Austria's Darkside has issued the following announcement about a new lineup and working on a 20th anniversary album:
"Great news from the Darkside camp this month. The band is forming in great shape and has a totally new, amazing line-up. Austria's longest active death metal band is currently concentrating on putting together the song list for their upcoming 20 year anniversary album 'XX-Deca(y)ed – Throne of the Deathgod.'
"Darkside's line-up is completing, featuring the exiting talents of Bernd Brodträger on guitars, a young guitar hero from Darkside's hometown Wiener Neustadt, who is involved in projects such as Bled Dry, Pereat and Vienna´s melodic deathers Devanic, Janos Murri, extraordinary Italian guitar wizard from the ranks of Demolition and Priority and Andrea Rabuini on drums, formerly of Infernal Poetry and Ephel Duath. Vocals are being handled by Wolf. The band is still looking for a bass player, so everyone who feels in grade to fill the vacant spot and has a passion for progressive death metal can leave his mark under email@example.com under the moniker of 'deepdownmadness.' Austrian metallers, Darkside, have parted ways with drummer Lukas Siska. They have released the following statements regarding the situation:
"Lukas has decided that other things are more important to him than being a member of Darkside, so unfortunately this leads to the situation of Darkside being without a drummer at this moment. The band has to cancel all upcoming shows for the next time until a replacement will be found. We will keep you updated. Sadly enough this also means that the band cannot take part in the prestigious STP Metalweekend in St. P'lten, on Saturday September 20, 2008. We are very sorry, but this is beyond our control." Following the forced cancellation of their November 30th show in Prague, Czech Republic, DARKSIDE have issued the following update:
We are sorry to tell you, that Darkside are forced to cancel their second show in Czech Republic tonight also. Due to unavailability of seats in the plane to Prague today at 12.45, Janos is not able to join us for this show. As Janos for the moment is the only available guitarist (Peter D. is sick and Pit is no longer available for Darkside´s live activities), there is no other possibility for us than to cancel the show. We are very sorry about how things developed, but it´s something we face improvise and unprepared to be honest. Yesterday evening it looked like Janos would get the plane today, so he called me to confirm and that we could pick him up at the airport in Prague whereas this morning we had to learn that there was no available seats in the plane. Changing over to another airline would have increased the ticket price to approx. 900 Euros one way, which is way to much.
We are very sorry indeed because Czech Republic has been a second home to Darkside throughout the 16 years of our musical career and our fans over there have always been very loyal and a great support, but in fact we cannot do anything at this moment. We will try to come back as soon as possible to see all our friends in Czech Republic - until then, stay metal."
Austria's DARKSIDE have issued the following message:
"Due to the nationwide cancellation of trains and most of all flights from Milano today, our guitar player Janos cannot join us for tonight's show in Prague and therefor we are sorry to tell you that we have to cancel the show, because Janos at this moment is the only guitar player available for Darkside."
"We are very sorry for our Czech fans, especially the people from Prague and surrounding areas and we try to do all we can to save the show tomorrow near Kolin."
"We will keep you posted about this issue. Again we ask for your kind understanding but unfortunately this is beyond our possibilities of taking action."
