New York hardcore legends MADBALL will shoot a video for the song "Infiltrate the System" on Wednesday, September 12 at 3:45 p.m. (sharp) on 12th Avenue and 25th Street in New York City. "Anyone and everyone is invited," says the band. "We're looking for people from all walks of life, so wear what you would normally wear... be it a suit, work clothes, or a t-shirt and jeans. Be there!!!"
MADBALL's new album, "Infiltrate the System", was released on August 21 in the U.S. on Ferret Music (in Europe on I Scream, in South America on Liberation, in Australia on Resist). Last year marked the inaugural Sounds of the Underground tour, which saw 17 of the best and most brutal metal acts around traverse the U.S. and Canada in what proved to be a very successful alternative to the more commercial Ozzfest. The tour hit the parking lot of the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on July 2nd, 2005, and with it came almost 5000 fans. Metal bands like A Life Once Once Lost and Strapping Young Lad hammered out their sets alongside hardcore acts like Madball and Throwdown in the sweltering 95+ degree midday heat. As the sun began to set, stalwarts like Chimaira, Poison the Well and From Autumn to Ashes played well into the darkness. All of the passion and power of that day is captured in Sounds of the Underground Live: Vol. 1, which will hit streets on June 20th.
DRT Entertainment will be releasing the DVD which documents the day's festivities, complete with performances from 16 of the 17 artists who participated in the tour. Along with over 90 minutes of performance footage, the DVD also features vignettes on every band on the tour, along with a host of hilarious 'guest interview' segments from members of GWAR, Every Time I Die and Throwdown. The DVD was filmed by Doug Spangenberg of Highroller Studios (Lamb of God's Killadelphia).
Featuring live performances from:
All That Remains
A Life Once Lost
High on Fire
Strapping Young Lad
Every Time I Die
Poison the Well
From Autumn to Ashes
Lamb of God
Zao have been forced to drop off of the remaining dates of Ferret Music's "Under The Gun Tour" due to an injury sustained by frontman Daniel Weyandt. Co-Headliners Madball and Remembering Never, in addition to support acts The Banner and Scarlet, will continue the tour as scheduled.
Weyandt broke four bones in his left-hand as a result of a "back-stage mishap." The accident resulted in a sizeable cut that apparently exposed one bone for over 12 hours and became ultimately infected. Three different doctors have ordered the singer to return home immediately and visit a specialist. Fortunately, Weyandt is expected to make a full recovery.
Zao guitarist Scott Mellinger issued the following statement:
"We can't apologize more strongly to the other bands and especially our fans who were planning on seeing us on the remaining dates. We want nothing more than for Dan to get better and we fully intend to crush once again with Dan on the Demon Hunter tour this summer."
