Corrosion Of Conformity Premiere New Track & Video

Gold-certified Southern metal band Corrosion Of Conformity have released their double album “Good God / Baad Man,” alongside a new music video for “Asleep On The Killing Floor,” directed by Mike Holderbeast. The record marks the band’s first full-length release since 2018.
Drummer Stanton Moore performed on the album in the studio, while Nick Shabatura has since joined the band as a permanent member.
Fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch this new lineup live, with multiple tour dates scheduled in the months ahead: More...
C.O.C. Presents "You Or Me" Music Video
"You Or Me' is the latest single from American heavy metal icons Corrosion Of Conformity. The crushing new track comes off the band’s mammoth new double album, "Good God / Baad Man," set for release on April 3rd via Nuclear Blast and is accompanied by a video created by acclaimed visual arts icon Costin Chioreanu with additional footage filmed by Mike Holderbeast.
"With ‘You Or Me,' Corrosion Of Conformity are back at the top of their game. This blistering, Sabbed out track is an angry acid trip into the origins of the human condition since the dawn of man. In these primitive times, it’s clear to say they haven’t learned much. So Black it’s Blue." – Lucifer
Adds the band, "Deep from within the forests of Romania and the twisted mind of our dear friend Costin Chioreanu comes his twisted visions put to Corrosion’s music. It’s a match made in purgatory. There’s some special additions from [director] Mike Holderbeast’s crew as well." More...
Corrosion Of Conformity To Release Double Album
American heavy metal legends Corrosion Of Conformity will release their long-awaited new double album, "Good God / Baad Man," on April 3rd via Nuclear Blast.
Much has gone down in the Corrosion Of Conformity universe since their last album smacked us upside the head. Back in 2018, when "No Cross No Crown" dropped like a rock ‘n’ roll atom bomb, the tried-and-true Corrosion Of Conformity line-up of Pepper Keenan (vocals, guitar), Woody Weatherman (guitar), Reed Mullin (drums), and Mike Dean (bass) was still going strong. Four brothers united in a decades-long history kicked off by a roving pack of teenage punks in Raleigh, North Carolina circa 1982.
Corrosion Of Conformity’s first four albums left a permanent mark on headbangers, longhairs, and street punks everywhere: Underground classics "Eye For An Eye" (1984) and "Animosity" (1985) followed by slightly more overground bangers "Blind" (1991) and "Deliverance" (1994). By the time Corrosion Of Conformity carved off "No Cross No Crown" nearly a quarter century later, they were legends in their own time, revered by two generations of punk, metal, and rock fans.
Then tragedy struck: In January 2020, Reed Mullin left this earthly plane. More...

