Billboard.com reports: Contrary to rumors that Faith No More will reform to play the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April, the group's frontman Mike Patton will perform at the event in tandem with beatboxer Rahzel.
Patton and Rahzel have worked on an album-length collaboration that has yet to see official release, but Rahzel appeared on Patton's 2006 self-titled album as Peeping Tom, and the two acts also guested on Bjork's 2007 album "Medulla."
Faith No More split in 1998 after touring in support of the previous year's "Album of the Year."
Mike Patton's new band, Crudo, is playing a top secret warm up show in San Francisco at Great American Music Hall on Thursday May 22nd. Tickets just went on sale a couple days ago. This will be the first ever appearance of the Mike Patton/Dan the Automator project. It is the warm up show for their appearance at the Sasquatch festival at the Gorge in Washington on May 24th.
There has been no word on when the record will be released as of yet.

Mike Patton (ex-FAITH NO MORE, MR. BUNGLE and currently of PEEPING TOM, FANTOMAS and MONDO CANE amongst others) steps into the world of film with I Am Legend and A Perfect Place.
Patton's shape-shifting vocals will be heard in movie theaters across the country this month as he lends his voice to the dreaded creatures in I Am Legend, the post-apocalyptic film set for release on December 14th.
Next up is Patton’s debut as a film composer with the film noir short, A Perfect Place. The 20-plus minute film also marks the directorial debut of Derrick Scocchera, one of the founders of Fantoma Films, best known for their catalog of rare, cult films reissued on DVD. The score creatively reflects the style and tone of the film, which focuses on a pair of bumbling friends trying to dispose of a body. The film, shot in anamorphic black and white, will be packaged as a double-disc with the score and distributed together via Ipecac Recordings in March of 2008.
While Patton’s film work is relatively new, he’s previously appeared in 2005's award-winning independent film Firecracker and has already provided vocals to several video games including The Darkness and The Portal. 2008 finds him as the lead in the video game Bionic Commando and contributing vocal effects to Left 4 Dead.
Mike Patton spoke recently to Billboard.com about touring with the newest of his outfits, Peeping Tom; "It's been funny - out of the gate this band has been a hard one to put together with eight or nine people," said Patton. "It varies. Every tour I've done has been different members through different schedules. Also, we've gotten offers to open for a lot of different bands and some of them have been exotic and intriguing and we've chosen to explore those options as opposed to doing our own tour, so it was put off for those reasons as well."
Unusally, the band is taking a very relaxed approach to their setlist, as Mike explained: "Having an eight-piece band, everyone is playing loud at all times and it's nice to break it down and show everybody all of the elements that are going on," he says. "It's quite an octopus, quite a beast and it's fun to play with that. We just don't play Peeping Tom tunes." Mike also stated that audiences can expect to hear solo material from its touring members' careers and even a few covers as well as Peeping Tom tunes.
On how he can run with so many different projects, Patton commented "Some artists can work under one guise, whether it's a name or a band or doing film soundtracks, put all of their ideas in one pot and move on. Me, I need to compartmentalize. I put things in little boxes and like to have a lot of toys to play with and that's the way I view these bands. That's what keeps me interested and motivated."
As previously reported, Mike is now busy with new records due later this year from Tomahawk and Moonchild, which features John Zorn. He also said that there were tentative plans for a 2008 Fantomas recording, which would be an "all electric" album, with "no acoustic instrumentation".
