Single Bullet Theory Drop off Primer 55 Tour

SINGLE BULLET THEORY has pulled out of the upcoming PRIMER 55, LOVE SAID NO, MARC RIZZO tour due to PRIMER 55 bassist Bobby Burns‘ ego getting in the way of things.

A message from the band reads as follows:

“Unfortunately, SBT has to pull off the Primer tour. It seems that egos are running rampant and it would be impossible for us to get on board with this tour as originally planned. SBT has always been a band that is gracious to be opening for any larger artists. We have done several high profile tours as support and have always been nothing but huumbled and respectful.”

"…however"

“It would be impossible for us to go out supporting anyone who actually calls themselves a “Rockstar” and it quotes that it is their personal (not their bands) tour.”

“We were honestly looking forward to getting out on the road with Eric and Bud from Love Said No as well as Marc Rizzo as we are huge fans of their past and present bands, unfortunately a certain person who runs the show (Bobby Burns) made that impossible”

Single Bullet Theory Issue Update

Single Bullet Theory announces album update and post new demos online:

"1) The final of the "killing floor" master as well as the bonus live material has been sent to the label and we will have the official word from them as soon as they sit with it a while. It sounds great and the live shit is CRUSHING! There is a total of 16 tracks on the "The Killing Floor". Without a doubt our best work yet and everyone involved did a fantastic job."

"2) Jason Dunkerley filled in on drums for most of "The Killing Floor" and did a great job as both a drummer and producer for the recording. He also stepped to the plate and did a ton of shows with SBT during late 2006. Jason is featured on the 5 live bonus songs. Jason, thanks bro you rocked!"

"With that news, we are stoked to announce that we now have Johnny Sasso back in sbt. John was the original drummer of sbt and did 4 U.S. tours with the group. He also appeared on Route 666 (crash music 2003) along with the Video for "Murder Machines". Johnny also wrote a majority of the drum parts that were played on 2004's "Behind Eyes of hatred"." Single Bullet Theory Issue Update on New CD

Vocalist/guitarist Matt Difabio of the Philadelphia-based metallers SINGLE BULLET THEORY has issued the following update on the band's current activities:

"As of now, SINGLE BULLET THEORY is finishing all the vocals [for the new album, 'The Killing Floor'] at Angry Chair Studios. The disc is VERY heavy and without a doubt will blow the last one ('Behind Eyes of Hatred') outta the water. We approached the song writing from a completely new approach this time and spent tons of time re-arranging and re working things that didn't fit 100%. There is a lot less experimental shit on the disc and more just balls out heaviness.

"The band has gotten a lot of flak over the years for trying some things that aren't in the 'typical metal' scheme. With this disc, we went back to the drawing board a few times till 'we got it right.'

"Since we have spent so much time trying to get this disc 'perfect,' we felt that it needed a mix that far exceeded anything we have done in the past. Originally, we planned on mixing it ourselves at Angry Chair but we feel we may be selling the disc a little short. So... we have decided that the best man for this job is none other then Eddy Garcia (PISSING RAZORS, MINISTRY). The disc will be sent down to El Paso, Texas in the coming weeks and Eddy will work his magic. Eddy is by far one of the most under-rated producers in metal and without a doubt will make this record stand out. More...

Single Bullet Theory Post New Song Online

A brand new SINGLE BULLET THEORY track, entitled "Sea of Inequity", has been made available for download at this location. It can also be heard online at www.myspace.com/singlebullettheory. "The song is a 'near'-final mix and minor finishing touches are still being made to the recording," the Philadelphia-based metallers write in a press release. "The song is the flagship track and is the first that was written after the bands return home from the AMORPHIS / INTO ETERNITY / BEYOND THE EMBRACE USA tour."

"Sea of Inequity" comes off SINGLE BULLET THEORY's forthcoming disc, "The Killing Floor", due out mid-2006. "The Killing Floor" was produced by SINGLE BULLET THEORY at Angry Chair studios and features 10 "blistering" tracks. Engineering duties were handled by longtime SINGLE BULLET THEORY studio drummer Jason Dunkerley, with additional engineering by Carlos Alverez (SHADOWDANCE). "The record can be best described as a return to the 'Route 666'-era SINGLE BULLET THEORY and is far less experimental then 2004's 'Behind Eyes of Hatred'," according to the band. It is unclear what label will be releasing the disc. However, the band has been in talks with two notable companies and plan on having a deal secured within the next month or so.

Original Single Bullet Theory Drummer Rejoins

Philadelphia's SINGLE BULLET THEORY have re-enlisted original drummer John Sasso to the fold. John was the original SINGLE BULLET THEORY drummer and was best known for his work on the group's 2002 release "Route 666" (Crash Music Inc.).

The band are currently working on 23 new blistering tracks and will begin pre-production at Angry Chair recordings in Glenside, PA sometime in September. SINGLE BULLET THEORY will also be in the studio for an EP, which will feature Jason Dunkerly behind the kit. Single Bullet Theory Album Update, Seeks Drummer

Guitarist Matt DiFabio of Single Bullet Theory has sent out the following message to all fans, and those wondering what the band has been up to in recent weeks - an open appeal has also been issued as the band continues to hunt for a permanent drummer:

"Just wanted to send out an update on what's up with SBT as of late. We are in pre-production for our next yet to be titled release. We have thirteen brand new songs written and are currently in arrangement mode. Thank god for the line 6 rifftracker, the best writing tool I have ever come across."

"All I can say is that this cd is by far our best work to date. With every record, sbt expands our dynamics and I can 100% say that this cd will be no exception. The heavy shit is still very present but there are "hooks" that are infectious."

"The addition of Dan Loughry on guitar has been a breathe of fresh air and his input will without a doubt be a blessing on this next cd. The dude is a monster player and prolly the cleanist rhythm player that i have seen."

"We are still looking for a permanent drummer who can tour. We are working with John Sasso (original sbt drummer on Route 666) as well as Jason Dunkerly (studio drummer who played on behind eyes of hatred) but neither of them can commit to doing this on a full time basis. So, if anyone out there wants a shot, get in touch. thebullettheory@aol.com. Those who live near Philadelphia will be more openly considered. " More...

Report: Into Eternity Show at BBkings, NYC

As I walked into BB kings on March 20th 2005, I wasn’t prepared for the night of madness ahead of me. I see an almost empty room of fans sitting and talking while they wait for the opening act. I was at the front of the line for this show, but the line was short. By the time the first band started playing I looked around to notice if anyone else had come in, they had, but they didn’t feel like standing up front. I felt like I was at a small local club for my friend’s band. Also without a barrier the experience became more intimate. More...
