Tankard Has "One Foot In The Grave" In New Video

In 1982, when four long-haired metal maniacs from Frankfurt am Main, Germany decided to found a band named Tankard, nobody expected them to still be going three decades later. Ahead of the release of their 17th studio album, "One Foot In The Grave," the band drops the official video for the album's title track. Check it out below.

The video was produced by Australian video director Aaron McLoughlin. The music video was shoot in the Frankfurt (Germany) in the pub "Alte Liebe" in February 2017. Aaron also produced the animated Tankard clip of the song "Fooled by Your Guts" in 2014.

Gerre states: “As Aaron was also already responsible for the comic clip of ‘Fooled By Your Guts’, we have spared neither cost nor effort to fly him in from Australia for recording this new clip with us. This clip is on the one hand really ironic because of our age but on the other hand also a bit sad. Everything is only temporary! This time we wanted a video without the usual hopping-around with our instruments, we just want to try something new! I think we managed this quite well. Have fun with ‘One Foot In The Grave’!”

"One Foot In The Grave" will be released on June 2nd via Nuclear Blast and features the following track listing:

1. Pay To Pray
2. Arena Of The True Lies
3. Don’t Bullshit Us!
4. One Foot In The Grave

6. Northern Crown (Lament Of The Undead King)

Tankard Posts 35th Anniversary Trailer

In 1982, when four long-haired metal maniacs from Frankfurt am Main, Germany decided to found a band named Tankard, nobody expected the group to still be going three decades later.

Yet here they are, still alive and kicking, and throughout these years there’s barely been a blip in Tankard's path. These days, when the routine of breaking-up, making a “reunion” and disappearing again seems to be the order of play, Tankard never joined that course of action – instead the group kept flying the flag of thrash metal high the whole time.

This is why the founders of “alcoholic metal” can now celebrate a 35th anniversary in 2017 with 17th studio album "One Foot In The Grave." Check out the new video trailer below, in which Gerre and Frank talk about 35 years of Tankard.

1. Pay To Pray
2. Arena Of The True Lies
3. Don’t Bullshit Us!
4. One Foot In The Grave
5. Syrian Nightmare
6. Northern Crown (Lament Of The Undead King)

Tankard Unveils "One Foot In The Grave" Artwork

2017 marks a jubilee year! 35 years of Tankard!

And, of course, a suitable soundtrack cannot be neglected for the occasion. The band’s 17th studio album will be entitled "One Foot In The Grave" and will be released on June 2nd via Nuclear Blast Records.

Today, the band is proud to reveal the cover artwork for the anniversary album. With this, the iconic band mascot the Tankard-Alien celebrates his return after about 13 years of absence. The alien was born in 1989 along with the "Alien" EP and has since graced five album covers. The Tankard fan club - the "Maniac Aliens" - is also named after it.

The artwork was brought to life by Patrick Strogulski, who is a student of Sebastian Krüger, the former Tankard cover artist. He also created the cover artwork for previous Tankard albums "A Girl Called Cerveza" and "R.I.B."

Vocalist Gerre commented: "Mister Strogulski has once again created a real masterpiece and surpassed himself. Our first plan was that I would be on the cover instead of the alien... but, lucky me, it ended up being the alien included instead..."

Tankard Has "One Foot In The Grave"

When the cult thrashers from Tankard are torn out of their winter’s sleep, it has to be for a valid reason: like celebrating 35 years of Tankard!

And, of course, a suitable soundtrack cannot be missed. That's why Gerre and co. went on a long journey to Troisdorf, together with producer Martin Buchwalter (Destruction, Suidakra), to record their 17th studio album entitled "One Foot In The Grave" at Gernhard Studio.

The album is scheduled to be released on June 2nd, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band has published a studio trailer in which you can have a look behind the scenes of the record's production.

Vocalist Gerre comments: "Yes, we are old, but even as the album title suggests - this is not the end! It was really exciting to finally work together with Martin Buchwalter, whom we've already known for like 100 years! He demanded everything from us and we are very confident that this album is going to be amazing! As usual with Tankard, we had the huge pressure of time for song writing and our nerves were on edge. But the effort was all worth it! We really hope you will like the album just as much as we do! Cheers to the next 35 years!" More...
