In light of their recent line-up changes, Fjord has renamed themselves Reckoner. The group elaborates:
"Mike and Dan have decided to leave the band for personal reasons. There our no hard feelings and we wish them the best of luck. This left the rest of the of us in a shitty situation but we've decided to go on under a new name (Reckoner) and a little bit of new sound. Our new drummer is Chase White and he's a fucking man beast behind the kit and probably the craziest son of a bitch I have ever met in my life."
The band has posted two new demo tracks on their new MySpace page.
Virginia's Fjord is currently writing new songs and will record a demo next month. Meanwhile, the group recently added bassist Matt Defire (End Of The Universe) to their line-up.

Virginia's Fjord (Eulogy Recordings) has parted ways with singer Matt Tarpey (ex-Winter Solstice). The band comments:
"We want to be more of a full-time band. We really want to tour more and get our name out. So we mutually decided that finding another singer was the best way to go. Matt will always be our friend, there is no bad blood. He's talking about going back to school and without a doubt will pop-up later in another band. We appreciate anyone that has shown us support these last couple of years and truly hope we aren't alienating anyone with this decision. We are still booking shows starting in late-July and hope to see you all soon."
The band is seeking a replacement for Tarpey. Interested parties can contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Virginia Beach-based metal act The End of the Universe have posted an update regarding the band's general plans to tour and record, as well as the individual members' side-projects.
Here is the official statement:
"We still exist, we're just on hiatus. There will be another TEOTU record. There will be more live shows. We will be kicking your nuts in once again.
Kenneth is touring with Fjord. They are good dudes and are surprisingly swoop-free. Check them out and check the schedule. They were just in Buffalo last night with The End. If you live in VB or thereabouts, they'll be playing Friday in Virginia Beach to wrap up the tour at Club Relevant.
Brett and Josh are seeing how the other half live, rocking in The Crimson Electric. 7" in the works and new mp3s up on MySpace. First show is this Thursday in Virginia Beach at Retro Lounge. Come out and get drunk.
Matt and Josh are also doing some new Tu Madre material this summer. Expect ridiculous levels of groove and severe taint uppercuttage. (MP3s here)
Chase has been breaking cymbals and weak women. He's been jamming some "High on Fire" influenced stuff and we'll update when there's more info on it."

Recent Eulogy Recordings' signees Fjord have recruited Kenneth Daugherty, guitarist for The End of the Universe to play for them full-time, including touring. Daugherty intends to remain with both bands.
Fjord from Virginia Beach, featuring ex-members of Winter Solstice and To the Grave (formerly known as The Takeover), are the latest edition to the Eulogy Recordings roster.
Unsatisfied with the current direction of heavy music, Virginia Beach quintet Fjord formed in 2005. Constantly challenging themselves creatively, they adhere to a strict "anything goes" policy. The band is in love with the song writing process, and strives to be anything but typical. They will be recording this summer for their full-length debut on Eulogy.
