Abbath Added To Bloodstock 2023 Lineup

Following Devildriver's decision to pull out of Bloodstock Open Air 2023 due to frontman Dez Fafara's health, and the announcement that Nonpoint will not be performing at festival, the organisers of the festival has announced that black metal legend Abbath and his eponymous band will be stepping in on the main stage, while Pest Control will replace Nonpoint. A message from the staff reads as follows:

"With 135 days to go to Bloodstock, are we allowed to start a countdown yet?! Spring is officially here and though the festival has some disappointing news to share first, there is also a plethora of excellent news and lots more still to reveal while we’re (im)patiently waiting for August to roll around. You can also tune in to the next Facebook Live on Thursday, 6th April at 7pm. We can’t promise festival management will be wearing Easter bunny ears, but we can promise some Easter goodies. Keep an eye out on Bloodstock’s socials next week too for a little Easter competition…!

Unfortunately, we have to share that both Nonpoint and DevilDriver have pulled out of the festival this summer. Putting on a festival involves a lot of moving parts, and Bloodstock is as disappointed and frustrated as its audience when things crop up which the festival has no control over - after all, Bloodstock wants to deliver the very best possible festival for you and works hard year round to curate an stellar line-up. Dez from DevilDriver has shared the following message (see below) and we wish Dez all the best with his continuing recovery. More...

Cradle Of Filth To Tour US With Devildriver

Extreme metal icons, Cradle Of Filth, and groove metal pioneers, DevilDriver, announce their upcoming 2023 US co-headline tour, beginning March 8 in Tempe, AZ. The first leg of the "Double Trouble Live" tour will visit several popular western and southern US markets, coming to an end in Albuquerque, NM on March 26. Support will come from Black Satellite and Oni.

Tickets go on sale this Friday the 13th at 10 AM, local time. Check local venues and artist homepages for tickets and more information. Get your tickets now before it's too late. The second leg is planned for later this year, so stay tuned to learn when this killer bill will be headed to your town.

Cradle Of Filth mastermind Dani Filth states: "Cradle Of Filth are maniacally looking forward to this two-pronged headline assault with fellow noisemongers DevilDriver. Frontman Dez has been a friend for years and a brilliant manager to boot, and to head out on the road for what promises to be the first leg of the ‘Double Trouble Live’ world tour with him and the band was an opportunity far too good to pass on.

"We are chomping at the bit to get out on the west coast again after our very successful run supporting Danzig last summer, and this eclectic tour package is so heavy it’s literally going to GRIND faces to a pulp. Which, in this line of work, is a good thing!

"So see you guys (and ghouls) out on the road for what promises to be twelve devastating nights of musical mayhem and debauch! Definitely a killer tour not to be missed!" More...

Devildriver Posts New Music Video Online

DevilDriver recently announced the release of their upcoming double album, "Dealing With Demons." The first volume - entitled "Dealing With Demons I" - drops on October 9 via Napalm Records and marks the band’s first release of new, original material since 2016's acclaimed "Trust No One."

Today, DevilDriver is following up on the release of the burgeoning single/video "Keep Away From Me" and the haunting single/video "Iona" with a third single - the fast-paced burner "Nest Of Vipers". Harking back to the heavy, melodic, dark groove that DevilDriver patented at their start while remaining entirely modern and fresh, "Nest Of Vipers" winds its way into the listener’s psyche with metallic chugging and southern-fried leads, gritty, grooving riffs and a heightened dose of amplified energy and intensity. Co-written by frontman Dez Fafara and guitarist Neal Tiemann, the lyrics to "Nest Of Vipers" explore themes of true loyalty and the notion that friendship is not a commodity for sale!

Frontman Dez Fafara says about "Nest Of Vipers" and working with guitarist Neal Tiemann on their first lyrical collaboration: "This is my first co-written lyric on any DevilDriver track with another band member, penned with our guitarist Neal Tiemann. Working with Neal is a good time. We always want what's best for the song. More...
