Soulfly, the band featuring former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera and Ministry bassist Tony Campos, has announced it will be embarking on a tour of North America this March in support of the forthcoming eighth studio album, "Enslaved," which will be released through Roadrunner Records on March 13th.
Joining Soulfly on the trek will be Five Finger Death Punch, which will be promoting the release of the most recent album, "American Capitalist."
The tour dates are as follows (with the possibility of more to come): More...
The new Five Finger Death Punch album "American Capitalist" entered at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 in early October and has already sold over 165,000 copies in just a few weeks. Now, less than two months after the release of the record the band has got some more news.
Starting this Tuesday, November 22nd, fans will be able to get the brand new cover art for 5FDP’s current album. It features an illustration of the band’s ubiquitous “mascot,” Knucklehead over the backdrop of Time Square in New York City.
“We are the people’s band, and a lot of fans really liked this alternative artwork we had on the tour posters. So many times we heard, 'THAT should be the album cover' – so we figured we’d make it happen,” explains guitarist Zoltan Bathory. “If you like the original cover, that’s cool too - I guess the original will be somewhat of a limited item from now on, so there you go.”
The new Knucklehead illustration will only be replacing the regular edition album version of "American Capitalist," while the deluxe edition artwork will remain the same.
Five Finger Death Punch's new album, "American Capitalist," has charted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and sold 90,509 copies in its first week, making it the band’s strongest debut yet. "American Capitalist" also charted at #1 on the Independent Current Albums chart, #3 on the Top Current Albums chart, #2 on the Top Current Rock Albums chart, Current Hard Music Albums chart, Top Hard Music Albums chart, and the Overall Digital Albums chart. The band's publicist commented on the achievement:
"American Capitalist' is a completely independent release with no major label backing, making a #3 charting position a genuinely amazing achievement. Prospect Park is a new independent production and management company founded by Jeff Kwatinetz. Kwatinetz is known for starting former management powerhouse, The Firm, a company once known for managing chart-topping artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, and Snoop Dogg. Prospect Park’s music division has a stellar track record of tremendous success with acts that not only include 5FDP, but Jane’s Addiction, Ice Cube and Korn, just to name a few. Prospect Park’s project spectrum is leading them into the world of television in January; the company plans to kick off an internet-based online network beginning with the airing of soap operas, including the classics ‘One Life to Live’ and ‘All My Children’."
Deb Klein, the GM for Prospect Park Label states, “This is our first number 1 on the Billboard chart and it's an incredible testament to the partnership we have with the band and EMI label services. By being independent we are able to take chances and do things quickly and efficiently in this digital age.”
Maria Ferrero, President and CEO of Adrenaline PR adds, “These days, it makes a statement for any band to sell more than 90,000 in its first week, but it is a phenomenon for a Heavy Metal band on an independent label to scan more than 90,000 records.”
Five Finger Death Punch also has the following upcoming tour dates: More...

Fiver Finger Death Punch has unveiled the new video for "Under and Over It" through Artistdirect.com. The video was directed by film director Ethan Maniquis (co-director of Machete) and shot at Gavin Maloof's mansion in Las Vegas.
“We wanted to hit a pretty sarcastic tone with it, so it looks like a typical big cock-rock video, but in a tongue in cheek way," states guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "We put all the 'big-time video' clichés in it except for the booty shake, or maybe we even got that, I don't remember. We do have the party scenes, cars, airplanes, mansions, pools and girls - of course you can't have a raaawwwk video without your token pool scene. Also, it's shot from a behind-the-scenes perspective where you can actually see the director 'trying' to direct our music video. He is running in and out of the frames, posing the band, trying to make us act a certain way, which is pretty typical of most video shoots and it always annoys the hell out of the bands. It's an interesting angle the fans never get to see, and adds to the sarcasm of the whole clip. We just wanted to have fun with it, and actually it ended up being a blast and more of a party than a stressful video shoot. Maybe we'll shoot part two for this. Haha!”

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory of American hard rockers Five Finger Death Punch has posted the following comments online regarding the group's forthcoming new album "American Capitalist."
"This record crystallizes the sound of Death Punch. The band has really come into its own. Everyone contributed to the music, and this is what we are capable of as a unit. The overall message is to fight for your survival and success. You can be a zebra or join the lion pride. You have to rebel against your circumstances, laziness and mediocrity — not the system. The best will make it, and that notion is genetically embedded within our fabric. If we were all equal, evolution wouldn’t exist. The human spirit encourages us to excel"
"American Capitalist" is currently set for an October 11th, 2011 release date.
Bloody-Disgusting.com has posted a new interview online with Zoltan from Five Finger Death Punch about the band's new album "American Capitalist," which hits stores on October 11th, 2011. An excerpt from the interview follows, in which Zoltan addresses criticism of the band's style, talks about winning a "Best Shredder" award, and more.
Bloody Disgusting: Let’s jump right into the new album, American Capitalist, and, specifically, the title. What does it mean and how does it relate to the music?
Zoltan: First of all, we always liked the idea that the title could push a couple of buttons on top of being just a title. And I mean “pushing a button” as in we have something to say. Though it’s definitely not a concept album, there is a definite theme that runs across the songs.
I don’t want to jump into analyzing the economy and politics and the various fields of social sciences, but it’s kind of connected to the songs in a way that America adopted a form of capitalism that is very close to nature. Nature is pretty cool in that the way it works is that the strong kills the weak and it’s a circle of life and we dig that theme. We placed that in today’s society. We’re living in a concrete jungle, you know what I mean? You have to go and “hunt” so that you can make money. Even though the process changed, the fundamentals are still the same. So if the fundamentals are still the same, you pretty much, humans especially due to the intelligence we acquired, have to make conscious of whether you’re going to be the zebra or whether you’re going to join the lion pride and go out there a maul a motherfucker! [laughs]
It’s just what it is! You know! And we get a lot of flak from people who say “This is bro metal” or “This is tough guy music” and you know what? Yeah! It’s like, “Fuck you! I don’t play music for the pussies. It IS tough guy music!” I like that we play to an audience that share this idea of survivalism. And this connects to the spirit of the champion. You get the fuck up and fight one more round, no matter what!
And that’s what American Capitalist is about. I can definitely speak about this because I came to this country with my guitar on my back and nothing in my pocket. I came from absolute zero and kind of made it! I look at my singer who was a foster child. My guitarist was adopted after being found in the streets in some garbage. Every single member of this band came and fought for it.
Bloody Disgusting: You won the Best Shredder at the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Did this make you feel any kind of pressure when writing and recording for American Capitalist? More...

