Below is our complete Corrosion of Conformity news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

On January 27th, Prosthetic Records will reissue two definitive releases from Corrosion Of Conformity on vinyl. Both 1991's mainstream debut “Blind” and its groundbreaking follow-up “Deliverance” (featuring Pepper Keenan exclusively on vocals) have been repressed on 180-gram gatefold vinyl, limited to 1,000 copies each.
Pre-order packages are available exclusively via the Prosthetic webshop. Select variants of “Blind” and “Deliverance” will also be available at local independent record shops throughout North America starting next week, so contact your store directly for more information. For further details on the reissues, check out the below video featuring C.O.C. drummer Reed Mullin and lead guitarist Woody Weatherman. More...
Vocalist Karl Agell, who sang on Corrosion Of Conformity's 1991 seminal "Blind" full-length, and founding drummer Reed Mullin will perform the LP in its entirety on Sunday, November 9th at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The concert is a benefit show for Katherine Ludwig, former editor of long-running heavy metal magazine, Metal Maniacs, who is currently battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Footage of the band rehearsing for the upcoming performance can be viewed below.
Comments Mullin, "I only heard about Katherine's medical problems a month ago, and the minute after, I was on the phone with Karl Agell to see if he'd be into doing a benefit for her. I'm not sure folks today know just how instrumental she was in introducing and exposing your typical 'metal maniac' of the early '90s to so many bad ass bands. A lot of which, like COC, had never been given an audience like that before.
"We had been in fanzines with circulations of maybe a couple hundred, but Metal Maniacs was thousands and thousands! A great advocate for little known underground metal, as well as hardcore/punk bands, she promoted the Blind album to the point where by the end of the year it was on virtually everyone's top ten metal albums of 1991. I can't overstate how important she was to COC's success. Without her, Blind wouldn't have sold what it did. And after that, I don't think it's a stretch to say there probably would never have been a Deliverance album. Katherine Ludwig is wonderful person and I hope we can give back a little for all the goodness she gave us."

In related Corrosion Of Conformity happenings, the band will take to the streets again this Fall on a North American excursion supporting GWAR.
Set to inaugurate on November 15th in Spokane, Washington, the massive trek will stomp its way through over two dozen cities, coming to a close on December 13th in Baltimore, Maryland.
Additional support will be provided by American Sharks. See confirmed dates below.
Two seminal albums by metal pioneers Corrosion of Conformity (C.O.C.) — the 1991 landmark "Blind" and the 1994 follow-up "Deliverance" – will be reissued on vinyl by Prosthetic Records this Fall.
While an exact release date has not yet been confirmed, both titles — limited to 1,000 copies each — are currently available for pre-order in the Prosthetic webshop. Prosthetic Records also comments:
"Freshly inducted into Decibel Magazine’s Hall of Fame, 'Blind' — originally released on Relativity Records — signified an important transition for C.O.C., as the group began to move away from their crossover past toward a more streamlined, metallic thrash sound. Hailed by All Music Guide as 'one of the most important heavy rock albums of the decade,' the album saw the addition of guitarist Pepper Keenan and yielded two notable singles: 'Dance of the Dead' and 'Vote With A Bullet.'
"Previously unreleased on vinyl in North America, 'Blind' will be reissued as a gatefold double-LP available in three different 180-gram colors: purple (approx. 700 copies), black (approx. 200 copies) and clear (approx. 100 colors). A color lyric insert and liner notes by music journalist Chris Dick will also be included, as will three bonus tracks from the 1995 Columbia Records re-release of the album." More...
Oderus is missing. Once the Scumdogs in GWAR finally notice this (it takes them a while to notice stuff) they will set off on a journey to find their departed brother using every resource available - including recruiting an ancient Scumdog warrior.
GWAR will need the help from everyone, even the lowliest Bohab, as the band's enemies are plotting to take advantage of the hole in GWAR's ranks.
BalSac The Jaws of Death radioed in this statement on The "GWAR Eternal Tour 2014" and what to expect:
"Dark clouds of war and ill omen have gathered around GWAR. In our hour of greatest peril, Oderus has left us and our enemies stand poised, ready to strike while they sense weakness. But we shall no longer cower in our Antarctic stronghold, awaiting Destiny's final blow. This Fall GWAR sets out on the most trying quest of our career. We shall scour our leader's favorite stomping ground, North America, leaving no city unsearched, no venue unraised, and no sheep unmolested. GWAR will venture to the depths of Hell or to the very end of Time itself, and though I fear what we may encounter out there, I know that we can never return home until we have the answer we seek: 'Where is Oderus Urungus?'"
GWAR fans have been mourning the loss of Dave Brockie, GWAR's founder and lead singer, since March. The "GWAR Eternal Tour 2014" gives them an opportunity to gather and share a bunch of feels as a community while experiencing the sickest band in this or any other world. More...

