Music Choice Now asked Scott Ian of Anthrax which noble house he'd want to be a part of if he were in the deadly and soul crushing "Game of Thrones," in which anyone you remotely like is never safe, and anyone who is evil to the core will likely never get their just comeuppance. His answer may surprise you - check it out below.
Earlier this year Anthrax contributed the song "Soror Irrumator" to the second installment of "Catch The Throne: The Mixtape" in support of the HBO series adapting George R.R. Martin's fantasy novels.
In other news, Anthrax also recently released "The Devil You Know" bourbon, with full details available here. Anthrax is currently in the final stages of recording the follow up to Grammy-nominated 2011 hit, "Worship Music." The new album is also the recording debut for guitarist and newest band member Jon Donais. More...

In keeping with the goal of finding the "best of the best" for fans regardless of who manufactures it, the members of Anthrax have produced a new bourbon, "The Devil You Know," priced at $59 and available now at this location.
"If we find something we really like and that we actually drink ourselves, we think maybe our fans might like it too, so we want to make it available for them," said Anthrax's Scott Ian. "We really enjoyed 'Indians,' the bourbon we produced last year, and obviously our fans did as well as it sold out really quickly."
Consequently, Anthrax decided to do another round of "taste testing," this time working with Kentucky-based Knob Creek to produce two barrels of a high-end bourbon, "The Devil You Know," now part of the distillery's small batch bourbon collection. Both barrels were aged for nine years, a process that results in a much richer more distinctive taste, and every bottle purchased ships with a card personally autographed by the band.
Anthrax is currently in the final stages of recording the follow up to Grammy-nominated 2011 hit, "Worship Music." The new album is expected out early 2016. More...

It's been a long time coming, but unabashed coffee connoisseur Charlie Benante (Anthrax) has entered the world of entrepreneurship, announcing "Benante's Blend."
The coffee will come in two different varieties: the "Be All End All" blend, which is a dark roast with a real kick, and the "Forever Metal" blend, a milder coffee. You can pick yours up at this location.
"I grew up in a large Italian family and coffee was a daily staple in our home," said Benante. "As a kid, I loved coffee so much, my mother said that at one point, she put some coffee in my bottle. For me, the taste of coffee is one of the greatest tastes that there is on earth, so I decided to create what was for me, the perfect cup of coffee."
This is actually Benante's second foray into the world of coffee. Years ago, he joined up with Dave Mustaine for a line of coffee and coffee products. "I've learned so much since then," said Benante, "especially about selecting and blending the right beans, and how important roasting is."
Benante hooked up with a company that specializes in coffee roasting. "I was pretty specific about the tastes I was looking for," Benante explained. "I told them the type of coffee I wanted, what some of my favorite coffees were, and we built it from there. We combined beans from different regions, Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Sumatra and Africa, and tweaked the amount of time the beans were roasted to get just the right taste. It was a process, I tested a lot of different blends, but it was a lot of fun.
"I love coffee so much," Benante added, "if I could make it a cologne, I would wear it."
In between coffee tastings, Benate has been recording the next Anthrax album due out later this year. The band kicks off leg one of its 2015-2016 global tour on April 24th. More...
Anthrax will begin the set-up of a brand new album when the band hits the road late next month. First up is a six-week-plus North American trek that will include 24-dates with Volbeat, as well as appearances at five major outdoor festivals - Northern Invasion (outside of Minneapolis), Rock On The Range (Columbus, OH), Rocklahoma (Pryor, OK), and the San Antonio and Kansas City Rockfests. Dates start in Denver, CO on April 24 (the complete itinerary is below).
On this first leg, Anthrax will play a "fan favorites" set, comprised of band classics such as "Anti-Social," "Madhouse," "Caught In A Mosh," "I Am The Law" and "Indians." The set will also feature one brand new song, "Soror Irrumator (Lords of The Rock)," Anthrax's contribution to HBO's "Game of Thrones'" "Catch The Throne Mixtape, Vol II."
Anthrax's new album follows the band's 2011 Grammy-nominated "Worship Music." The new album is also the recording debut for guitarist and newest band member Jon Donais. "Jon's been great," said Scott Ian. "So far, he's played lead on at least seven or eight of the tracks, and they all sound amazing."
The writing process for the new album began as far back as late 2013 when Benante began exchanging suggested riffs and other musical ideas with Bello and Ian. With producer (and "sixth member of the band") Jay Ruston, formal writing sessions began last Fall, culminating with about 20 original songs, almost twice as many as the band had ever brought to the recording studio in the past.
Said Bello, "The thing about Anthrax...we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey's powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but I also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like Anthrax, and I think we've done a really good job of that, especially on this new record."
"The lyrics I write tend to go along with the way the music sounds, and this new music is very angry," Ian added. "Lots of people said that 'Worship Music' was a return to the roots of the band...well, this record is even more so. Unlike 'Worship Music,' we wrote this new album with a line-up, with Joey in the band, and that has made all the difference in the world. Joey being a part of the band again, going on five years already, it definitely feels like a unit. Everything that was great about him on 'Worship' is there even more on this new record." More...

Anthrax - which is now in the studio recording a new album - has announced the band's own brand of bourbon, "Indians."
Anthrax has aligned with Jefferson's Bourbon, the Kentucky-based company that produces limited edition small batch whiskeys by blending a variety of aged bourbons and rye whiskeys. Anthrax's "Indians," a single barrel bourbon, was personally chosen by the band and will taste like no other due to its particular blend and the barrel it was aged in.
"We've been wanting to come up with a special item like this, something that was unusual, one-of-a-kind, not a t-shirt or hoodie or poster," said the band's Frank Bello, "and 'Indians' was perfect."
The bourbon is now available exclusively through Atlantic City Bottle Company at this location. "Indians" will be priced at $75 per bottle (in-store pick up) and $100 (shipped to an address) and will come with a signed piece of the stave of the barrel that the bourbon was aged in.
Anthrax - Bello, Charlie Benante, Scott Ian, and Joey Belladonna - lifted "Indians"-filled shot glasses last Friday when the band found out that "Neon Knights," a cover of the Black Sabbath song (from Sabbath's 1980 release, "Heaven and Hell") recorded for the "Ronnie James Dio - This is Your Life" tribute album got the nod in the Grammy Awards Best Metal Performance category.
"It's been an honor everytime we've been nominated," said Anthrax's Benante, "but this one is particularly special. To have been asked to contribute 'Neon Knights' to Ronnie's tribute album was an honor on its own; to have it nominated for a Grammy is just beyond the best." More...
