Devildriver Completes "Fury" Tracking
This past Sunday (1/30), tracking on the upcoming DevilDriver CD - "The Fury of Our Maker's Hand" - officially concluded. In fact, the last track to have vocals layed down was the title track itself. Fourteen songs in all were recorded.
Not knowing that it could snow in Texas, yesterday (2/01) Dez woke up seeing white, and is currently waiting for a flight on a layover in Phoenix en route to Santa Barbara. "Feels good to be holding a full record," tells Dez from the Phoenix airport. "Going to go home and listen to it tonight relentlessly with Anahstasia."
The band would like to send thanks out to producer Colin Richardson for being such a wonderful guy during the recording of this CD, and everybody at Sonic Ranch (Tony, Justin, Bobby) for making their stay pleasant and giving DD a great atmosphere to create their art.
Mixing of "The Fury of Our Maker's Hand" will begin later this month.
The full band will convene again in a couple days to start rehearsing live. As for touring, all the details - when, where, with who - is being figured out now...nothing is in stone as of yet.
Devildriver Answers Fan Questions
Devildriver have started a new feature on their message forum where they answer the fans' questions. Here are some excerpts:
Question: Hey Devildriver!! How is everyone going? I hope you guys enjoyed Ozzfest 2004. I knew I did.
Anyhow.. I have some questions to ask.
-First, you say you hope on starting to tour in February. Where will you start first? Europe or USA? I would be a VERY HAPPY Fan to see your show on my birthday, it'd be awesome [To Be Near Vancouver,BC!].
-Second, I was wondering what direction or "sound" you guys are aiming for? Like are you going to completely change, or "change" but still contain some Devildriver sound as well?
-Third question (about upcoming tour) Do you know if you will come to Vancouver BC, or will you stay in the USA?
Thank You very much for looking at all our Devildriver questions and we hope to see you LIVE again soon. We Love You Driver!

Answer: we will tour everywhere and yes we enjoyed ozzfest and we will be coming to Vancouver real soon.
Question: Hey Guys....
I'm a true fan from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Everybody's talking about shows in Europe and USA...but have you guys considered Latin America? (MEXICO).
Guadalajara's fans are hungry for metal. We have recently seen some bands here like: Ill Niño, Therion, Morbid Angel, Asesino, Behemoth and other cool bands. But famous bands almost always go only to the capital (Mexico DF). Guadalajara is the second most important city in the country...I'd f**king kill myself you guys come. Please consider coming to GUADALAJARA, MEXICO it would be so cool for you fans over here, I'm going to tell all my friends that love Devildriver .
Answer: Yes we are trying to get to Latin America this year keep checking back.

DevilDriver Frontman Answer Fan Questions
Devildriver frontman Dez Fafara (ex-Coal Chamber) has answered a number of fan questions about the group's upcoming album and touring activities via the group's official web site.
Q: After you get your CD finished you said you may start touring in February. Now in February Slipknot and Lamb Of God start a tour, would there be any chance you will be touring with them?
Dez Fafara: We have been asked to do five shows with Slipknot (all of Texas) from March 28 to April 5. We confirmed this a week before Christmas, and we are excited to see everybody. We'd like to thank Slipknot and Lamb Of God for having us on, we'll see you soon. From there it could be possible to see Devildriver to start their first headlining tour of the U.S.
Q: Just wondering, is your new album sounding a lot heavier than the first?
Dez Fafara: Less linear, more brutal, and intricately structured, faster, tons of groove and hook. I think working with (producer) Colin Richardson has brought out the best in all of us. The greatest thing about Devildriver and the new album ("The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand") is that both the media and the fans won't be able to paint us in a category. We are truly doing our own thing, and having a great time with it. And you can feel it in the room as it is being created. And now I would like to take the time to be self-indulgent and gloat at the fact that Devildriver has great musicians. The legendary Colin Richardson has been amazing to work with. We would like to thank Monte Conner, from Roadrunner Records, for pointing us in his direction. But to be fucking blunt with you, if you are a Devildriver fan now you will be more than pleased with what you hear in the future.

We're all leaving for Cali on Wednesday (12/22) for the holidays, and we will resume recording in the New Year.
On the schedule for today:
- Play old school Nintendo games
- Finish bass tracks
- Enchiladas for lunch
Dez Checks In With Devildriver Studio Update
DevilDriver is in the studio, frontman Dez Fafara checks in:
"It's Monday. Everything is moving right along. We appreciate everybody coming back on the forum. Speaking of which, quite to the contrary, I do own a computer, and do know how to use one, more or less...and do try to check out the forum once in a great moon.
"Here's what's happening at the studio: 14 songs done on drums, 10 songs done on guitar, 4 songs done on bass, and I did my first vocal last night, on a song called 'Bear Witness Unto.' As this is being written, Mike is laying down more guitars. Look forward to a post from our producer Colin Richardson in the next couple of days for another view on what has been going on."
Devildriver Checks In With Studio Update
DevilDriver is currently in El Paso, Texas recording the follow-up release to their self-titled debut. To Tony at Sonic Ranch studios, if you are reading this, you have the band's gratitude for everything you have done for them thus far during the recording sessions. That being said, DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara checks in with the following:
First of all, DevilDriver would like to thank you all for a great year - anyone who supported us, bought the record, came to a show, our appreciation goes out to you. We'd also like to thank the following bands who believed in us and have taken us on tour over the past year: Superjoint Ritual, Morbid Angel. Opeth, In Flames, Caliban, and Ozzy, Sharon, and the whole Ozzfest camp.
Sorry no update in a while, but things have been extremely busy. Here's what is going on: We are currently in the studio with Colin Richardson, and having a great time. We started recording about 12 days ago, and are done with drums and well into the guitars. We've got 14 tracks, each one brutal as hell. All the musicians in this band, myself included, have stepped up. We're gonna wrap up 2 days before Christmas...and we're looking forward to a healthy dose of touring starting February 1st, the schedule is being worked out as we speak.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM DEVILDRIVER, LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU NEXT YEAR.

Blackest Of The Black Tour Cancelled
The much-anticipated "Blackest of the Black" U.S. Tour, which was set to feature headliners Danzing alongside Doyle (ex-Misfits), Mayhem, Death Angel, Devildriver and Eyes Of Fire, has been cancelled. "We are extremely upset by this news as the band has prepared for months and are in top shape to conquer the country!" Mayhem guitarist Blapshemer said in a statement. "Unfortunately, this decision was not made by us and beyond our control. From our side, everything was planned, confirmed, taken care of and verbally agreed with the management of and Danzig himself. If it was up to us, we would be on your shores within days! The fate of the tour was not in our hands, and I can't elaborate beyond that statement. However, don't get too comfortable. In the midst of winter, 2005, we shall return with the 'Rape Humanity with Pride Tour' complete a horrific stage presentation. So, to all our fans, stay Black and we will see you all early next year. The beast of Mayhem cannot be stopped!!"
