Known to ruffle a few feathers from time to time, Decrepit Birth's Samus wishes you a happy Hanukkah and just released his latest work of art in the form of a song and video titled "Jewish Metal."
In non-ridiculous news, Decrepit Birth has been working on new material which will be the follow-up to the 2010 release, "Polarity."
Summer Slaughter came in to the same venue, Scoot Inn, as last year's stop off at Texas' capital city. The mid-July temperatures reached a scorching 99 degrees, which everyone from fans to bands did their best to stay hydrated (kudos to Scoot Inn for providing water). Keep in mind, this was still a good 5 degrees cooler than last year.
In regards to the lineup, Summer Slaughter 2014 featured artists expected from a death metal-based tour. This year the brutality of Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Origin and Decrepit Birth replaced the shredding progression of Animals As Leaders and Periphery.
While death metal was at the forefront of this year's festivities, complex timing and long-winded solos were dispersed throughout the bill. Memories In Broken Glass, this year's battle of the bands winner, concentrated less on guitar solos as they did low tuned, (7 or 8-string guitar) jumping rhythms and samples. I'm sure they were happy to have played a showed promoted by Come And Take It Productions as they played in front of an impressive, jumping early crowd. More...

Decrepit Birth recently tapped Gabe Seeber of The Kennedy Veil as a fill-in drummer for the "Hell In July" tour run.
Capital Chaos TV has now posted footage of Decrepit Birth performing live with Gabe at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, California. Check it out below.
Drummer Gabe Seeber of Sacramento's death metal juggernaut The Kennedy Veil will be filling in for Decrepit Birth on the entire "Hell In July" tour run with Six Feet Under and Cannabis Corpse.
With The Kennedy Veil being midway through recording a new full-length and only bass and vocal tracking remaining, Gabe had the time and availability to hit the road while the rest of the band returns to the studio to wrap up the recording process for "Trinity of Falsehood."
Decrepit Birth stated the following via Facebook: "We are pleased to announce that drummer Gabe Seeber (The Kennedy Veil) will be filling in for us during our upcoming tour and and headline festival this July! Due to having such a short amount of time to learn our material, our set at the Homeless One festival will be a bit shorter than expected, but we still promise give you all our absolute best!!! A HUGE thank you to Gabe for busting his ass to keep us going with such short notice!!!"
Recording sessions for "Trinity of Falsehood" officially got underway in June, with Gabe traveling out to NB Recording in Santa Rosa, CA to lay down drum tracks with producer/engineer Nick Botelho. Multi-camera video footage was captured, and studio video updates will eventually make their way online once the band wraps up recording sessions later this month.
"Trinity of Falsehood" is tentatively set to see a release in Late 2013 via Unique Leader Records.
Six Feet Under is currently preparing for a next round of tour dates in support of "Unborn." As previously announced, Decrepit Birth and Cannabis Corpse will be joining Six Feet Under on this tour. Additionally, up-and-coming act Dealey Plaza will open the show.
The tour begins July 10th in Houston, TX and VIP bundles are available now at this location. Bundles include: ticket to the show, Six Feet Under shirt, limited "Hell In July" poster, and a back stage pre-show hang with Chris Barnes.
Six Feet Under founder and vocalist Chris Barnes comments: "Hello, all you sick fucks! Just wanted to say hello and let all you maniacs know what we've got planned for this year. Six Feet Under is about to take to the road once again, starting this month on May 19 in Guadalajara, Mexico for the Heaven and Hell festival. We are very excited to be playing with such greats as Motorhead and Anthrax - two of my all time favorite bands! Also coming up, June 1st we will be in Memphis, TN for the Scion festival with Whitechapel and a whole bunch of other awesome bands, so that's going to be insane, as well. Then, in the middle of June, we will be heading over to Europe for three festival dates. One of which I'm really excited and can't wait to take the stage on: Hellfest in France!! Looking forward to it big time - that date is on June 23, which leads me up to the month of July with our headlining USA tour - Hell in July! Summer tours in the US are always a blast, and this one is set up for sheer devastation with opening bands Decrepit Birth, Cannabis Corpse and Dealey Plaza!
"I would just like to take this time to say and send a personal message to those in Denver, CO as well as Seattle, WA: to Whom it may concern, you may want to stock up and/or possibly grow twice as much cannabis as you have been… because once SFU and Cannabis Corpse roll into those towns, the sheer magnitude of smoking may - 1. Drain the cannabis supply of those two said cities or 2. Possibly cause low cloud formations. Fog lights should be used on all vehicles to and from the concert. More...
Six Feet Under, having just released latest album "Unborn," will soon return to the road for the Hell In July tour.
