IN THIS MOMENT will spend this summer on Ozzfest 2007 as a part of the second stage's rotating lineup alongside such acclaimed artists as HATEBREED, NILE, THE SHOWDOWN and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, among others. This will be the group's biggest tour yet, and as guitarist Chris Howorth states, it is an opportunity they meet with open arms. "We are very proud and honored to be a part of this year's Ozzfest," he said. "Not only are we huge Ozzy fans and excited to be playing with him every day, but this year's festival is free, so everyone has a chance to come out and be a part of this amazing experience. It's going to be a great chance to reach out to an entirely new audience. We are also looking forward to playing with and getting to know all the rest of the bands on the tour. It's so surreal because not too long ago we were watching the Ozzfest as fans out in the crowd, and now we are performing. It's an unbelievable feeling — we are so blessed!"
The Ozzfest billing is now shaping up as follows:
LAMB OF GOD

UNEARTH were the main attraction at last week's Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theatres launch party in Austin TX.
UNEARTH have recorded the song "THE CHOSEN" for the forthcoming Aqua Teen Hunger Force feature film, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters ( in theaters on 4/13/2007) and the accompanying soundtrack Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters Colon The Soundtrack (in stores on 4/10/2007).
Straight after their stint in Austin, TX, the band headed to Europe to join forces with DAATH, DESPISED ICON, and Metal Blade Record's newest member to the family, JOB FOR A COWBOY on a tour that will lead into late April.
"We are all eager as fuck to headline the UK and Europe for the first time. We have done some amazing European tours before, but it will feel damn good to play a full set and put on our show for our friends overseas" says vocalist, Trevor Phipps "We are hitting up some smaller venues, most without barricades, so we can bring a real Unearth show to the people. We hand picked Job For a Cowboy, Despised Icon and Daath to make sure the entire bill was one that will keep the crowds looking over their shoulders at all times!"
UNEARTH will then make their way back to the US for the highly anticipated tour with DIMMU BORGIR, DEVILDRIVER and KATAKLYSM.
"After the headlining run we come right back home for a North American tour with Dimmu Borgir, Devildriver and Kataklysm. We haven't hit the road with Dimmu since the 2004 Ozzfest, so it will be good to get out there and do it again in a club setting. Devil Driver is always a great band to share the stage with and Kataklysm is one of the best death metal bands around today" enthuses Phipps "This tour is going to be an un-fucking-real diverse clash of heavy music... good times ahead!"

Fresh off supporting THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and From A Second Story Window along with labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY, Massachusetts' THE ACACIA STRAIN has returned home before hitting the road again in January and February. Vocalist Vincent Bennett has offered a bulky band update via the band's MySpace page:
"Hello everyone in heavyland. Vincent here with a large update. We haven't spoken in a while so I figured I'd bring you guys up to speed. The Daniel [Dan Daponde, guitar] has bowed out gracefully. For those of you have been asking about Daniel J. Daponde, here are your answers: due to health problems, Dan has been forced to leave his position as a badass guitar player in The Acacia Strain. We miss him a whole bunch, and we are sure you all do as well. Wish him luck in his future endeavors!"
"We are NOT currently looking for a replacement. Please stop asking. When we do end up looking for another guitarist, we will let you know. For now, here is what you might want to strive for:
1. At LEAST one year of tour experience as a musician
2. Commitment to us and the road, we are never home.
3. A good attitude!
4. Willingness and the ability to write music.
"There is more, but like I said...We aren?t really looking right now. DL [Daniel Laskiewicz] is doing pretty well on his own.
"The tour with Through The Eyes of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, and Light This City was fucking amazing! Thanks to all who came out and had a good time! See you again in January/February! Speaking of which, we are touring in Jan/Feb with Job For A Cowboy, Psyopus, See You Next Tuesday and Daath! DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS. It?s going to be bruuuuuutal. See you there!"

With the February release of their debut album for Roadrunner, The Hinderers, fast approaching, Daath guitarist Eyal Levi had this to say about the results:
"Colin Richardson's mix is, as expected, CRUSHING! Working with him has been a blast and having Andy Sneap re-amp our rhythm guitars is no side note. This album is going to sound like we intended it to!"
Co-produced by Daath and death metal legend, James Murphy (ex-Obituary, Death, Disincarnate, etc.), The Hinderers provides a modern reinvention of classic death and black metal. sound that ruled the scene in the early '90s.
Daath are on tour with Cattle Decapitation, Goatwhore and Lair Of The Minotaur. The band will also be touring with the Acacia Strain in January - complete dates coming soon.

Chris from Psyopus had this comment: "The upcoming tour with Job For a Cowboy, The Acacia Strain, Daath and See You Next Tuesday is going to crush for sure, and we hope to see everyone we have met over the last few months at these shows."
Here's what guitarist Ravi has to say: "We are very proud to be a part of this tour. Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of Atlanta-based extreme metal band, DAATH.
DAATH (pronounced like "Goth," but with a "D") were signed by longtime Roadrunner A&R man Monte Conner. Says Conner: "DAATH fuses elements of cutting-edge death and black metal with expansive orchestral and electronic themes. I haven't signed a death metal band since the early 90's, when that whole scene reached a serious saturation and then stagnation point. But I never stopped following that genre and when DAATH came along, I finally heard a new band who injected originality, excitement and fresh ideas back into that style of music."
The band, featuring Sean Farber (vocals), Michael Kameron (synth, backing vocals), Eyal Levi (guitar), Emil Werstler (guitar), Jeremy Creamer (bass), and Matt Ellis (drums), were brought to Conner's attention via colleague and friend, former Disincarnate/Obituary/Death/Testament guitarist-turned-producer, James Murphy, who took the band into the studio last year to co-produce and mix ten songs.
“The DAATH song-writing team of Eyal Levi and his co-conspirator, composer/lyricist Michael Kameron, are on top of their game,” says Murphy. “After completing the work on these songs, I knew I had something innovative and genre-bending on my hands. These guys have something extra, something special... not your run-of-the-mill death metal formula, but something ‘beyond’ that transcends the norms for the genre. I can’t wait for the world to hear this band and hopefully feel the same renewed enthusiasm for extreme metal as a true art form that I now feel.”
According to Kameron, "DAATH means 'hidden knowledge' in Hebrew and represents the tragic struggle between the instincts and the intellect, the doorway to the abyss of the unconscious mind." Adds Levi, "We explore a vast array of emotional landscapes, at times aggressively exhilarating and at others inwardly reflective." Continues Levi, "Since the beginning we've believed that Roadrunner was the most appropriate label for DAATH. They are the torch bearers for the metal world and we are proud to be joining their family."
DAATH will re-enter the studio with Murphy in May to record five more songs to round out the pool of tracks they will chose from to unleash as their forthcoming Roadrunner debut album, "The Hinderers" - due out this Fall. Besides the title track, some other songs set to appear include "Festival Mass Soulform,"Ovum," "Above Lucium" and "Who Will Take The Blame." Murphy makes a guest appearance on the album as well as former Chimaira/Dying Fetus drummer, Kevin Talley, who tracked drums on two songs.
