Vision Divine Streaming Unreleased Demo

Italy's Vision Divine is streaming an unreleased demo track entitled "Child Of Tomorrow." The song was recorded in the pre-production stage for the latest LP "Destination Set to Nowhere" (see review over here). It was dropped from the list of tracks that eventually would make up the release.

When asked by Metal Underground.com whether the song would be reworked an used as a track for the next Vision Divine album, guitarist/songwriter Olaf Thörsen explained: "The fact is that it's really hard to rework a song and make it fit into another album, which will surely have other atmospheres and 'colours.' Back then, we found this song too 'progressive' in the verse and too long in the solo break. We should have cut something and made the verse a bit more straight, especially in terms of the vocal line, but that's when we eventually came up writing 'The Lighthouse' (which was supposed just to add some variations to this song, but ended to be a complete new one) and we chose that one. We will see, but maybe once we enter the studios again we could at least simply re-record it and give it a shiny bombastic sound, then release it as a bonus track."

Olaf Thörsen Provides Update On Labyrinth

Guitarist/songwriter Olaf Thörsen posted an update on the status of both Labyrinth and Vision Divine. In a post on his official Facebook Page, he stated that Labyrinth material is almost completed and this month he will begin work on the new Vision Divine album.

The post reads:

"Sorry for the quite long silence, but as you will read here, I'm quite busy at the moment. Anyway, this is a news update, so let's go...

"Some news from the front:

"Labyrinth: the new promo, with 5 new songs, is almost ready. We're finishing the last parts (including a couple of solos from me) then it's ready to go.

"Vision Divine: Tomorrow it's July and as planned, I will start the songwriting for the new album. I already have 4-5 songs in my mind, so I'm pretty sure it won't take too long before we can start handling something consistent. DSTN has set the bar quite high, but I'm pretty sure we can do even better." More...

Vision Divine Cancel South American Tour

Italian melodic power metallers VISION DIVINE, the brainchild of ex-LABYRINTH mastermind Olaf Thörsen, have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We are sorry and shocked for what just happened. Without any [notice], and even worse, after many promises from third parties who were managing the tour, we discovered just now, once arrived in the USA, that the Latin tour won't take place because of too many problems with flight tickets and many other things that are even impossible to be explained. We are simply shocked and surprised by seeing how things have been managed. We feel ripped off as surely should feel those who already bought tickets to our shows. We are also gonna sue somebody for what happened, but this won't change the mess. More...

We can’t tell more at the moment, but we’re trying to solve the problem somehow. Sorry for the inconvenience. Of course you will be updated here, through the website, and newsletter."

In more upbeat news, Vision Divine have announced a chat session with new bassist Cristiano Bertocchi. The chat is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22nd at 9 PM (Italian time). For any questions email maximus@visiondivine.com.
