Tankard To Release New Album In September

Turbulent weeks for German thrash metal legends Tankard. One day after performing at the official fan festival in Sevilla during the UEFA Europa Leauge final of their dear club Eintracht Frankfurt (check out the show below.) and after commemorating the cup victory afterwards, the guys announce the release of their new studio album just in time to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary: "Pavlov's Dawgs" will be released on September 30, 2022 via Reaper Entertainment.

Once again the album was recorded at Gernhard Studio in Troisdorf/Germany in collaboration with producer Martin Buchwalter. The iconic cover artwork is once again penned by Patrick Strogulski.

Gerre comments as follows:
"Our last release "One Foot in the Grave" is already 5 years old, but it's really true: The older you get, the faster time flies........Even more pleasing that we managed to have our new work "Pavlov's Dawgs" beaten in just in time for our 40th band anniversary, which will be released on 09/30/22. As with "One Foot in The Grave", Martin Buchwalter was responsible for the recordings and the mix, which undoubtedly suits the band more than well!

"We really put all our efforts into the last months and hope that you like the result as much as we do!!!! With our new record company Reaper Entertainment behind us, we're going to step on the gas again!

"In this sense: Stay healthy and heavy!" More...

Tankard Begins Recording New Album

German thrash metal veterans Tankard are currently at Gernhart Studio (Troisdorf) to work with producer Martin Buchwalter on the follow-up to the very successful "One Foot in the Grave" album. The upcoming studio album will be the soundtrack to the band's 40th anniversary and is scheduled for release in September 2022 via Reaper Entertainment.

Frontman Gerre comments:
"Almost 5 years have passed since 'One Foot in The Grave!!!' Madness, how time races, especially when you are already a bit more aged like us.... Hahaha!!!

"All the more we are happy to work together with Martin Buchwalter in the Gernhart Studio again to record the next record, which should be released just in time for the 40th band anniversary, according to the motto: One foot out of the grave...."

The title of the record is not yet revealed. More info coming soon - stay tuned.

Even though a lot has changed in the last three decades, one thing has remained the same: Tankard are four metal maniacs from Frankfurt - authentic, loud and sometimes drunk. And it will probably stay that way for the next 40 years!

Brutal Assault Festival Band Upddate Announced

Brutal Assault Festival announces another band update for its upcoming 2019 edition. Tells the festival promotion agency:

"Let’s open this mega update with a black metal stormblast! Wicked aural filth comes from the islands with GODFLESH, who are highly regarded as one of the pioneers of industrial metal; they took industrial to the next level with their fuse of heavy guitars and mixing it with slow drum loops and effects and their unique approach has spawned several musical styles since their conception.
Brutal Assault will also present a combo of iconic thrashers that need no introduction, ANTHRAX and SACRED REICH will make it to the fest alongside upcoming crossover thrash ministry IRON REAGAN and a staple name of the genre PRONG. More...

Tankard Has "One Foot In The Grave" In New Video

In 1982, when four long-haired metal maniacs from Frankfurt am Main, Germany decided to found a band named Tankard, nobody expected them to still be going three decades later. Ahead of the release of their 17th studio album, "One Foot In The Grave," the band drops the official video for the album's title track. Check it out below.

The video was produced by Australian video director Aaron McLoughlin. The music video was shoot in the Frankfurt (Germany) in the pub "Alte Liebe" in February 2017. Aaron also produced the animated Tankard clip of the song "Fooled by Your Guts" in 2014.

Gerre states: “As Aaron was also already responsible for the comic clip of ‘Fooled By Your Guts’, we have spared neither cost nor effort to fly him in from Australia for recording this new clip with us. This clip is on the one hand really ironic because of our age but on the other hand also a bit sad. Everything is only temporary! This time we wanted a video without the usual hopping-around with our instruments, we just want to try something new! I think we managed this quite well. Have fun with ‘One Foot In The Grave’!”

"One Foot In The Grave" will be released on June 2nd via Nuclear Blast and features the following track listing:

1. Pay To Pray
2. Arena Of The True Lies
3. Don’t Bullshit Us!
4. One Foot In The Grave
5. Syrian Nightmare
6. Northern Crown (Lament Of The Undead King)

Tankard Posts 35th Anniversary Trailer

In 1982, when four long-haired metal maniacs from Frankfurt am Main, Germany decided to found a band named Tankard, nobody expected the group to still be going three decades later.

Yet here they are, still alive and kicking, and throughout these years there’s barely been a blip in Tankard's path. These days, when the routine of breaking-up, making a “reunion” and disappearing again seems to be the order of play, Tankard never joined that course of action – instead the group kept flying the flag of thrash metal high the whole time.

This is why the founders of “alcoholic metal” can now celebrate a 35th anniversary in 2017 with 17th studio album "One Foot In The Grave." Check out the new video trailer below, in which Gerre and Frank talk about 35 years of Tankard.

1. Pay To Pray
2. Arena Of The True Lies
3. Don’t Bullshit Us!
4. One Foot In The Grave
5. Syrian Nightmare
6. Northern Crown (Lament Of The Undead King)
7. Lock`Em Up!
