Cannibal Corpse is the latest act to be confirmed for the upcoming 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise. The currently announced acts (with 19 of 40 being confirmed so far) are as follows:
MY DYING BRIDE
The cruise will sail Monday, January 23rd, 2012 aboard the Royal Caribbean “Majesty of the Seas” from Miami FL to George Town, Cayman Islands and will not return you to the real world for four days until Friday, January 27th, 2012.
Virgin Steele has been confirmed as the latest act to perform at the upcoming 70,000 Tons of metal cruise. The organizers of the cruise commented:
"Make no mistake, 70000 Tons of Metal is not your grandma's cruise. It's also not one of the cruises that share the ship with normal cruise guests. This is an all heavy metal cruise! Can you imagine that? A whole luxury cruise ship full of metalheads? And since there is no backstage area you will have the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It's like everyone has a backstage pass!"

The 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise will sail on Monday January 23rd, 2012 aboard the Royal Caribbean “Majesty of the Seas” from Miami FL to George Town, Cayman Islands and will return on Friday January 27th, 2012.
Germany's Eisenwahn Festival will take place from July 29th until July 30th at the motocross racetrack of Obersinn.
Legion of the Damned will perform along with bands such as Sepultura, Amagortis, Benediction, Bigball, Clitsplit, Cripper, Debauchery, Die Grauen Herren, Heretic Soul, Hour Of Penance, Jack Slater, Kraanium, Negator, Onslaught, Tankard, The Crown, The Sickening, Torture Squad, and Trinity Site.

Tankard has checked in with the following update about the release of the new album "Vol(l)ume 14:"
"Hi friends, our new album 'Vol(l)ume 14' will be released on December 17th 2010 via AFM Record. The limited edition of the CD contains a bonus DVD with our 60 minute appearance at the Headbangers-Ball-Open-Air in Germany 2009!
"We are still working on our new band website (www.tankard.info) and webshop which hopefully both go online soon. So watch out! Cheers."
Tankard has posted a music video online for the song "Rules For Fools," which is off the band's upcoming album "Vol(l)ume 14>" The video clip can be viewed below. "Vol(l)ume 14" is set for release on December 17th, 2010.
German heavy metal veterans Tankard has announced that their new studio album, "Vol(l)ume 14" will be released through AFM Records on December 17th. The organisers of Belgiums biggest metal festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, has confirmed the final bands for this years edition of the event. The biggest news is that Soulfly, the band led by former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, will be headlining the event on the Saturday. Other bands added to the bill include New York hardcore legends Sick Of It All, former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, Hatebreed, Revamp, Oceans Of Sadness and Dear Superstar. The festival takes place in the town of Dessel from June 25th-27th.

The organisers of Belgiums premier metal festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, has announced the addition of eleven more bands to this years bill. Among the latest acts are American supergroup Hellyeah, Australian rockers Airbourne and British heavy metal veterans Raven. The other confirmed bands are Katatonia, Evergrey, The Devil's Blood, Eluveitie, Finntroll, Dark Funeral, 3 Inches Of Blood and Sylosis. German thrash metal veterans Tankard has announced that they will be heading into MX Studios in Buchen, Germany this September to record their fourteenth studio album with producer Michael Mainx. The record is expected to be released on December 17th through AFM Records. Stay tuned for further information.
The organisers of Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting festival has announced that four more bands have now been added to the lineup. The biggest announcement is that Aerosmith will be headlining the event on the friday. Also joining them that day will be reunited California grungers Stone Temple Pilots. Industrial metal legends Fear Factory will be performing at the festival and so will Atlanta based metal outfit Mastodon, who are still touring in support of their critically acclaimed album, "Crack The Skye."

German thrash metal legends Destruction will once again be taking part in the tribute show honouring the late Sodom drummer Chris "Witchhunter" Dudek. The show will be headlined by Sodom and include performances from Destruction, Tankard, Assassin, Darkness, Holy Moses, Paradox, The Protectors, Blackfire and Wortmord. A message from Destruction mainman Schmier reads as follows:
"If this phone call would have happened earlier, all this painful confusion would have never taken place. Sodom and Destruction have both been on tour lately, I guess that did lead to a couple of misunderstandings that are all solved now.
"There was never any intention to argue about this event in any case! Tom and myself have a friendship since 25 years. The lack of communication via third parties did lead to some turbulent misinterpreting.
"I would like to point out, that we have moved our North American anniversary tour to play at this event. It was always very important to us. We have confirmed our participation already in late 2008. As some may remember, Chris toured with us before on the Eternal Devastation tour in 1986 when our drummer Tommy left the band. Since that day we were real mates! More...
