Bret Michaels (Poison) is currently in discussions with Executives of American Idol over potentially being a judge for next year’s season. Even for FOX this is a little obvious, why not mix it up and throw Steven Adler (Adler’s Appetite, ex-Guns N Roses) in the mix, sitting next to Ellen (every five minutes whispering in her ear “I like lesbians”). Actually, why not really go for broke and have Adler, soft-spoken Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses), and Ozzy Osbourne as the judges, no one will understand a word which would be a welcomed change. Of course, we keep on Ellen because, well, we do like lesbians… More...
Slash (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver) was recently in Sydney, Australia to launch the new MTV Classic television network. Slash and his wife met up with the young pop princess Justin Bieber who was hoping to have dinner with the guitar legend. Instead of a dinner invite Bieber got more than he bargained when Slash invited him out to a strip club. No news on whether Justin accepted the invite, but the rule is that any time an inappropriate strip club invite is made, it must inspire a column so here we go… More...

Taking a page out of the KISS “How to Market Your Band” book, Def Lepard is moving into the world of cartoons. Here’s a look at a few others that may be in productions soon…

A cartoon of good vs. evil with a lesson taught at the end. The lesson is always we may not like each other, but damn we are good when we work together. More...

The Pulse of Radio reports that BUCKCHERRY will hit the studio in two weeks to begin recording its fourth album and the follow-up to its million-selling 2006 comeback effort, "15". Once the new record is done, the band will jump onto "Crüe Fest," the summer-long package tour headlined by MÖTLEY CRÜE. BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson told The Pulse of Radio why he's looking forward to the trek. "MÖTLEY CRÜE is really one of those bands that I think is so ahead of the curve," he said. "For us to be out on the road with them with this package I think is really cool because you're getting a lot of different rock bands. You're getting a band like us, which I don't think there's anything out there quite like us, and you're getting a band like PAPA ROACH, which I think is probably the best band of the early new millenium bands. Throw in TRAPT, who's great, who's had a lot of success, and the SIXX: A.M. guys, and it's just, it is a rock 'n' roll festival."
"Crüe Fest" will begin on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and hit over 40 cities, closing out on August 31 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 18) or Saturday (April 19), depending on the market.
In addition to the CRÜE and BUCKCHERRY, the lineup will feature PAPA ROACH, TRAPT and CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx's side project, SIXX: A.M.
BUCKCHERRY has not yet announced a release date or title for its next album. The band released "15" just over two years ago, beginning a comeback that saw the band play 300 shows, sell over one million copies of the record, and earn five hit singles after being all but defunct five years ago.
In today's press conference, Mötley Crüe has revealed that this summer they, along with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, SIXX:AM and Trapt, will head out on the road for “Crüe Fest ‘08.” The tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off on July 1st and will hit over 40 major North American and Canadian cities by the end of August. Fans that can’t wait for this weekend's online sale can get their tickets early by going to TheRockvine.com.
On-site activities will include a 2nd “Stage” presented by Rock Band where fans attending the show can play the part of “rock star” while playing the game. A special Crüe Fest CD featuring tracks from all of the bands on the tour will be available exclusively at Best Buy beginning June 17th.
Mötley Crüe also announced the upcoming release of "Saints of Los Angeles," their first new studio album recorded with all of the original band members in over a decade, hitting stores on June 17th. The band premiered the brand new single, “Saints Of Los Angeles," at today's press conference in LA. The song includes backing vocals by Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), James Michael (SIXX:A.M.) and Chris Brown (Trapt). In an industry first, the song was also made available as a download for the Rock Band video game simultaneously with its single release.
Lyrically, the new album follows the story of the band’s NY Times best-selling memoir, "The Dirt," a no-holds-barred tell-all that features every gritty detail of the band’s exploits as one of the world’s biggest rock bands.
