In the meantime, Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message at the Gigantour forum:
"As some of you may have heard on last week's Rockline with Bob Coburn, I kind of alluded to a great Japanese magazine that I love talking to called Burrrn! (not a typo) and I gave them a little taste of something about Gigantour 2008's line-up. Well, Bob asked me again about the line-up and I playfully mentioned some more 'stuff.' And although I did not actually confirm or deny it, as of yesterday, we are officially on our way! I am happy to say that yesterday I did a cover story photo-shoot with the front-men of the other bands of this year's 'helluva line-up!' at my upcoming heavy metal festival and I think we had a pretty kewl afternoon.
And as Gigantour grows, it is continuing to develop the 'roll' part of 'rock and roll.' The breaking news is we are going to have five bands this year, instead of eight. The decision to drop it down from eight bands to five was based on timing, set lengths, stage sizes, unions, and most importantly allowing 'us' — the musicians — to deliver to 'you' — the fans — the best shows we can. Besides it is easier to remember five bands' and crews' worth of names than eight.
"It is pretty much not a secret anymore who the bands are, but we are still going to 'officially' announce the line-up as soon as our business partners return from the holidays, and their celebrating putting together such a great line-up this year!
"We will be announcing shortly after that when and where our Gigantour baseball game is going to happen. You may remember that for the last two years of successfully Gigantouring North America, that we had played a softball game each year and gathered food for the homeless and provided meals for the shelters for delivery to homes, as well as providing our gloves and other baseball artifacts, uniforms and equipment to charity for auction. In 2005 and 2006 the charity of choice was Mr. Holland's Opus. This charity provides musical instruments for underprivileged children. We will be providing info for our choice for the baseball games charity to support this year.
So, to the guys I met yesterday (and in some cases before) _____, _____, ___, and ______ and their management and crew from yesterdays photo shoot for Revolver, I will see you guys soon and be sure and check out what these great guitarist and bands have to say here in their chats, posts, blogs, podcasts, and video footage (if any).
I am still hopeful that we will be able to video tape this year's Gigantour, but after the last one and the way it finished, I think that my people are not as open-minded to going through that whole ordeal again. Cross your fingers though. I always keep trying, that is why it seems like I win a lot. I do win a lot, it's just I have a lot of defeats too; and I don't dwell on them or try to let you know of them.
We will be launching the new face of the site soon too, so stay tuned for that. And we will be announcing something that happened at the end of this year too, that will no doubt provide many new and exciting possibilities for us. I will be referring back to this post and the day 12.18 when we do make our announcement.
Until then, I love you guys, and have a great Christmas, and Kwanzaa, and I hope that you had a great Hanukkah!"
Hot off returning home from the Dying Fetus / Cephalic Carnage tour alongside labelmates YEAR OF DESOLATION, Athens, Ohio's SKELETONWITCH have just been confirmed as a support act on an upcoming tour in late January alongside Job For A Cowboy and The Red Chord. Fans at the final show of this years Radio Rebellion Tour at the Fillmore in New York City were treated to a set of performances by BEMEHOTH, GOJIRA, and JOB FOR A COWBOY. One concert goer, however, didn’t appreciate the performance of one band in particular. A first had experience submitted to SMNnews reads as follows…embellished, unnecessary, justified? You decide:
“Bassist, Brent Riggs, of Job For a Cowboy classlessly handled jeering fans when he decided to spit on paid ticket holders. Several fans in the audience where victim of the act and, because of the despicable act, left the show with spit on their faces. What their label, Metal Blade Records, will do to quell this kind of behavior by its recording artists, still remains to be seen. But, it is certain that many fans of the other bands on that bill will not be purchasing any album put out by that label anytime soon.”
Canada's BENEATH THE MASSACRE have been forced to pull out of the upcoming Radio Rebellion Tour show in Philadelphia due to a death in the family. Currently on the road as part of Converse and Hurley's Radio Rebellion Tour with Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy and labelmates Gojira, BENEATH THE MASSACRE recently returned to Canada for a handful of shows on the tour, receiving a great response. For a player featuring songs from each band on the tour, visit here.
