Greyhaze Records is set to unearth "Bloody Vengeance," the 1986 full-length debut from Brazilian death metal pioneers Vulcano, on May 18th. The label comments:
"Formed in 1980, Vulcano is thought to be the first band from Brazil, and possibly South America, to play extreme metal. An early influence for the likes of Sepultura and Sarcofago, Vulcano's primal blend of black, thrash and death metal sparked a flame that quickly spread across the mid-80s underground metal community.
"Considered one of the most important albums in South American (and beyond) extreme metal, 'Bloody Vengeance' is being reintroduced to a new generation of maniacs. Fully remastered and accompanied by a DVD that features a live performance from the 1986 Festival Da Morte Greyhaze Records will reissue this cult classic as a six-panel digipak CD/DVD on May 18. Vulcano has issued the following update about recruiting a new vocalist:
"It's with great pleasure that we would like to announce that Vulcano has now a new singer, our long-time friend : Luiz Carlos Louzada also known for his work with extreme bands such as Chemical Disaster, Repulsão Explicita, K.O.V., White Frogs, Hierarchical Punishment, Predatory, Preguh, Chaosmaster, etc. He also recorded the three bonus tracks for the reissue of the LIVE! album back in 1998. A true Brazilian legend indeed.
"Angel had to leave the band because of other priorities he has in his life. Thanks for all those years in Vulcano. We wish you the best, you deserve the best brother. European tour coming soon!!!"

Swedish cult act NIFELHEIM have finished writing the two songs that will be released exclusively on the NIFELHEIM / VULCANO split EP, due later in the year via I Hate Records. The songs "Sepulcral Fornication" and "Raging Flames" will be recorded at a Swedish studio beginning on May 27 and are being described by NIFELHEIM guitarist Vengeance From Beyond (a.k.a. Sebastian Ramstedt; also in NECROPHOBIC) as "a total attack of satanic black metal." He added that "this split will be the true synergy of evil."
Drummer Peter Stjornvind reecntly left the long-running Swedish metallers ENTOMBED in order to concentrate on his membership in NIFELHEIM, according to Ramstedt. "No bad breakup or anything personal between him/us and the guys in ENTOMBED, but heavy touring didn't fit his situation right now," according to Ramstedt. ENTOMBED are currently utilizing the services of session drummer Olle Dahlstedt (ALPHA SAFARI, ex-MISERY LOVES CO.) for all of their upcoming European gigs.