Coroner Added To Mystic Festival Line-Up
Everything has its time and sometimes, you have to wait a bit for the best. But the wait for the concerts of Corrosion Of Conformity, Coroner, letlive. and Djerv is over – you’ll see them in the Mystic Festival next year.
Corrosion Of Conformity
It’s not often that you come across a band that not only has mastered many different styles, but that has inspired entire generations. Truth be told, there really isn’t another band like Corrosion Of Conformity. They were one of the pioneers of the American crossover scene of the 80s, only to, after a short thrash episode, truly find themselves in sludge and stoner metal – though they can still hammer heavy metal of the purest form. Any moment now, we can expect their new, double album, they’ve also unveiled a series of Riffissippi Studio Jam Sessions and just finished touring the US with Judas Priest and Alice Cooper – COC are writing another fascinating chapter of their story, and we’re elated that we get to be part of it.
Coroner
Can one ever follow-up an album as excellent as Grin? Does it even make sense to release a new record after over 30 years of silence? In theory, this could never have worked, but in practice, Coroner have done the impossible on Dissonance Theory. The Swiss masters of progressive thrash recorded one of the best albums of the year – a classic already, resetting the bar of excellence within the genre. How could we not invite them to join the festival – and we are more than honoured that they said yes.
letlive.
The artist and activist Jason Aalon Butler today is mostly known as the leader of the rapcore phenomenon Fever 333, but before that he was the vocalist of a superb post-hardcore formation, letlive. The band released four captivating and thought-provoking records – Speak Like You Talk, Fake History, The Blackest Beautiful and If I’m the Devil… – before disbanding in 2017. Butler, however, reached the conclusion that there is still more to tell in this story and letlive. are now demolishing stages again as only they know how. Words won’t do it justice; you must see it for yourselves.
Djerv
Black metal devotees will know this voice from her guest spells with Dimmu Borgir, gamers – from League of Legends, and steampunk animation fans from the soundtrack of season two of Arcane. But Agnete Kjølsrud is, first and foremost, the charismatic vocalist of the Norwegian band Djerv. On their debut self-titled, and so far, only, album, released in 2011, they imparted their original vision from the intersection of rock and metal, which impressed with its raptorial energy and captivated with its excellent songs. After its release, the band disappeared for a while, but thankfully, they are back now to finish what they started. More...
COC Splits With Bassist Mike Dean
Corrosion Of Conformity bassist and co-founder Mike Dean has announced that he has decided to part ways with the band, after over thirty years since he rejoined the band in 1993. A statement from the musician reads as follows:
“Recently I made a decision to step away from Corrosion Of Conformity, a band started 40 odd years ago by Reed Mullin, Woody Weatherman, and myself. I’m extremely proud of everything we’ve done together, and look forward to hearing more from the band going forward.
"When I rejoined COC for the finishing touches of the “Deliverance” album, I moved back to Raleigh, NC for an all-in creative campaign, but time, distance and side projects and life in general has changed all of that. Ever since Reed drifted away from the band and then passed way, it’s been difficult for me to collaborate on new material with bandmates who live hundreds of miles away.
"I look forward to putting together a new Raleigh based outlet to create new music with more alacrity and with more of an emphasis on my own ideas than in recent times. Also, I look forward to continuing to record and produce other artists.
"All the best to Woodroe, Pepper, and COC crew, and most importantly, many big thanks to the fans of all iterations of the band, who have made this real for all of these years.
"Salute!
Mike Dean

Desertfest London 2023: Day 2
Saturday the 6th of May was an important day for Britain, being the day that the country crowned a new monarch for the first time since 1952 and the country's police cracking down on anyone who vocally opposed the antiquated idea of an unelected figurehead. In the north of the capital, away from these shenanigans, Camden town wasn't just welcoming the usual market visitors, but the returning fans of doom, stoner and desert rock for the second day of DesertFest 2023.
Appropriately, the day started with some real desert rock royalty, as genre pioneers Fatso Jetson got things going in the Electric Ballroom. For those unfamiliar with the group, they're a real family affair, with three members being related and a legacy which spans three decades, welcoming a whole new generation of fans throughout their existence. Like some of the other bands on the bill, Fatso Jetson's strength lies within their music rather than their stage act and they have a really strong vibe about them, which permeates the room. The show became more intriguing when they were joined by former Throw Rag frontman and "desert legend" Sean Wheeler, who exudes charisma, like a hybrid of Nick Cave and Chris Isaak. He stayed with the band for the rest of the set, which was a delight for all fans in attendance and curious onlookers. More...

