"As Shadows Burn," the sophomore album by the female-fronted progressive metal band from Los Angeles ECHOES OF ETERNITY, recently debuted on the Billboard Top New Artist “Heatseeker’s” chart at #134 the week following its release date. This industry chart lists the best-selling albums by new artists who have never appeared on the Top 100 of the Billboard 200.
States EOE founding member/guitarist/songwriter Brandon S. Patton:
"We live in an age where it seems almost alien for the general public to purchase music legitimately. In that broader context, it’s a major achievement for ECHOES OF ETERNITY to have charted on Billboard at all, which is something that did not happen on our first album and is certainly a shift in the right direction. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who bought a copy of As Shadows Burn and enabled this to happen."
"As Shadows Burn" was produced and mixed by former Machine Head/Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader (Gojira, Divine Heresy, Five Finger Death Punch) and features album artwork by Gustavo Sazez (Old Man’s Child, Firewind, God Forbid).
You can view a three-and-a-half minute video trailer of footage from the band’s bonus DVD on ECHOES OF ETERNITY’s below.
Los Angeles’ female-fronted metallers Echoes of Eternity have debuted a new track entitled “Memories Of Blood And Gold” on their official MySpace page. The song comes from their upcoming sophomore album, "As Shadows Burn," which is set for North American release on September 22nd.
Guitarist / songwriter Brandon S. Patton shares some background on the track: “I saw a History Channel documentary on the impact gold has had on humanity over the course of history. I came up with the title of the song but Francine wrote the lyrics. It’s based loosely on the trampling of México and South America by the Spaniards in their pursuit of gold 400 years ago. I wrote the main riffs shortly after the Edguy tour ended in late 2007. I was inspired by Jon Schaffer's playing in Iced Earth and wanted to write some riffs that would seemingly fit in on one of their albums. My favorite part of the song is the riff immediately following the guitar solo - it’s just so heavy, thrashy and powerful. Makes me want to headbang every time I hear it. Also, at the beginning of the second verse, Francine does this really cool vocal melody over the main riff of the song.”
Los Angeles’ female-fronted progressive metallers Echoes of Eternity have debuted a new track entitled "Twilight Fires" on their official MySpace page. The song comes from their upcoming sophomore album, "As Shadows Burn," set for North American release on September 22, 2009.
Guitarist / songwriter Brandon S. Patton issued the following statement about the track:
“When we wrote this song, we asked ourselves, ‘What would it sound like if Francine [Boucher, vocalist] was singing for Morbid Angel or Dissection?’ This is what we came up with. It has a definite black metal/death metal feel to it. I don't think anyone's ever heard this type of female vocal with blast beats and double bass drumming in a context quite like this. It’s dark, seductive and powerful! The way Francine belts it out on this song blows my fucking mind and every one in the band loves the middle section of the song, where there is a slower ‘gallop-picked’ riff that is mean as fuck.”
The progressive metal band from Los Angeles comments, "There was a scene involving a teddy bear, a Ouija board, a crack pipe, and a bottle of Suave lotion that we had to leave out (insert sad face here). The good news is there are snippets of some of the best tunes on our new album and plenty of behind-the-scenes antics!" More...
California female fronted metallers Echoes of Eternity are currently streaming the new song "Ten of Swords" online at their MySpace page. The track is off their upcoming album "As Shadows Burn," which will be released on September 22nd.
Guitarist/songwriter Brandon S. Patton checks in from Los Angeles about ECHOES OF ETERNITY’s sophomore album:
"Working with Logan Mader on As Shadows Burn was amazing. We had a lot of respect for him from the start, given his experience as a professional guitarist with Machine Head in the ‘90s and the great work he's done as a mixer and producer in recent years, the most recent Gojira album being a prime example." As previously reported, ECHOES OF ETERNITY are currently on the road in North America with TRAIL OF TEARS (headliner) and UNEXPECT. The band have announced the cancellation of the remainder of their North American appearances.
Stated the band: "Francine (Boucher, vocals) has come down with bronchitis, she has lost her voice and is severely ill. Unfortunately these circumstances are beyond our control. Trail Of Tears and Unexpect will still be playing, be sure to check them out."
Montreal's "classical/black metal" act UNEXPECT has issued the following update:
"We already finished our first week of touring in the U.S. and all is going well! ECHOES OF ETERNITY and TRAIL OF TEARS are great guys to tour with and we can assume that the coming month of non-stop touring with them shall be an enjoyable one. The show we were supposed to do yesterday in Hartford has unfortunately been cancelled but you can be sure we'll be back eventually to give you a dose of musical wickedness."
"The legendary Quebec TV show 'Les Francs Tireurs' decided to dedicate one of their show to the Quebec metal scene and will pass a day with us, filming our next show in Montreal at the Foufounes Electriques on next January 23!! For those in the Montreal area, come in great numbers and let's show them a good slice of madness!" More...

After spending the summer months touring arenas alongside Dream Theater, the Canadian quintet Into Eternity heads back to the clubs tonight for a month-long run as direct support to Edguy, with Echoes of Eternity and Light This City rounding out the bill. This trek marks the group's fifth and likely final Stateside run in support of their critically acclaimed album, "The Scattering Of Ashes."
Due to popular demand, Tim Roth (guitars, vocals) recently posted several new guitar lessons on his YouTube page.
Roth states: "The Dream Theater tour was a dream come true for us. All of our interludes and progressive parts come from DT, so it was amazing to get to know them. It's a great feeling to meet people that you look up to and they end up being really nice people. I have never seen players that good in my life! The whole tour was a lot of fun and we ended up getting to play in some huge venues.
"We are just about to start the last tour for "The Scattering Of Ashes" campaign with Edguy, Echoes Of Eternity and Light This City. We are direct support to Edguy and toured with them in 2005, so I know the shows will be killer. Now, we have a much bigger fan base and we can't wait to see everybody on the road."
Into Eternity recently shot a stunning conceptual video for the track, "Timeless Winter", with up-and-coming director Don Thompson, and its stunning imagery is sure to help it stand apart from the pack. The video is featured in the group's new E-Card, which also has all of Roth's YouTube guitar lessons, in addition to a new photo gallery.