Due to a torn rotator cuff, Corrosion Of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin has been forced to sit out the band's upcoming live dates. The band comments:
"We are sorry to announce that Reed Mullin will not be onboard for this tour. He's been playing through pain, awaiting a strategic time to repair a full tear of his rotator cuff. That's a seriously bum shoulder. So he's going to get that repaired and rehabbed.
"During the interim, we've enlisted Mr. Eric Hernandez formerly of Kylesa to help us until then. Eric came to our attention when we approached Rick Smith of Torche about filling in and he recommended Eric, who he grew up with in Miami. Eric has also filled in for Ricky in Torche a few times with great results. He is, like Reed, a hard hitter, and thankfully possesses the capacity to learn and digest detailed material quickly and accurately."

Candlelight Records today confirms June 23rd as the European release date for "IX," the new album from Corrosion Of Conformity (June 24th in North America). Produced by the band and long-time comrade John Custer, the album and lead single “On Your Way” will be available for preorders via ITunes, Amazon, and other outlets beginning May 13th.
“The making of IX was drawn out because of us having to step away to do other projects,” comments vocalist Mike Dean. “I think being forced to step away kept us hungry and then being back on the case with deadlines casting a shadow gave us a ‘failure is no option’ vibe and that really helped the final product.”
“This album is another step forward for us,” adds guitarist Woodroe Weatherman. “It seems like we keep heading more and more toward our rawer live sound with the studio recordings.”
Throughout the history of heavy music, there have been many influential bands. Some see their signature sound copied by hundreds, others only one album which can spawn a movement, but few can go from one genre to another and remain just as popular and important as they were before. One of the new bands who can legitimately claim this, is Raleigh, North Carolina’s own, Corrosion of Conformity. Corrosion of Conformity, or C.O.C. for short, formed in 1982 by bassist Mike Dean, who would also handle vocal duties, along with drummer Reed Mullin and guitarist, Woody Weatherman. After recruiting vocalist Eric Eycke, the group released their first full length album, "Eye for an Eye" in 1984. The debut featured twenty tracks, including a cover of the Fleetwood Mac song, "Green Manalishi," which had also been popularised by Judas Priest, but timed in at just over half an hour. This would prove to be their only album featuring Eycke, who left the band following the record’s release and so vocal duties were shared by Reed and Mullin on their sophomore album, "Animosity." The album saw the band begin to mix their hardcore roots with the emerging thrash metal genre, creating one of the first examples of crossover thrash in the process and was received very well, with several of their songs going on to be covered by such high profile artists as Metallica and Mr. Bungle.
It was decided by the band that in order to progress, they would need a new singer so that the music would be paired with one voice and so they hired Simon Bob Sinister, formerly of Ugly Americans, who performed with C.O.C. on their next EP, "Technocracy," which veered closer to thrash metal than their previous work. Despite this noisy output however, things were soon to go quiet for the band, when Mike Dean decided to leave in 1987, followed closely by Simon Bob. More...
Following a recent performance at the Fifth Annual Scion Fest in Memphis, Corrosion Of Conformity has announced live assaults for August. In addition to the already planned participation at Gwar’s annual BBQ, the trio will perform a headlining show in Wilmington, Delaware before heading to South America for a string of dates.
The August shows mark a break from continued work in the recording studio on the band’s new album, expected for release in early 2014.
“We need a little escape from the studio,” comments vocalist/bassist Mike Dean. “We thought it would be good to see the light of the day a little bit. We are excited to play Brazil, Peru, Columbia, and Argentina for the first time ever. Of course returning to Mexico City and playing Gwar’s BBQ will be highlights for our summer as well. The new material is sounding really good but it’s time to get the perspective provided only by playing in front of a live audience. And we are talking about some very live audiences in this case.”
Updates regarding progress of the band’s forthcoming album came during the band’s late April West Coast tour with Danzig. Dean said, “We have a lot of lyric writing to refine but a lot of solid musical arrangements are in place. We plan to begin basic tracking for half the songs as soon as we return to North Carolina.” More...
Corrosion of Conformity will perform at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona tomorrow night as part of the band's trek with Danzig, which began on April 17th. The short tour allows the trio a momentary break from work on the follow-up to 2012’s self-titled album.
The dates with Danzig follow the band’s recent festival appearance in Santiago, Chile; the band playing The Metal Fest alongside Down, Twisted Sister, Devin Townsend Project and others.
Vocalist/bassist Mike Dean comments, “We took time out from writing and recording to play Chile for the first time. We had a blast hanging out with Down. Of course Pepper [Keenan] played a couple of songs with us and I got to listen to Jimmy Bower and Pat Bruders sing Eagles songs for the entire flight back to the states. We picked up some rented gear in Los Angeles and drove through the desert to start the Danzig tour in Las Vegas. Things have been rolling since then and it has been really good travels. Denver and Albuquerque were particularly awesome. Austin was great too.”
The band’s current set includes a mix of new and old songs, including “Deliverance,” “Priest Brains,” “Strong Medicine Too Late,” “Holier,” “Mad World,” “Hungry Child,” “Technocracy,” plus “Psychic Vampire,” “Your Tomorrow,” and “The Moneychangers” from the 2012 self-titled album. More...

