Latest Soilwork News
Below is our complete Soilwork news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

After a highly successful run of European festivals and select club shows, Sweden's Soilwork has started writing music for the follow-up to "The Panic Broadcast," which debuted the U.S. Billboard charts at #88 upon its release in July 2010.
Commented vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid: “It's been an intense summer and at this point, me and the boys are hibernating in pretty much every corner of the world and putting our next album together. Many songs are yet to be written but the inspiration is flowing! People can expect a continuation of the intensity and presence of The Panic Broadcast, only taken to a higher level. That's the mindset. We will do some touring next year as well, before hopefully entering the studio sometime in the early fall.
"The album title is already set: 'The Living Infinite.' Chew on that for a bit and don't spit it out until the music is invading your ears, folks! Until then, make sure you follow the songwriting process and other news on Soilwork's official Facebook page and website. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and thank you all for your continuous support!"
Additionally, Soilwork has uploaded new footage from the band's performance at last summer’s Roskilde festal in Denmark. Check out an exclusive on-stage video for “Two Lives Worth Of Reckoning” below. More...
Björn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork has checked in with the following update about writing new material for an upcoming album:
"Hey, hey! Speed reporting to you from Toronto. As you can see I'm alive and well and wearing somewhat of a canadian tuxedo and the inevitable presence of two polar bears behind me to back it up.
"We are currently doing some songwriting for the next album, however that doesn't mean that we're done touring for our latest album, some very cool tours and shows will be announced soon...
"I will keep you in the loop from now on with weekly reports about the Soilwork camp and aboot my canadian la dolce vita! Talk soon!"

Soilwork guitarist Peter Wichers has posted the following statement online, announcing his decision to miss out on the band's forthcoming festival appearances;
"Thanks for all the great feedback and kind words of encouragement regarding my back injury! I’m feeling much better after several months of resting, but I’m not 100% yet, so I’ve decided to sit out some of the summer festivals in order to make a full recovery sooner. Filling in for me will be an old friend of the band and an amazing player: David Andersson. David has helped Soilwork out in the past, and we’re grateful that he’s offered to step in once again and make these shows possible!"
Morbid Angel's new album "Illud Divinum Insanus" will be out in less than a week, and Season of Mist has now asked a series of famous names in the metal what they thought of the influential extreme metal act's new opus. The commentary from the various musicians can be viewed below, or you can check out Metalunderground.com's review here.
"The new Morbid Angel album will cause 3rd World War. After June 7th, the extreme metal scene is never gonna be the same again... And I already can't wait the moment I'll be sitting on my sofa listening to 'Illus Divinum Insanus' while the world burns! Ha!" - Nergal, Behemoth.
"No other band in the entire Extreme Metal genre but Morbid Angel would have ever dared to make 'Illud Divinum Insanus'. There are going to be quite a few unimaginative underground purists who think they know better what kind of album Morbid Angel should or should not be putting out, but with 'Illud Divinum Insanus' Trey and David prove that they answer to no one but themselves. It is an incredibly well written, performed, recorded and produced record." - Karl Sanders, Nile.
"One of the best death metal releases since their last album with Vincent. I'm not too much into the techno bits but I am a dude who will appreciate and respect bands doing new things, progressing... So it's all good. Vincent's vocals of course are still as good as they come. And the riffs are definitely there, Trey always delivers. New drummer is killer too!" - Mikael Akerfeldt, Opeth.
"The ultimate voice of death metal is back, as hellish as ever!" - Mikael Stanne, Dark Tranquillity.
"Glad to see Morbid Angel are back! We had our share of criticism when we first incorporated electronic elements in our sound and we know it takes courage and passion to follow one's own stream of inspiration. This time the guitar work is more impressive than ever and those 11 songs are a real 'tour de force'. With this new album they're not afraid to take the hit from the more conservative audience but that's what it means to be extreme!" - Vorph, Samael
"Innovation, wits and a feral 'no compromise' attitude is what brands the greatest of bands. 'Illud Divinum Insanus' is all that and a leap further! Hail Morbid Angel!" - Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen, Ava Inferi, ex Mayhem. More...
