I remember being at an Articles of Faith show back in the early 1980s in Chicago and thinking, "This is where I belong, these are my people." It's not 1982 anymore and you can't expect things to sound the same. The lines have blurred and you can nearly start a riot on some corners trying to define who and what is hardcore. Much of what is called hardcore these days has strong metal influences and sounds much different from what was called hardcore back in the day.
I'm a fan of lots of the old school stuff which came out of the punk scene but I also like a some of the newer 'metalcore' stuff. That being said, here are some of the recordings that are in my player or in the car on a regular basis: More...

Be there!!!"
MADBALL's new album, "Infiltrate the System", was released on August 21 in the U.S. on Ferret Music (in Europe on I Scream, in South America on Liberation, in Australia on Resist). New York hardcore legends MADBALL have posted the following update:
“Here’s what’s up for the month of June….We just did a short run with our boys in TERROR, 100 DEMONS, and our new friends from HAVE HEART. If you came out to any of these shows, then you know that we had a great time on this tour. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the bands. In regards to the St. Louis show, we regret the unfortunate circumstances (beyond our control) that prevented us from playing our full set. A huge thanks to our loyal fans for your understanding, and we’ll be back next time to give you the show you deserve.
You’ll notice that we’ve updated the music player on here, to include a taste of the new record. “Infiltrate The System” is the title track from the upcoming album, due out in August. Enjoy!
Next up, the Canadian invasion!”
Madball has completed the recording process for their sixth full-length release, titled "Infiltrate The System." The effort was recorded at Planet Z Recording in Massachusetts with producer/engineer Zeuss. Ferret Music will release "Infiltrate The System" in August in North America. The European release will be handled by I Scream Records while Australia will be serviced by Resist Records.
