70000TONS OF METAL, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise, has announced a change in the destination for its 2026 voyage. The upcoming edition of the festival at sea, taking place from January 29 to February 2, 2026, will now sail from Miami, Florida to Nassau, the Bahamas aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas.

Originally planned to return to Labadee, Haiti, the decision to reroute the journey was made out of an abundance of caution and with the well-being of all Sailors, artists, and crew as the top priority.

"While Labadee has been a great port of call on past sailings, we are closely monitoring the evolving situation in Haiti and its surrounding regions," said Andy Piller, Skipper of 70000TONS OF METAL. "Ensuring the safety and comfort of our Survivors is non-negotiable. With that in mind, we’ve made the proactive decision to change course for 2026. Soilwork Posts New Single Online

Swedish melodic death metal legends Soilwork are back with a brand new single, "Spirit Of No Return," along with a powerful and visually striking music video. The track marks a significant milestone in the band’s evolution, with long-time live guitarist Simon Johansson recently officially joining the ranks of the band. You can check out the video below.

"Spirit Of No Return" showcases Soilwork's signature blend of frenzied intensity, soaring melodies, epic arrangements, and a touch of progressive complexity - traits that have cemented their reputation over the last three decades. Johansson’s contribution to the song’s writing channels the band's essence while bringing fresh energy to their unmistakable sound.

The video is equally captivating, featuring a stunning sequence where the iconic Soilwork symbol is reforged, representing the band’s resurgence and renewed strength. This visual narrative perfectly complements the song’s theme of perseverance and transformation.

Frontman Björn “Speed” Strid comments on the song: "'Spirit Of No Return' is a fierce reminder of the past, but also an introduction of the new Soilwork era, where we’ve taken the thrashier early days and dressed it in a new heavier suit. Lyrics are dealing with the urge of belonging and fitting in - and how it in the end can be disastrous as you abandon your true self."

The new single comes ahead of the band's huge UK and EU tour with In Flames and Arch Enemy. UK dates as follows:

03.10. UK Glasgow – Academy
04.10. UK Manchester – Manchester Academy

Soilwork Debuts New Music Video

Soilwork continues to please their fans by releasing the second single from their upcoming album "Övergivenheten." After already delivering the title track of their new long-player some weeks ago, the Swedes now release the next single called "Nous Sommes La Guerre." This track represents the next massive piece of their highly anticipated album. which is due on August 19th.

Soilwork about the new single:
"‘Nous Sommes la Guerre’ evolved around a 'fight or flight' theme. The song is about internal struggles and confronting your own worst sides. It’s a cry for help in defeating the darkness inside of you and move towards a brighter path."

The extraordinary artwork for the new single is created by Argavilda who has a very singular view on the band's latest output.
His thoughts about "Nous Sommes La Guerre" and his interpretation of it:

"The idea is to peel the skin of the narrator to reveal the individual layers and see what makes the individual. All the scarred and murky sides being laid bare the deeper you dig. Crying golden blood because there are no more tears. It is a person's soul searching to find answers and exposing themselves to ask for help. My interpretation of the lyrics is intricately connected to being lost and realising, that you must build yourself up anew and that you cannot do it alone." More...

Exes For Eyes Uploads New Music Video

As people across the northern hemisphere brace for winter, Canada’s Exes For Eyes are releasing a new single, the aptly named "The End Of Summer." This will be the first music released from the band since 2019, and they are eager to get back into the ears of fans. Featuring Björn Strid of Soilwork, the idea behind the single was to question our integrity as a species. "Do we as western humans have the ability to toughen up? Or are we basically just fucked on a biblical scale?" Exes For Eyes continue to explain the track:

"It can be heavy, it can be subdued, it has tension and release, and a few good old-fashioned earworms. Having Björn onboard has only solidified that this is a song with something special. When we sent him the pre-production, he instantly knew this was a song that had substance. 'Your best work' he called it. It has the ability to uplift you to euphoria, and the bottom will instantly drop out, leaving you wondering what exactly happened and looking for a repeat play."

Essentially a metaphor for the amazing quality of life we take for granted, the song explores the notion that without facing true adversity in life, we are becoming soft and approaching the end of that golden era. This single is the first of four, which will make up an internet fourth release, due to the global situation, the band is taking the time to perfect this next offering and give it the revel it deserves when the time is right.

Exes For Eyes has been going for almost ten years, during which they released three albums, toured heavily, and shared the stage with an impressive list of metal titans. They have a level of cohesion that only comes with that much experience. More...
