A short video trailer has been released to promote the forthcoming EP from Dayton, Ohio metalcore act The Devil Wears Prada. The new EP, titled "Zombie," is set for release on August 24th, 2010 through Ferret.
You can view the video below:
"ZOMBIE, The EP Comic," a limited-edition, traditional-sized comic book based on the fictionalized adventures of rising metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, bundled with the band's upcoming "Zombie EP" (Ferret), will be available at retail exclusively at all Hot Topic stores for $9.99 beginning August 24. The Zombie bundle can also be ordered on the band's website here and here.
The 14-page "ZOMBIE, The EP Comic" was written by JL Bourne who penned "Day by Day Armageddon - A Zombie Novel," considered one of the best zombie novels ever written, and tells the story of five combat soldiers, armed with a hi-tech arsenal, on a perilous, top-secret mission in a harrowing world infected with zombies. "ZOMBIE, The EP Comic," was illustrated by Kevin Mellon, noted for his 2007 book "GEARHEAD," which is currently in development as a major motion picture.
"We thought doing a comic book as a companion to the 'Zombie EP' was a natural and fitting idea," said the band's vocalist/frontman Mike Hranica, whose concept for a zombie-themed disc was rooted in his having read "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Books late last year. "We love that "ZOMBIE, The EP Comic," is not a CD-booklet, but a full-sized, stylized, superhero comic book that stands on its own."
The Devil Wears Prada is currently on its "Back to the Roots Tour," playing some of the biggest venues of their career, and multiple nights as some of the smallest. Ohio christian metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada have announced details regarding their upcoming EP titled "Zombie" which is due for release on August 24th, 2010 through Ferret Music.
Vocalist Mike Hranica commented by saying:
"Last fall, I was on a real zombie kick, I read 'The Zombie Survival Guide' by Max Brooks, and I thought, 'What if we made a zombie song?' All it took was me just saying that to the band, and we had our hearts set on doing this EP. The sound is definitely The Devil Wears Prada, but so much more"
It's the end of the week and time to check out what new tracks have hit the Rock Band Network again. Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity's vocalist, Mikael Stanne, has checked in with the following report from the road, “Sitting here in beautifully cold Minneapolis trying to get the hangover out of my system. Fargo yesterday was as barren and cold as I remember it from the Cohen brother’s movie. Amazing crowd though and we celebrated accordingly. So far this tour has been amazing for us. We are now two weeks in and we are only just getting started. Amazing venues and huge crowds. Obviously we are struggling with winning over some of the fans of Killswitch Engage and The Devil Wears Prada, but so far I have been positively surprised as to how many are at first skeptical only to two songs in go nuts in the pit. It's a beautiful thing to behold from the stage."
“We have been playing two new songs in the set and they have really got the room moving every single night. I am really looking forward to doing way more of the new album material as we are near release date. Since this is just the start of a very long touring cycle we are really excited to see that the album is getting rave reviews and the friends we've played it to really love it. It seems to generate a lot of heated discussion too, which I view as a good sign. With such a diverse album we are bound to hear all kinds of comments and we always welcome that. Bring on the love/hate fest!”
DARK TRANQUILLITY’s new album, "We Are The Void," is set for a March 9th U.S. release.
Dark Tranquillity has posted another new song, "At the Point of Ignition," on their MySpace page. Listen to it at www.myspace.com/dtofficial
