Five Finger Death Punch has issued the following announcement about playing a Halloween show in Kansas City:
"Five Finger Death Punch will once again join 98.9 The Rock in Kansas City on October 23rd this year to headline their Halloween show, Freaker’s Ball. Sevendust, Drowning Pool, and 10 Years are also on the bill.
"Tickets go on sale this Friday, 9/24 at 10am for $35- but there is a special pre-sale for 5FDP fans from Wednesday 9/22 at 10am to Thursday 9/24 at 11:59pm! Pre-sale tickets are just $25- that’s a crazy deal for a great show. Check out the details at 98-9 The Rock's website.

Sorry Xbox 360 rockers, but not every week can be a winner, and it seems like we're hitting a little dead spot for new metal tracks on the Rock Band Network. The only song that comes close to deserving the title this week is from electronic rock/metal act Rivethead. The PS3 will get another Exodus track on the 21st, and the Wii edition continues to play catch up with Five Finger Death Punch and Amberian Dawn. The weekend has officially hit again, and Rock Band is ready to jam out when you are. This week's metal additions to the Xbox 360 version of the Rock Band Network are a little sparse, with new songs from In This Moment and Firewind. The Wii edition is playing metal catch-up, with songs from Five Finger Death Punch and Between the Buried and Me showing up on September 14th. Five Finger Death Punch has checked in with the following update about performing at Japan's upcoming Loud Park festival 2010:
"Five Finger Death Punch are pleased to announce they will be performing at Japan's Loud Park Festival this October. The festival will be held the weekend of October 16-17, with more details to come in the next few weeks."

Thomas G. Fischer (aka Tom G. Warrior,) the founder of the legendary metal bands Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, and most recently Triptykon, was honoured in London this week when he received the prestigious Golden God award for inspiration. The award was presented to him at the Indigo2/O2 Arena by Cathedral frontman Lee Dorrian. When accepting the award, Fischer stated:
"In my opinion, however, I don't deserve this award. It should instead go to Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Angel Witch, and Venom, artists who have inspired me and without whom I would not be here tonight."

Five Finger Death Punch has checked in with the following statement about being detained and then released in Germany:
"German police had detained Jeremy Spencer, Zoltan Bathory and Matt Snell of Five Finger Death Punch en route to the Rock Am Ring Festival the band is scheduled to play on June 4th. The Munich Police Department alerted the Nurnberg Airport Police - where a group of officers took the musicians into custody for alleged international weapons violations. After recognizing the event as a misunderstanding, German police released the band members and they will appear at both Rock Am and Rock Im Ring festivals as scheduled."

The organisers of Britains Download festival has announced a further twenty two additions to this years lineup. Glam metal veterans Ratt and Cinderella will be performing at the event, as will British heavy metal icons Saxon. Other bands confirmed for the festival include Hellyeah, H.I.M., Airbourne, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Y&T, Unearth, Steel Panther, Job For A Cowboy, A Day To Remember, Lawnmower Deth, Coheed & Cambria, 36 Crazyfists, Dommin, Whitechapel, Taking Dawn, August Burns Red, The Blackout, Rise To Remain and We Are The Fallen.
The festival takes place at Donington Park and will be held from friday the 11th of June to sunday the 13th. Other bands confirmed for the festival include Motorhead, Megadeth, Deftones and Them Crooked Vultures, as well as headlining acts AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith.
