Missouri metallers Harkonin have announced they will enter Firebrand Studio in November to begin recording "Detest," their fourth album. "We are very much looking forward to it," says drummer Clayton Gore. "It's the first time we've properly recorded new material in over three years, and a lot has changed for us in that time. We've been working hard on pre-production, which is something we've never really done before. This album will be much more focused, more tight, and an accurate representation of where we are musically." The album features artwork by Mark Cooper of Mindrape Art, which can be viewed here.
The track listing will be as follows:
1. Into Oblivion
2. Ruled By Tyrants
3. Chaos Anthem
5. The Sleeper Has Awakened
6. Black Storm Jackals
7. Spiritual Hypnosis
8. Exhauster Of Souls

HARKONIN, the St. Louis, Missouri-based "blackened war metal" act featuring former EULOGY drummer Clayton Gore, has uploaded a new song entitled "Chaos Anthem" to the group's MySpace page. The demo recording is a sample of the new material the band is working on for the group's as-yet untitled new album, to be released in early 2009 via Battlegod Productions.
Commented Gore: "The song was recorded in our home studio using an electronic drum kit, so it's far from a final product."
He added: "We have been getting quite a few questions about our status since the February release of our album 'Ghanima' on Battlegod. People seem to be confused that Battlegod is reissuing our 2006 effort rather than new material initially, so we wanted to share something from our pre-production demos with everyone.
"We are absolutely still active! We plan to enter the studio later this year to begin recording. We already have seven songs complete. This is just to give everyone a little taste of what we're up to."
Battlegod Productions recently signed a North American distribution agreement with Century Media. The label is distributed elsewhere in the world via Twilight-Vertrieb.
After a long hiatus, founding member Jarrett Pritchard has invoked the core trio of Tampa's now legendary death metal outfit EULOGY. Rejoined by Jason Avery, who spent many years fronting MONSTROSITY and drummer Clayton Gore of St. Louis' HARKONIN, the band is set to record a new album beginning on September 6 in Orlando with Jarrett at the controls.
Commented Jarrett: "At this point I have completed eight songs for the record and it promises not to dissapoint. On bass we have enlisted Mike Pogionne of MONSTROSITY/LECHEROUS NOCTURNE and at this time second guitar duties will be filled by none other than longtime friend Rob Barrett (CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATE PLOW, MALEVOLENT CREATION, SOLSTICE). At this point we have not approached any labels about the release and we intend to have the cap on it December 15, 2007 for an early 2008 release."
With the mixing and recording process, which began on March 29th, finally complete, Harkonin have revealed the final tracklisting for their upcoming release "Ghanima":
1) Mystic Gates of Sorrow
2) The Darkside Calls
3) L.ost C.ause
6) Cult of Sin
8) Nocturnal Rebirth
9) Sons of War
In addition, the entire "Sermons of Anguish" album, released June of 2005, has been remixed for 2006 and will be added as bonus tracks to this release. "Ghanima" is expected to be released by mid-to-late August. The cover realisation by Clayton Gore can be seen here. This album is being mastered by Jarrett Pritchard at the Audio Spacing Guild.
An unmastered version of the complete song "The Darkside Calls" has been made available for download here.
