists, from which the Rock and Metal field is one of the largest."
"Expect to see at least 8 bands on Saturday 15th July on the second stage, each having competed to win a place to play, and each welcoming your support and giving them a great reception! Bands already include Kyrbgrinder, State Of Serenity, Sicfelt, Solace, Deadeye, Beyond All Reason and Deadweight with several more to be added!"

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival has added more international and Finnish acts to the 2005 roster. The line-up is almost complete with only 1 more artist to be added for Saturday afternoon as well as the winner from the band contest at Rotonde-Festival, France, which is to be held later this spring. This year's Tuska-Festival is more international than ever, with nearly half of the artists coming from abroad. The evening clubs will most likely see some international action as well.
New additions in Finnish professionalism will be represented by Apocalyptica, whose cello metal is witnessed way too rarely on their native soil. Apocalytica just recently supported Rammstein on their European tour and appeared stateside on a few selected dates.
German precision and universal greatness is brought to you by the mighty Gamma Ray. The band last appeared on the bill at Tuska 2000 and have since built their fanbase by selling out club shows on a regular basis.
Other additions include up-and-coming death metallers Amoral, Finnish-singing Stam1na and Viikate, as well as Callisto who are about to embark on a European tour in a few weeks.
The search continues for one more, either domestic or foreign artist.
Ticket sales for Tuska 2005 start on Friday April 1st. Three-day ticketcosts 67 euro, one-day ticket 32 euro. Go to www.lippupalvelu.fi to purchase tickets.
