Evile To Support Exodus This Friday
Earache Records' latest signing EVILE will support EXODUS and BIOMECHANICAL this Friday, November 3 at the Bradford Rio in England. A poster for the show can be found at this location.
EVILE formed two years ago in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, U.K. by brothers Matt Drake (vocals/guitar) and Ol Drake (lead guitar), along with Ben Carter (drums) and Mike Alexander (bass) and have since rapidly picked up a rabid following, eager to enjoy a night of heads-down, no-nonsense thrash.
While unsigned, EVILE were hand-picked to play two prestigious U.K. festivals in the summer of 2006 — Bloodstock Open Air and most recently, Damnation Festival — both to great acclaim from fans. Now the band will spend the rest of the year gigging far and wide, and expect to record and release their debut album on Earache early in 2007. Meanwhile, check out EVILE's demo and pictures at its MySpace page.

More Bands Confirmed For Damnation Festival
UK HARDCORE legends STAMPIN' GROUND, no-frills bastards MURDER ONE and black metallers THE AXIS OF PERDITION will bolster the British contingent ripping up DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2006 this October 15, in Manchester.
They will be joined by three of the UK’s finest rising acts; muscle-bound groove metallers HEAD-ON, extreme metalcore from London in the shape of KINGSIZE BLUES and exciting thrash upstarts EVILE.
"Damnation has the reputation of being THE alternative UK metal festival," says Head-On frontman Mark Logan, "so when we were asked to play it was an absolute no-brainer.
"We are pretty damn stoked about playing and you can be sure we will be bringing the meat, the beer, the suplexes, the beards and the fucking RIFFS. Roll on October!"
The Kingsize Blues boys are full of promise too: "Damnation festival, HELL YEAH! - Thats the shit we're talking about.
"A homegrown festival for pure homegrown talent ... and Kingsize Blues like it homegrown!
"Grab a fuckin beer, roll yourself a joint and get your jubblies out, we're gonna eat the fucking place alive!"
Having persisted for over a decade, Stampin' Ground's aggressive, no-nonsense metal has earned them a loyal following and a reputation for packing one of the most explosive live shows around.
They'll join a Jagermeister sponsored stage already boasting metal warriors BIOMECHANICAL and zombie crew SEND MORE PARAMEDICS; as will Murder One, a dirty, raucous blast of satisfyingly unpleasant noise featuring the vocal talents of Raging Speedhorn’s returning Damnation veteran John Loughlin.
Catering for those with a more extreme palette, The Axis of Perdition are the first band announced for the Terrorizer stage.
The confirmation of the self-proclaimed "British cinematic industrial black metal" horde is a huge coup for the festival and an exciting opportunity for fans and newcomers alike to catch a rare experience.
Last year's sell out Damnation, marked by stunning performances from Raging Speedhorn, Entombed, Sikth and Gorerotted, was a shot in the arm for homegrown metal.
A remarkable top four finish in Terrorizer magazine's worldwide "Biggest Musical Event" poll followed, and in the aftermath Virtual Festivals declared: "The true face of underground UK metal has finally clawed its way onto the festival scene, leaving a wound that no amount of imported US and Euro talent can plaster over."
The second instalment of UK-focussed metal will again take place across two stages in Manchester's Jilly's Rockworld and Music Box.
The main stage will be sponsored by our new partners JAGERMEISTER, surely the most rock n roll drink on the planet; while TERRORIZER magazine will once again support the extreme stage.
Festival spokesman Gavin McInally added: “The bands on board so far are a pick of the best the UK has to offer and we are confident of adding more prestigious names.
“By the time tickets go on sale we expect to have announced an extreme and diverse bill of talent which won’t be matched in the UK scene.”
Tickets for Damnation Festival 2006 are priced £15 and will be on sale in April. For further information about the event, visit damnationfestival.co.uk or e-mail: enquiries@damnationfestival.co.uk