Continuing to support the band's Prosthetic Records debut, Mechanics of Dysfunction, BENEATH THE MASSACRE has already toured North America several times, while early next year the band will make its first trek to Europe, alongside Misery Index and fellow Canadians Despised Icon. The band has also shot a video with director Kevin Custer (Madball, The Destro, Ligeia) for the track "Society's Disposable Son," which is available online at the Prosthetic Records YouTube page.

The following press release has been issued:
Hurley and Converse unite to present the 2007 "Radio Rebellion" Tour, a massive, twenty eight city North American trek that will showcase the cream of the crop of heavy music's rising stars from points across the globe. Co-headlining the tour will be Glendale, AZ extreme Metal unit JOB FOR A COWBOY and Polish Death Metal troupe BEHEMOTH.
The follow up to 2006's successful package tour of the same name, this year's planned jaunt sees the "Radio Rebellion" Tour upping the ante, especially in regards to the "heaviness factor", as the tour will grandstand two of underground Metal's most talked about rising artists in BEHEMOTH and JOB FOR A COWBOY. Support on the extreme expedition will be provided by highly regarded French band GOJIRA and Canadian technical Death Metal quartet BENEATH THE MASSACRE.
JOB FOR A COWBOY, who has seen a meteoric ascent unparrelled in recent Metal history, will continue to tour in support of its debut full-length album "Genesis". "Genesis" debuted at #54 on Billboard's Top 200 chart this past May, shifting nearly 13,000 units in it's first week of release and joined the initial releases from STONE SOUR and DAMAGEPLAN (which featured members of SLIPKNOT and PANTERA respectively) amongst the highest charting Metal debuts to crack Billboard's Top 200 since SLIPKNOT's 1999 self-titled album. Additionally. the band has earned a landslide of recent accolades including being named "Best Underground Band" at the 2007 Metal Hammer "Golden Gods Awards", one of Total Guitar's "Hottest Guitar Bands Of 2007", one of Alternative Press' 2007 "Bands You Need To Know" and one of Revolver's "Breakthrough Bands that will be Kicking Your Ass this Year".
Ozzfest breakthrough artists BEHEMOTH are extremely proud to be a part of the "Radio Rebellion" tour, which is the perfect follow up to their highly successful summer run. The tour affords the band the opportunity to perform a longer set in more intimate settings, ultimately providing fans with "the definitive BEHEMOTH experience". This is also a chance for the band to perform an array of songs from their highly acclaimed new offering, "The Apostasy", which debuted at #149 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. While most bands struggle to evolve and stay vital within the extreme music genre, BEHEMOTH has managed to do so effortlessly. "The Apostasy" is destined to continue their legacy.
"We've toured U.S. ten times during last few years but we almost never had a chance to headline our own shows," BEHEMOTH main man Nergal states. "These last few years have been about working our asses off in order to establish our name and build a solid foundation, and now it will finally pay off. It's high time for us to come back to North America and show our fans what a BEHEMOTH set with full production can be. I love all the bands that are joining us as there is a lot of quality and variety on the bill. I'm thrilled to tour with GOJIRA and JOB FOR A COWBOY is phenomenal! Extremely talented band. I can't think of a better company for us. We're bringing all our lights, a full stage production, and will be delivering at least an hour long set. We'll be playing old stuff as well as songs from 'The Apostasy'. The 'Radio Rebellion' Tour is going to be massive! See you there my friends!"
On the topic of the tour, JOB FOR A COWBOY founding member Ravi Bhadriraju comments: "To be a part of a tour along side some of the best acts from around the world is awesome. BEHEMOTH, GOJIRA and BENEATH THE MASSACRE are all from different countries and are all amazing bands. This will be the heaviest tour of the fall! We're excited and ready to hit the road yet again. All of you JOB FOR A COWBOY fans can expect a show that will be worth your while. Look out!"
In addition to Hurley and Converse, "Radio Rebellion" 2007 tour sponsors include Revolver Magazine, Smartpunk, Metal Blade Records, Ferret Music and Prosthetic Records.
