Throwdown are now eyeing "Vendetta" as the tentative title to their forthcoming new album, which they will be recording this February with producer Zeuss (God Forbid, The Red Chord, Hatebreed) at the helm. In other news, the band will soon be mapping out dates for a six week North American trek alongside As I Lay Dying which is expected to kick off in March. More details will be unveiled shortly.
Throwdown guitarist Tommy Love has now quit the band. The split was an amicable one, as Tommy has chosen to focus on his job, which has made touring difficult. He played his final show with the group earlier this week at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA. Meanwhile, Throwdown will be entering the studio in February with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) to record their next album. The effort will be recorded as a four-piece: Dave Peters (vocals), Matt Mentley (guitar), Dom Macaluso (bass), Ben Dussault (drums).
Being one of my favourite bands, the minute I found out that Children of Bodom was coming to town again, I thought to myself that I definitely had to go see them this time. And not only did I get to see them live, I also got to interview their bass player, Henkka. I was supposed to interview Mark Morton from Lamb of God too. But unfortunately, due to some complications, I was unable to.
The doors to the Commodore Ballroom opened at 7. Throwdown went on stage at 7:45. They weren't bad for an opening band. I was impressed by how much energy they've got and how they got everyone jumping up and down in the circle pit they've created. Rumour has it that there are tires under the floor of the Commodore so that it adds bounce...or something like that. More...

These dates will also serve as the last God Forbid shows in the U.S. this year, as they will immediately head to Europe with Machine Head to close out 2004 with nine weeks worth of shows.

This will be the quintet’s third U.S. tour in support of their highly acclaimed new album, Hate Crew Deathroll. Henkka T. Blacksmith (bass) further describes the band’s excitement over the upcoming tour; “So Children of Bodom will return to the U.S. very soon. We have done a lot of shows over there lately, but we decided to do this tour because it’s a very interesting package. We are looking forward to play with all three bands, and it's going to be an extremely heavy tour. It is very cool for us that we can be part of this package, and we hope to see all the COB fans there too. I am really looking forward to it.”
Also, Alexi Laiho (vocals, guitars) is featured on Guitar World’s inaugural CD-ROM insert in November’s issue, currently on newsstands. Fans will be able to watch him run through various tracks step by step and see his technique in vivid detail.
