Below is our complete Melvins news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Housecore Horror Film and Heavy metal festival masterminds, Corey Mitchell and Philip H. Anselmo brought Austin, Texas a rare entertainment opportunity, packaged in human flesh, marred by celluloid cigarette burns--a four-day, multi-stage, multi-tent, multi-everything horror-movie festival. Industry people arrived from all around the world to help support this lofty endeavor.
The gorier the better as many of the major stars of the film portion of the festival had participated in legendary blood spillers such as the "Nekromantik" film series (Director Jörg Buttgereit ), "Coffin Joe" (Director José Mojica Marins ) and "Friday the 13th." Ari Lehman made film history when Jason Voorhees finally sprung to life after the murder of his mother. Lehman attended the festival not only as a film celebrity, but as a musician. Nefarious of Macabre joined Lehman on stage in his First Jason band to perform campy horror metal songs about that guy in the hockey mask. More...
Following the death of EyeHateGod drummer Joey LaCaze, legendary Melvins basher Dale Crover recently volunteered to seize the drum stool for the band's scheduled set at the inaugural Housecore Horror Film Fest later this month.
Joey LaCaze passed away of respiratory failure on August 23rd in New Orleans following the band's five-week Undermining Society's Rules Since 1988 European Tour. LaCaze was 42.
Said the band in a collective statement: "With the recent passing of our longtime friend and drummer, Joey LaCaze, there's no way to pay him a better tribute than EyeHateGod performing alongside one of his main influences and favorite musicians!"
EyeHateGod will level Housecore with Crover on October 27th at Emo's in Austin alongside Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Goblin and more.
The band has also booked an additional handful of live takeovers following the fest including a special Halloween show at the fabled House of Shock in Jefferson, Louisiana. The drummer for those dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Confirmed dates are included below. EyeHateGod was also recently covered in our Sunday Old School column here.

Wheelfall has posted a cover of The Melvins' "Joan of Arc," which can be heard below. The band also comments:
"Prepare to worship at the altar of the HEAVY RIFF. We are very pleased to be able to present the second episode of the Wheelfall's 'Live Studio Sessions.' Only live music is real, no tricks, no cheatings, only the band by itself. Only the truth. This episode featured 'Joan of Arc,' a cover from The Melvins just to pay tribute to this highly influential band. Turn it up and melt into the pavement."
Thriftway is a small grocery store chain here in Washington, one I stop at a couple of times a week for laundry soap or soda. Whenever I'm in the store I can't help but remember that this is where the Melvins got its start. Back in the early eighties, three teens from Montesano High School worked at a Thriftway store over in Greys Harbor County, WA. They despised their shift supervisor, whose name was Melvin. They even named their garage band after him, cranking out the slowest and most wretched riffs to ever hit the alternative rock/early indie metal scene. More...

"We figured it was time for us to do something REALLY crazy," said Osborne. "51 shows in 50 states plus 1 on D.C. and all in 51 days? Jeez! I wonder if we can do it?"
The tour, which will feature the Melvins Lite line-up of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Trevor Dunn, also marks the first time in the band's near 30-year history that they will perform in Alaska, New Hampshire, Delaware and Hawaii. More...
The staff of One Eyed Jacks taped a crude “Sold Out” sign on the door at 6 o’clock. Those hoping to pay at the door were disheartened at the news, but happy for the band that they so quickly sold out the venue. Those with the foresight to purchase ahead crowded the sidewalk beginning at dusk. They blocked the historic sidewalk to the beaded and soused tourist-traffic trying to find their way to the supposed Shangri La of Bourbon Street or away from the intense never-ending party nightmare that it really is. But these eager customers were determined to see something more worthy. More...

There's an ongoing dispute about the sound quality of the Isis/Melvins split LP’s, which label Conspiracy Records claims is inferior. The label commented:
"We’re currently trying to get the pressing company to take their responsibility and after returning records to the pressing plant we are now sending a record to Hydrahead so they can check for themselves and put some pressure on the pressing plant. We’re very sorry for the delay and any inconvenience caused but we’d rather not send out broken records. We’ll keep you updated and will post more news as soon as we have heard back from Hydrahead."
British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden have been confirmed as the headlining act for next year's edition of Australia's Soundwave festival.