"Radio Rebellion" Co-Founder Stewart Teggart comments, "We are very excited to launch this year's 'Rebellion Tour'. It will be 'Radio Rebellion' in the truest sense as we've assembled four of the most extreme bands in Heavy Metal. Each band on the tour this year hail from a different country and all of them have their own unique way of delivering brutally heavy music. If you are a fan of Metal, this tour is not to be missed! Radio Rebellion will be the microphone for the youth by delivering what the fans want to see and hear which is why sponsors with a similar frame of mind have been chosen to help support the tour."

Self proclaimed "death rap" artist Necro has issued the follwing statement from his official Myspace:
"I decided to leave the tour collectively with my manager and booking agent (both tour organizers) because we felt the tour’s demographic was not receiving hip hop well. I was facing hostile, disrespectful crowds and was returning the same energy back ten-fold by being more aggressive than them.
It was making a lot of people in the tour crew nervous and there was concern someone might get hurt (NOT ME). It was also being suggested that maybe I tone down my live show and not antagonize the already antagonistic crowd. I couldn’t roll with that as it’s not my style. I was holding back enough as it is but there is a line. All the bands on the tour loved us and everyone behind the scenes knew we displayed major heart and never once got phased by the hostility. We finished every show with middle fingers up and a big "Fuck You" to the crowd.
I will make one thing clear for the haters: we NEVER got booed OFF the stage. Not once. Yes a ton of emo kids booed us at every show, but we had a twenty-five minute set every night and we stayed on stage for every minute of it, and we represented. Every show had at least 100 to 200 Necro fans in the pit tearing it up, and our meet and greets were incredible!
It’s just a shame these little kids are so close-minded. The majority of the hate was coming from mop top emo sixteen-year olds who have no clue who the originators of metal are, and didn’t respect my rest in peace chant to metal legends (Dime, Cliff, Chuck, Piggy, SOB).
As far as the tour organizers and I are concerned, you are my people so it’s all love and I’m thankful for the opportunity to prove I can murder it in the worst of situations. This actually did a lot for me and is just one move in many my team will make to blow Necro up"
Chart Attack spoke with Job For A Cowboy about the band's history and their new album on Metal Blade Records. Here's an excerpt:
"While just barely in high school, JFAC released an EP titled Doom that lead singer Jonny Davy says was written when the band hadn't really found themselves."
"Our EP, Doom, we all wrote when we were really young, we were all just about 16, maybe 17. We just kind of threw songs together. We were really undeveloped as a band. So we had a couple of years to develop and tour and we learned so much and we grew up. The new album is a lot more focused and a lot more aggressive and heavily influenced on modern death metal, while the older EP has a lot of metalcore and hardcore aspects to it, and the new album definitely doesn't."
Genesis, the group's Metal Blade debut, clearly shows the growth and maturity since Doom. Although it's hardly a breakthrough death metal album, fans of the sub-genre who love their shit technical and brutal as hell will appreciate the progress the young lads from Arizona have made. But what stands out on the record more than the music is Davy's intricate songwriting and lyrics.
Even though Genesis isn't being promoted as a concept album, the songs clearly tell a story of technology, religion and corrupt government, and how they combine to lead to the end of civilization.
"I spent a really long time on the lyrics," says Davy, who's the band's sole songwriter. "At a pretty young age I realized that I was an atheist. Over time, I read up on a lot of religions and religious conspiracies and conspiracies in general.
"The record is actually about a biochip called the 'VeriChip' that's being implanted [into people] and used for medical identification and money currency purposes. People feel it's an invasion of privacy, and the other aspect is religious leaders have come out against it for fear that this is going to be a fulfillment of a prophecy in the Book Of Revelations.
"The VeriChip is actually being used today, and eventually they want to use it to implant in people's arms or hands. So let's say you walk to a grocery store and, instead of paying with money, you walk through a scanner and take the money out of your account. On the religious side, you can turn on American Christian television and they'll be talking about it on their little talk shows. Religious leaders fear that the Antichrist is going to use the chip to control every man and woman in America and later the whole world."
