German thrash metal legends Destruction will once again be taking part in the tribute show honouring the late Sodom drummer Chris "Witchhunter" Dudek. The show will be headlined by Sodom and include performances from Destruction, Tankard, Assassin, Darkness, Holy Moses, Paradox, The Protectors, Blackfire and Wortmord. A message from Destruction mainman Schmier reads as follows:
"If this phone call would have happened earlier, all this painful confusion would have never taken place. Sodom and Destruction have both been on tour lately, I guess that did lead to a couple of misunderstandings that are all solved now.
"There was never any intention to argue about this event in any case! Tom and myself have a friendship since 25 years. The lack of communication via third parties did lead to some turbulent misinterpreting.
"I would like to point out, that we have moved our North American anniversary tour to play at this event. It was always very important to us. We have confirmed our participation already in late 2008. As some may remember, Chris toured with us before on the Eternal Devastation tour in 1986 when our drummer Tommy left the band. Since that day we were real mates! More...

German thrashers TANKARD have issued the following update:

Germany’s TANKARD have cancelled their previously announced one-off U.S. show that was to take place on March 9th at the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City. No reason was given for the cancellation.

The 2008 edition of Slovenia's Metalcamp festival (www.metalcamp.com) is scheduled to take place July 3rd - 9th in Tolmin.

QUEENSRŸCHE have been confirmed as one of the headlining acts for next year's instalment of the Bang Your Head!!! festival, set to take place on June 27-28, 2008 in Balingen, Germany. The band will deliver a very special three-hour performance with the full "Operation: Mindcrime" sets along with a huge stage production including stage actors, dialogue intermissions, video screens and other audio-visual effects.

Long-running Frankfurt, Germany-based thrash metallers TANKARD will make a one-off U.S. appearance on March 9, 2008 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. Tickets are available via EnterTheVault.com exclusively until September 21 at which point they will be sold through all normal ticketing outlets.
TANKARD entered Stage One studios in Borgentreich, Germany earlier in the year with producer Andy Classen (DEW-SCENTED, CALLENISH CIRCLE, TANKARD, OCCULT) to record new versions of their biggest "hits" — from "(Empty) Tankard" and "Chemical Invasion" to "The Morning After" and "Space Beer". The resulting collection, "Best Case Scenario: 25 Years In Beers", is scheduled for release on August 31 through AFM Records, with a special limited first edition set to include the bonus CD "A Tribute to Tankard", featuring cover versions of 18 TANKARD songs performed by such artists as SACRED STEEL, MANTICORA, ABANDONED, PARADOX, COURAGEOUS and SCORNAGE.

AFM reissued the TANKARD cover CD, "Himbeergeist zum Frühstück" (released under the TANKWART moniker) on July 13. The album features metal/punk versions of old German folk classics like "Sieben Fässer Wein" and "Blau Blüht Der Enzian", and includes a live version of the TANKARD classic "Freibier" as a bonus track.
The end of March will see Frankfurt´s finest, the Thrash Metallers of TANKARD, enter the Stage-One-Studio of producer Andy Classen (Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Legion Of The Damned, Holy Moses, Disbelief) to record new versions of their biggest "hits", from "(Empty) Tankard" and "Chemical Invasion" to "The Morning After" and "Space Beer." The release date for "Best Case Scenario: 25 Years In Beers" is scheduled for late June/early July with a special limited first edition including the bonus-CD "A Tribute“ to Tankard" where 18 bands (inculding Sacred Steel, Manticora, Abandoned, Pradox, Courageous and Scornage) salute and contribute with a cover-song.
