Arcane Streaming "Hunter, Heart & Home"

Australia's conceptual prog rock/metal outfit Arcane continues to perform across its homeland on the launch circuit for the impending "Known/Learned" double-album release, set to hit the streets via Sensory Records this Winter.

In 2013, Arcane sanctioned Sam Vallen (Caligula's Horse) to produce its most massive album to date, a two-part conceptual release entitled "Known/Learned," with sixteen expansive tracks encompassing an immense two hours of music.

The first movement, "Known," delivers a more traditionally-oriented progressive rock performance, and the second, "Learned," takes a lighter, more acoustic/folk inspired path. The recordings were mastered by Troy Glessner at Spectre Mastering in Seattle, and the album's cover art provided by Chris Stevenson-Mangos.

A generous crowd funding campaign supported by passionate fans bands helped Arcane produce "Known/Learned," yet as the album was seeing completion, the band crossed paths with New Jersey-based progressive label, The Laser's Edge, who took the album on for worldwide release and distribution upon its recent completion through its Sensory Records entity.

A limited run of the album will be dispatched to the loyal funding crowd, while Sensory will release the album on a 2xCD digipak and deluxe digital package worldwide, in North America January 20th and in Europe on February 13th.

Arcane has released another new single from the new opus, with the nearly eight-minute-long opening track to the "Learned" half of the album, "Hunter, Heart & Home," streaming now below. More...

Arcane Signs With Sensory Records

Australian prog rock/metal outfit Arcane has signed with Sensory Records for the international release of the epic new double-disc conceptual album, "Known/Learned." The label comments:

"In 2013, Arcane sanctioned Sam Vallen (Caligula's Horse) to produce their most massive album to date, a two-part conceptual masterpiece entitled Known/Learned. Encompassing sixteen expansive tracks totaling an immense two hours of music, the new project will see release as a two CD package. The first movement, Known delivering a more traditionally-oriented progressive rock performance, and the second, Learned, taking a lighter, more acoustic/folk inspired journey, both opuses forming one central storyline."

Arcane also had this to say: "Known/Learned is a collection of themes and moments, captured between recurring characters. While never explicitly told in the traditional vein of the 'concept album', the imagery of Known/Learned depicts fragmented moments in the lives of a father and his daughter, their loss, their love, their journey. A bittersweet love song for life."

The recordings were mastered by Troy Glessner at Spectre Mastering in Seattle, and the album's cover art provided by Chris Stevenson-Mangos.

A generous crowd funding campaign supported by passionate fans, organizations and fellow bands helped Arcane produce "Known/Learned," yet as the album was seeing completion, the band crossed paths with New Jersey-based progressive label, The Laser's Edge, who took the album on for worldwide release and distribution upon its recent completion through its Sensory Records entity. Arcane Album Details Emerge

Mysterious Brisbane based proggers Arcane have unveiled a host of new information regarding the concept of their upcoming album Chronicles Of The Waking Dream. Eight individual releases of information have found their way online to the blogs on Acolyte Zero's MySpace page.

These releases are titled after eight disorders in human perception, including synchronicity, pareidolia, religious fanaticism, regret, invisible friends, obsession and a mental disorder called Apophenia, defined as "an obsession with seeking patterns and connectivity in random data and unconnected experience". The entries themselves begin to introduce and develop certain characters from the album.

In a separate press release welcoming new drummer Blake Coulson on board, Arcane also mentioned that they will not be performing again for 2008, and that their first gigs of 2009 will be the Chronicles album launch shows, where they will not only launch the CD but "play the album live, in it's entirety".

Arcane Bassist Leaves Band

Prog-metallers Arcane and their long-time bassist, Shirley, have gone their seperate ways. Whilst the Brisbane-based band has yet to issue any comments, Shirley has thanked all those that have supported him throughout his career with Arcane, saying

"I just want to thank everyone who has ever come out and seen me, and especially rto [sic] anyone who has enjoyed Desolace in particular which is a song that has meant so much to me. That song is yours now. It's something that I want you to sing along to everytime you hear it, and when you do, spare a thought for your old Uncle Shirley."

Also forth-coming from the ex-Arcane bassist was some advice and encouragement for his fans; "Support your local scene. I can't tell you the feeling I get when I see all your smiling faces, heads banging and singing along to our words. We have so much talent in this town alone...You give them an energy, a purpose, a reason to be more than who they are."