"Under and Over It" is the debut single from Five Finger Death Punch’s upcoming third album, "American Capitalist," which hits stores on October 11th, 2011. "American Capitalist" was recorded at “The Hideout” in Las Vegas, NV with producer Kevin Churko.
“This record crystallizes the sound of Death Punch," says guitarist Zoltan Bathory.
Singer Ivan Moody adds, “I literally laid every ounce of blood I had on this one. We are a people’s band. Our fans understand us because of who we are. We've never tried to be anybody else but Five Finger Death Punch. If you’re inclined to please the whole world, you've got to take a step back and realize that at the end of the day, you have to be you - first and foremost. Otherwise, you're useless to anyone else.”

February 14th is a date that means different things to different people. For some, Valentine’s Day is that special occasion to show someone how much you care, while for others it’s an unfortunate reminder of just how long that unused condom has been stashed in your wallet. For every lucky gentleman who has found the lady he can sexually accost without fear of court mandated harassment classes, there’s that lonely soul who will spend Valentine’s Day with nothing but music out the speakers and a bottle of Jack.
No matter which side you fall on, heavy metal has got a song to match your mood and help you head bang through the gooiest of all the holidays.
Whether any given track is purposefully over the top and funny, depressing enough to make you pull out the eyeliner and candles, or just plain outright disturbing, metal is no stranger to the anti-love song. So for those of you will be spending Valentine’s Day alone, or just simply think the holiday is nothing more than a marketing ploy to sell chocolates and greeting cards, here’s a series of anti-love anthems to get you through the day.
For those who still have a heart and haven't devolved into extreme cynicism, you can also check out our companion listing of pro-love heavy metal music at this location.
Metalunderground.com is no stranger to aberrant sexual behavior, as we have the honor of being home the infamous “I’d put my tongue in her butt” forum thread. The following, um, “tongue-in-cheek” songs are all dedicated to everyone who has ever contributed a post to that thread.
Whether 80’s glam rock parody/tribute act Steel Panther is singing love songs or anti-love songs is a matter of some debate. What could be more loving than each band member’s willingness to sleep with anything that moves, regardless of VD status? Take the particularly touching song “Turn Out The Lights,” in which we are informed that front man Michael Starr is in desperate need of some physical attention, even though his partner actively disgusts him. What’s a horny rock star to do? Look no further than the title for the answer:
L.A. guitarist Caleb Bingham (Ascension, Ex-Five Finger Death Punch) has joined Swedish death/black metal band Zonaria. The band is currently on tour with Nile, Dew-Scented, Melechesh, and Darkrise throughout Europe.
Zonaria guitarist Emil Nyström commented: "Caleb has been a great friend of mine for quite some time. And while recording our third CD Simon felt like he wanted to focus on the singing. So from now on Simon will only handle the vocals and Caleb has stepped in as our new guitarist. He’s an amazing guitarist and has a fantastic view on music and guitar playing."
Caleb also comments on joining the band: "It’s fantastic to be out on the road with Zonaria. I’ve always been a fan of death metal music, especially death metal music from Sweden, so playing with what I would consider to be one of the best modern Swedish death metal bands is both a pleasure and an honor. People should most definitely expect some major things coming from Zonaria in the very near future."
Goatwhore's "Apocalyptic Havoc" has been confirmed for the soundtrack for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game Splatterhouse. Additional details on the game can be found here. The Splatterhouse in game soundtrack includes:

Five Finger Death Punch has checked in with the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"Hey Everyone, we’re in LA today for our last show with Godsmack at Nokia Live. Looking forward to seeing everyone from SoCal out there. Tomorrow we end our fall tour with a special headlining show in Tucson, AZ- both these shows are going to be a blast.
"We also wanted to hit you up about our Deluxe Box Set Edition Re-Release which comes out November 22nd in stores everywhere- the week of Thanksgiving. "Finally, we just learned that our new single, Far From Home, has already come back as the highest rated song at rock radio! Thank you all so much for supporting us - we were a band that everyone thought was too heavy to play on the radio and because of believers like you, we are very lucky to do what we love today. Far From Home is a track that means the world to us, and comes from a very special place- we want the world to hear it, and appreciate your support. If you dig it, please call your local radio station and request it, so that True Metal can be heard everywhere."