Extreme metallers The Agonist have announced a string of dates with Danzig and Corrosion of Conformity along the West Coast.
In regards to these upcoming tour dates (and the recent cancellation of the band's trek with Cradle of Filth in February/March), The Agonist comments:
"We were very honored and excited to have been included on this tour with three amazing bands that we have the utmost admiration and respect for...So when news of the cancellation came through we were not only disappointed but heartbroken about losing out on the entire experience of touring with Cradle of Filth, The Faceless, and Decapitated.
"All the members of The Agonist have been gearing up for this tour since the fall of last year and we were really looking forward to putting on an amazing show for both old fans and new fans alike...But alas, The Agonist moves on and is proud to announce an upcoming tour with the almighty Danzig (!!!) as well as the legendary Corrosion of Conformity in the month of April, 2013! Corrosion of Conformity has begun writing material for a next album, the follow-up to the self-titled record released via Candlelight Records in late February 2012 and recently released Scion A/V EP "Megalodon." The album, untitled at this time, will again feature the trio of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woodroe Weatherman, and drummer Reed Mullin.
Last week the band announced a first live performance for the New Year at the annual Metal Fest Chile on April 13th. It will be the first Corrosion of Conformity appearance ever in Chile. Mike Dean comments, “We have been talking about going to South American forever and with Chile being a big source of so much of our Facebook traffic, I know it’s going to be epic. Another chance for us to do a festival with Down is always a very good thing.”
The festival follows the completion of the band’s recent U.S. tour that concluded in southern California alongside High On Fire. The trio was also a featured participant on Barge From Hell that left Florida shores on December 7th. Dean notes, “The cruise was pretty awesome. We had Rick and Jonathan from Torche masquerading as our crew and watching their antics alone was worth the trip. The seas were calm so there was no hurling over the bow.”
Corrosion of Conformity continues to promote the self-titled album in interviews with media as well spreading word on the band's recently released "Megalodon" EP. The EP, sponsored by the folks at Scion A/V, is available for free now via various outlets. Dean says, “The EP was written, recorded, and released in two months time. It really challenged us in a good way. It feels good to get two releases out in one year and I expect that we will continue that level of productivity.” Continuing he shares, “The self-titled album is holding up very well for me. There is a wide variety of material there. It’s all definitely COC but at the same time everything is really a stretch for us. Within the realm of never being totally satisfied, I am very happy with how it came out.”