Joining Six Feet Under on this campaign will be none other than Decrepit Birth and Cannabis Corpse. Hell begins on July 10th in Houston, TX, after which the bands will head west and loop around the US for the final date in Atlanta, GA on July 27th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 29th.
Six Feet Under's latest album, "Unborn," was released on March 19th, and features tracks written in collaboration with Ben Savage (Whitechapel), Jari Laine (Torture Killer), guitarist Ola Englund, and long time member Steve Swanson. After the band's van caught fire while on tour earlier this week, Decrepit Birth has now issued the following statement about having equipment and personal items stolen from the replacement rental van:
"More bad energy has come to us in the form of a theft last night night in San Francisco. Our rental van had the side window broken out and all of our personal bags with cash, laptop computers, cell phones, passports, and id's were stolen.
"This was a major blow to go along with our van catching on fire in Canada and having to leave it there to be junked. At this point we will have to regretfully drop from the last few days of tour. The costs are overwhelming at this point, and to continue on would dig an even deeper hole of debt for the band, which we can't afford.
"We had a great time touring with our brothers in Obituary, Broken Hope, Jungle Rot, and Encrust. These bands were beyond awesome to us during the past week of issues we've gone through.
"Thanks to all the fans for coming out and making this such a great tour aside from the bullshit. We gave it our all every night for you, our fans. We're down but not out....
"If you feel like donating to our new van fund, you can send your donation via Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org. We really appreciate that our fans have reached out to us and offered to help, you guys are the best!" More...
Decrepit Birth is currently on tour with Obituary and Broken Hope, and has now issued the following statement about the band's tour van catching on fire:
"So our tour van caught on fire in Kelowna, BC. And unfortunately we had to leave it there because of the major damage.
"We have since rented a new van and we're trying to continue on with the rest of the tour. Unfortunately, we are going day by day because of the cost of renting the van is so high. Hopefully we can get on with this tour and finish up.
"We need all the support we can get from of fans, and friends. Also big thanks to our brothers in Broken Hope, Obituary and Jungle Rot for helping us out." More...
The Florida death metal ministers in Obituary are set to kick off their first North American headlining tour in over three years this weekend. Brought to you by Rock The Nation and sponsored by Fender, the Carnival Of Death Tour 2012 will commence this Saturday in Orlando, Florida and tear its way through nearly two dozen cities. Further brutality will come from reunited death metallers Broken Hope as well as Decrepit Birth, Jungle Rot, and Encrust.
Obituary is also currently writing the follow up to the "Darkest Day" full-length, released in 2009 via Candlelight Records, with official details to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Carnival Of Death Tour marks Obituary’s first full North American tour run as a four-piece with death metal alumnus Terry Butler (Death, Six Feet Under, Massacre, Denial Fiend) on bass. For this trek, the band — vocalist John Tardy, drummer Donald Tardy, guitarist Trevor Peres and Butler — compiled a special fan-generated set list that will delve deep into the back catalog to include tunes predominantly off the group's first three full-lengths: "Slowly We Rot," "Cause Of Death," and "The End Complete."
Comments Donald Tardy: “We are super excited about the start of the Carnival Of Death Tour. It has been a long time since we toured extensively across the US and Canada. For the first time we went to our fans and asked their help in picking the songs for this ‘classic set’ and it really turned out to be a great set list. Most of these songs we have not played in over a decade and some of them we’ve never performed onstage so the anticipation is killing me! It's was quite the challenge to re-learn songs from 20 years ago but we are ready to blow our old fans away and hopefully gain some new ones. The scene has been set, the fans have selected the songs and the time has come to hit the road and kick off this Carnival.... send in the Clowns!” More...

Decrepit Birth has issued the following brief statement online about missing the last three shows of the Occupation Domination tour:
"We'd like to apologize for missing the last three days of the Occupation Domination tour. We ran into a multitude of issues after the Denver show, and unfortunately we had to end early...
"We'll be back out on the road again soon and plan to make up the missed dates. Hopefully the fans who showed up to those dates will forgive us, and please come see us next time! Thank you."
If you missed the Occupation Domination tour, check out our show report from the New Jersey stop here.
On Sunday, April 22, New Jersey was home for one night to some of the premier death metal bands in the world for the Occupation Domination tour. Featuring the likes of Aborted, Decrepit Birth, Cattle Decapitation, and Origin, this package had something for every fan of death metal. The tour came at the tail-end of a day-long metal festival that was going on at the venue. By the time the first band on the tour package, Battlecross, hit the stage around 6:30, some audience members had been there for almost six hours. That didn’t affect the early bands too much, but the later ones would see how having 12 hours of live metal can impact a crowd. More...
