70000 Tons of Metal - The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise

(Lone) Wolf & Cub

Formed: 2004
From: Chicago, IL, United States
Last Known Status: Active

Lone) Wolf & Cub evolved from two bands: La Mantra De Fhiqria and Dakota / Dakota. La Mantra embraced the D.I.Y. underground hardcore ethic of bands like Yaphet Kotto, Reversal Of Man, Combatwoundedveteran, and My Lai while Dakota / Dakota enamored its listeners with thick instrumental arrangements utilized by bands like Don Caballero and Sweep The Leg Johnny. Both bands didn't play metal, and that was a problem. Singer Tim Murphy, guitarist Rick Leech, and bassist Dave Miller of La Mantra joined guitarist Mike Sullivan and drummer Jim Myers of Dakota / Dakota and agreed that life doesn't matter if you're not in a metal band. Wolf & Cub started playing shows in May of 2004 and quickly drew crowds by playing with bands like Usurp Synapse, Tusk, and Daughters.