Ministry Holds Mass At The Fillmore New Orleans
The Fillmore was brimming with excitement. Though Corrosion of Conformity and The Melvins are fairly regular acts in New Orleans, Ministry is not. The industrial outfit’s last visit to the Crescent City was back in 2015. Though the Melvins were not able to make the show, we found out as COC was playing, the show was no less thrilling.
Corrosion of Conformity, complete with guitarist and vocalist Pepper Keenan, had the amazing skill of making that big venue and wide stage feel really small. We were transported to an old, small, smokey bar somewhere in the backwoods of the deep south as they started into their set that began with “Bottom Feeder,” “Paranoid Opioid,” and “Shake Like You.” Woody Weatherman was deep into his guitar and seemed not to even notice anyone else was in the room with him. Mike Dean would get on the mic to help emphasize Pepper’s vocals, but he was also deep in the groove with Woody.
“You guys want to hear some heavy shit.” Asked Pepper to which the audience enthusiastically responded. They ran through their slow, groovy, whiskey-drenched hits “The Door,” “Vote With a Bullet,” and “Wiseblood.” “How many of you guys like to boogie woogie.” Pepper said before launching into COC’s very popular bangers “Born Again for the Last Time,” “Albatross,” and “Clean My Wounds.” Corrosion of Conformity was able to play all of these great songs because The Melvins were not in attendance.
Before Ministry came out, a foreboding chain-link fence was brought out to the stage. It would separate the band from their audience for most of their show. The lights dropped out, and the colors of the Ukrainian flag splashed across the stage. Ministry made it clear that they stand with the brave people of Ukraine during this current onslaught.
_-_03-24-2022/Ministry/Ministry_7021.jpg)
The band powered onto the stage, seeming like wild animals thrown into a cage. They viciously launched into “Breathe,” “The Missing,” and “Deity.” Al Jourgensen spent very little time behind his glowing green cross-laden podium and instead menaced the audience from behind the fence. He would grab onto it and shake it, nearly toppling it at times.
Al also spoke about the band’s history between songs and explained why he wanted to revisit some of their early records for this tour. To explain one aspect of Ministry’s creation, they performed “Supernaut,” a Black Sabbath cover as spacey visuals illuminated them and a sound bite talked about how youths are doing acid. Two more non-Ministry songs came after, this time from the band Pailhead that Al played with in the 1980s: “Don’t Stand In Line” and “Man Should Surrender.”
Al finally picked up a guitar of his own for “N.W.O.” as visuals of flags from many nations flooded the stage. You could feel the floor tremble when people saw their favorite flag and would jump with joy upon seeing it.
Cesar Soto and Monte Pittman’s guitars were tight and precise. Razor sharp. Roy Mayorga’s drums were prominent and clean among the churning guitars. The juxtaposition of this precision with COC’s bluesy, soulful sound was so interesting. This was a lineup where you used both sides of your brain to take it in.
Desertfest UK Announces Lineup Changes
The organisers of the British edition of Desert Fest, which will celebrate it's tenth incarnation next month, have announced that a number of bands have been unable to make it to this year's festival, including Corrosion Of Conformity and The Obsessed. The good news however is that they have booked a number of replacements. A message from the organisers reads as follows:
"Due to circumstances well beyond our control, the following artists are no longer able to perform at DF London ’22: Corrosion of Conformity, The Obsessed/Wino, Khemmis, Somali Yacht Club, Mos Generator, URNE, Shuck.
"We know this news comes as a disappointment however, all is far from lost as we are thrilled to be welcoming 1000mods, Greenleaf, DVNE, Ritual King, Shooting Daggers, Old Horn Tooth & Personal Hell to the bill!
"We hope you understand that touring is still extremely difficult to navigate during these times, with a lot of decisions taken out of our hands. But your continued support of independent live music means everything to us. We cannot wait to see you in a little over a month!
"If you are still after a weekend ticket, the best thing to do is sign up to the DICE waiting list. Or you can nab yourself a Saturday + Sunday (Non-Roundhouse access) combo ticket here.
"More info regarding after-parties, merch + a very exciting reveal of what's going to be on offer down on Greenland Place is all to come.. stay tuned!" More...

The Melvins and Corrosion of Conformity will now appear on all show dates as the tour’s special guests.

Corrosion Of Conformity Drummer Passes Away
Corrosion Of Conformity has announced that drummer Reed Mullin has died at the age of 53. No cause of death has been confirmed as of yet. A post on the band's official website featured a photo of the music with the simple caption, "You are loved Reed," while a longer post on Twitter reads:

C.O.C. Teams Up With Orange Goblin In Cardiff
We all look forward to seeing our favourite bands live in almost any setting. The most special though is when they're part of an impressive touring lineup. This Autumn, North Carolina's legendary Corrosion Of Conformity returned to the United Kingdom for a headlining tour, teaming up with British heavy metal flag bearers Orange Goblin, as well as fellow Americans Fireball Ministry and Yorkshire bred, Black Moth. At the penultimate show of the tour in Cardiff, I had the pleasure of witnessing this stellar combination for myself.
Opening the bill was Black Moth, the youngest band on the trek. While only having a short set, spanning a little over twenty minutes, this stoner metal outfit boast an impressive sound and presence, led by vocalist Harriet Hyde. Not being too familiar with the band, I'm not able to name any of the songs they performed, but Black Moth were good enough to warrant looking up at home afterwards. Better than that, they're a group that deserved to be checked out again when given a longer set. A great way to open the show. More...
