While they’re not playing in their other bands (ARSIS, DESPISED ICON, SEXCREMENT, etc.), Massachusetts-based brutal death metallers GORATORY have announced plans for two upcoming “reunion” shows:
“GORATORY is confirmed for NRW Deathfest in Germany on Sept 19-20th. We will also be booking one US show in Boston which we are working on right now. This is gonna be our first time playing live in over 3 years and we wont be able to get back together for a while after so come on out and party!!”
DESPISED ICON have posted the following update:
“After going though tons of audition videos, we’d like to introduce our new guitarist; from Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Al Glassman (Goratory, ex-Burn In Silence). Al learned and played the songs perfectly but most of all, he’s an awesome dude and we’re glad to have him as a guitarist and as a friend. He joined us on our latest Canadian tour and proved to us and to the rest of the crowd that he’s the perfect guy for the band. Thumbs up!
We just got home from our Canadian tour. Almost every single show was sold out! We hadn’t toured home in while and we’d like to thank everyone that showed up for making this a memorable experience. Our plane for Europe leaves tomorrow! This will be our first time touring overseas and we can’t wait to see what it’s like. We hope to see you there.”
Arsis drummer Michael Van Dyne, a founding member of the group, has left the band for personal reasons. He has tentatively been replaced by Darren Cesca (Burn In Silence, Goratory).
NY's Mucopus have recruited Adam Mason (Goratory, Sexcrement) to fill in for Mucopus vocalist Jason Keyser for their upcoming European tour this fall. Here is a statement from founding guitarist Justin Knipper:
"Jason will not be able to do the Mucopus tour this fall due to prior commitments he made to his other band Skinless. They have a brand new cd coming out June 13th through Relapse Records and have some domestic tours lined up for around the time we have our European tour. We've known Adam for years and felt as though he was the best candidate to fill in because of his insane vocal range and stage presence and the fact we're already all friends. We're really excited about this tour and we're looking forward to finishing up our new material we've written with Jason towards the end of the year."
