Personally I am always looking for perfection but in the case of this live album I truly believe it had to sound live and maintain both live playing and feeling at 100%."
Vocalist Fabio Lione adds: "This live album it's the concrete proof that this band is strong and willing to keep playing and producing music for all our fans out there for the years to come." More...

Rhapsody/Rhapsody Of Fire guitarist/co-founder Luca Turilli provided an exclusive interview with Markus Wosgien, head of promotion for Nuclear Blast Records regarding the amicable split and future of Rhapsody Of Fire and his new Luca Turilli's Rhapsody project.
Turilli explained the recent amicable split between the two bands: "First of all let me tell you that Alex (Staropoli) and I had a lot of fun while hearing some comments following the announcement of the friendly split of RHAPSODY OF FIRE. In particular, I heard the comments of some people imagining a lot of weird things or thinking that I was the one who left the band because of this or that reason. Honestly this is really absurd and nothing is more untrue.
"The only reality is that in the end of 2010 Alex and I, together - and I underline: together -, agreed that after FROM CHAOS TO ETERNITY (the 10th official RHAPSODY OF FIRE album which closed the cycle of releases related with our saga), we would have went on with our careers separately. This because after 20 years of great and unique collaboration the feeling, while working together, was not the same anymore and so, due to the strong respect we have for each other, we decided to take this important decision.
We also agreed everything about the way the band split and the fact of keeping for both the name RHAPSODY, in respect of all the unique efforts and the personal economical investment we both made in these years to make this name stronger and stronger in the market. So, again, all was decided really in a friendly way between two people respecting themselves at all levels. Therefore no conspiracy theories or something like that ha ha, instead just the honest will of proceeding separately in order to find new artistic stimulations. Be also sure that there won’t be any competition between the two RHAPSODY bands, we are too old for those kind of games ha ha. I love Alex and want for him the best possible success. I also take the chance of wishing the best to the new members of RHAPSODY OF FIRE: TOM HESS and ROBERTO DE MICHELI. They are great people and ultra-skilled musicians, a sure guarantee of great music at the highest artistic levels for all the fans of Alex and Fabio’s band!" More...
Co-founding member of Rhapsody/Rhapsody of Fire and guitarist Luca Turilli announced his new project "Luca Turilli's Rhapsody," which was in accordance with the recent mutual split between himself and keyboardist Alex Staropoli.
In the split, Staropoli continues on with Rhapsody of Fire and now, in what is bound to cause some confusion, begins the emergence of Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, which bears the essentially the same logo as Rhapsody of Fire. Luca Turilli's Rhapsody posted a new teaser video for the "new beginning" which announces that the band will release an album in June of 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Italy's innovators of "Film Score Metal" have just revealed the first official band photo of the new line-up (shown below). After the friendly split with founding member and guitarist Luca Turilli a short while ago, the new line-up is as follows:
Vocals – Fabio Lione
Keyboards – Alex Staropoli
Guitars – Roberto De Micheli
Guitars – Tom Hess
Bass – Oliver Holzwarth
Drums – Alex Holzwarth
The band is currently booking shows for a tour in 2012 to be announced later this year.
Rhapsody Of Fire has announced the band's new second guitar player will be Roberto De Micheli. The band commented on the lineup change:
"After weeks of considering whom among thousands of guitar players would be chosen to join the band on their upcoming world tour, Rhapsody Of Fire had finally selected the very best guitarist out of many great guitar players wanting to tour with them."
Alex Staropoli also added, “With so many very good guitar players to chose from, it took time and great care to find the absolute best guitar player for us. In the end, we decided on Roberto De Micheli due to his complete mastery of the guitar, his unique abilities to amaze all those who hear and watch him play live, and his complete dedication as a musician. I have known Roberto De Micheli since the early 1990's. The decision to finally chose him over all other guitarists in the world to play with us became very obvious and natural the more we considered all our options. After so many years, he is still highly devoted to his instrument.
"He remains passionate and enthusiastic about rehearsing and playing music many hours every day. He is also a perfect fit for Rhapsody Of Fire because he continues the band’s tradition of being a truly professional, polite and a positive person to work with. Roberto De Micheli and Tom Hess are already working together on their guitar parts for the upcoming Rhapsody Of Fire tour, that's just very exciting! The huge anticipation of the band’s new lineup, sound and upcoming world tour has been something much greater and more exciting than we have ever experienced before from fans all over the world.”
Rhapsody Of Fire announced the addition of new bass player, Oliver Holzwarth of Blind Guardian. Oliver is the brother of drummer Alex Holzwarth. Recently, the band amicably split with guitarist and co-founder Luca Turilli and Patrice Guers, leaving remaining members Fabio Lione, co-founder Alex Starapoli, Tom Hess and Alex Holzwarth to carry on the band. The full report on the split was previously reported on by Metal Underground at this location.
The official announcement on the band's website reads:
"The band Rhapsody Of Fire is proud to announce the name of a new band member who will join forces with Fabio Lione, Alex Staropoli, Tom Hess and Alex Holzwarth. German bass player Oliver Holzwarth (brother of Rhapsody Of Fire drummer Alex Holzwarth) has joined the band as an official and permanent member of Rhapsody Of Fire, and will be involved in both live performances and studio recordings.
"Oliver is an excellent bass player who has toured with Blind Guardian, Tarja Turunen and Sieges Even and has recorded several studio albums with Blind Guardian.
"Alex Staropoli says: 'It's a true privilege and honor to have the two Holzwarth brothers playing together in Rhapsody Of Fire. I am sure it will be fantastic to have the best rhythmic section on this planet, a unique and true force of nature, on our side. I am really looking forward to hearing them shaking the stages around the world on our upcoming world tour.' "
Singer Fabio Lione is currently on tour as guest vocalist with Kamelot in North America.
