COLDWORKER/ex-NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has issued the following update:
"So how about this — there will be a new NASUM album in 2008! Yes, a final album and then nothing more. It's the live recording from Japan 2004 that has been in the archives for quite a while. It's a little bit confusing but I'll try to explain everything as clear as possible:"
"First, there will be a split with NAPALM DEATH, a limited-edition picture disc released by Feto very soon... Can't really be specific about the release date at this point."
"Then, the NASUM side of the split will be a stand-alone CD called 'Doombringer' on Relapse. This is a digipack release that apart from the 16 songs also will include Mitch Harris video for 'Scoop' and liner notes by me. The album will be released March 4th and can be pre-ordered from Relapse now. There might be an LP version of 'Doombringer' as well; I have at least OK'd the artwork for the LP."
Drummer Anders Jakobson of the Örebro, Sweden-based "blasting" death metal band COLDWORKER — which consists of current and former/current members of such acts as NASUM, RELENTLESS, CARNAL GRIEF, RUIN and PHOBOS — has issued the following update:
"It's less than two weeks until we start recording the second COLDWORKER album (yet untitled). More details regarding the recording will come soon.
"As of today we have written and rehearsed all 14 songs for the album, just some vocal arrangements and lyrics left until they are completely finished. We will also rehearse a cover song for the Japanese release, song and original artist to be announced later...
"The second COLDWORKER album will be a very intense record. We've worked hard on the songs during all of 2007 and we've cut every corner to make the songs as good as possible. Can't wait to share them with you all.
"The current list of titles are as follows: 'The Black Dog Syndrome', 'Deliverance Of The Rejected', 'Citizens Of The Cyclopean Maze', 'Comatose State', 'The Machine', 'The Last Bitter Twist', 'Scare Tactics', 'Identify With The Aggressor', 'Paradox Lost', 'I Am The Doorway', 'Cold World Paranoia' plus three yet-untitled songs."
COLDWORKER's debut album, "The Contaminated Void", was recorded in June 2006 and mixed by Dan Swanö. The CD was issued in the U.S. on January 23, 2007 via Relapse Records.

Former Nasum drummer Anders Jakobson, since founder of Coldworker, has issued the following update:
"A copy of [Nasum's] Grindwork is available on eBay right now: link to the auction.
The seller is a friend of mine and 100% reliable. Now you have a chance to get one of the rarest Nasum releases out there!"
Coldworker drummer Anders Jakobson checks in from the road, currently on tour with Misery Index and Dew-Scented throughout Europe, to vent some much needed misery at the ongoing challenges they face as they take thier fledgling Swedish death metal to the masses.
"The (München, Germany) show was OK, we are sort of suffering from "first band disease" which means that the people who are coming to these shows are basically there to rock out to Misery Index and Dew-Scented. But never mind - it's fun to play anyway."
The three bands went on to play Schweinfurt with Converge, Rise and Fall, Animosity, Job for a Cowboy, Bring me the Horizon and a few others, but things weren't really looking up. Jakobsen tries to look on the bright side, "The crowd was a little bit held back, but the venue was quite cool and of course I got to see Converge again.
The night ended with a loud thunderstorm, which was rumoured to come during the festival, but fortunately it came while we were in our hotel beds." More...

Credited with having created some of the most challenging and devastating death metal in its three-album career, ORIGIN is an incredible addition to this blistering package as the replacement for COLDWORKER, who had to pull off the trek due to "scheduling conflicts." Dubbed the "Carving Europe's Epitaph Vol. II" tour, the bill is rounded out by BURNING SKIES opening the first half of the tour while U.S. act DISKREET will be opening up the second half of the tour.

Relapse Records announces the signing of Sweden’s COLDWORKER.
COLDWORKER features former NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson and includes guitarists Anders Baerilsson and Andre Alvinzi, bassist Oskar Palsson, and vocalist Joel Fornbrant. The band, formed by Jakobson in January, has been hard at work on their debut album The Contaminated Void.
On the development of The Contaminated Void, which contains the band’s first songs, Jakobson says: “This is probably the fastest first album ever made! I mean we've gone from not knowing each other to having a mastered copy of our first full length recording in our hands in approximately five months.” Fornbrant adds: “I hope people will get a good feeling of spontaneity listening to the album.”
“The reason everything came together so quickly,” Jakobson continues, “is because all the members are deeply involved in the songwriting process. It sort of clicked from the first rehearsal in February and we've surfed on that creative wave ever since, sacrificing lots of hours in the rehearsal room. We came out with something that was both fast and furious but also heavy and a little bit technical. Playing these songs has been something of a challenge for me as the style is completely different from what I’ve done before. I can’t wait to share these songs with the world!”
The Contaminated Void was recorded by the band this past June and mixed by Dan Swano. Advance song titles include: “The Interloper”, “An Unforgiving Season”, “The Contaminated Void”, “Return To Ashes”, “Strain At The Leash”, “Flammable”, “Antidote”, “Heart Shaped Violence” and “Generations Decay”. The Contaminated Void is expected to see a European release this Fall, followed by a North American release in early 2007. A three minute audio sampling of The Contaminated Void can be heard here.
COLDWORKER, featuring former NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson, are currently in the studio working on the band's debut album, entitled The Contaminated Void. The band is recording the album by themselves to be mixed by Dan Swanö and mastered by Peter In de Betou. The album will include 14 tracks and a 15th track on the Japanese edition. Jakobson has posted this latest studio report at the band's website:
"The second week was slightly shorter working-wise due to the annual Hultsfred festival in Sweden. Anders B (Bertilsson - guitars) went there as early as Tuesday and I went back and forth on Friday. But we managed to record some stuff anyway.
On Monday we continued tracking the guitar. As mentioned above, Anders B had to finish his guitars as fast as possible due to the Hultsfred trip so we scheduled two sessions with him and one with André in the middle.
