Bloodbound Debuts "The Nine Crusades" Lyric Video
Having ridden into their latest battle with their eleventh epic full-length "Field Of Swords," Swedish power metal warriors Bloodbound have released another video single from the album. "The Nine Crusades" is another historically themed anthem, retelling the titular events in typical Bloodbound style: a sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal. Joining their conquest is powerhouse vocalist Brittney Slayes of Canadian band Unleash The Archers, dueting with Patrik J. Selleby in a glorious mid-tempo anthem. Not only is “The Nine Crusades” the perfect album closer, but also a powerful herald of what’s to come.
Bloodbound are currently getting ready to share their new songs live. Starting March 12 in Hamburg, they will be on tour supporting label mates Angus McSix, with additional support from Brainstorm. Their run will take them to eleven cities, ending in Eindhoven on March 22. Following, Bloodbound will play European festivals, including mountainous Full Metal Mayrhofen, organized by Wacken Open Air, and Alcatraz Festival in Belgium. Find the full list of dates below!
Fredrik Bergh about "The Nine Crusades":
"The major part of this song was actually written by myself and Tomas back in 2018, and it was written especially for the band Sabaton! Joakim Brodén from Sabaton liked the rough demo and wanted to work further on this song together with us, but the collaboration never materialized. I have always felt it was a very strong track, so we decided to record the song ourselves for the new album instead. I am super proud of this song. I feel it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever been involved in writing! The song features the great Brittney Slayes from Unleash The Archers, who sings the song as a duet together with Patrik." More...
Bloodbound Reveals New Live Album Details
2024 marks twenty years of Bloodbound. Twenty years in which the Swedish power metal export has left a lasting impression on fans and the worldwide metal scene. The band can call ten studio albums their own, as well as numerous frenetically-acclaimed festival appearances and tours. Last year alone, the band played a major gig at Masters of Rock Festival, which is featured on their upcoming anniversary live album and Blu-Ray, entitled "The Tales Of Nosferatu - Two Decades Of Blood (2004 - 2024)!" Due out on April 19, 2024 via powerhouse label AFM Records, the pre-sale is now available here.
With songs like "Nosferatu," "The Warlock's Trail," "Battle In The Sky", or new songs of the band's discography like "Drink With The Gods," Bloodbound – who were formed in 2004 by keyboard player Fredrik Bergh and guitarist Tomas Olsson – have quickly established their sound in the world of heavy music. Not only because of their immense talent, but also because of their own affiliation to the metal scene, a dedication that comes with it and the skills to write incredibly good power metal songs.
"What a ride it has been! 10 studio albums, shows in over 25 countries and chart entries from all over the world. When I look back at the last 20 years, I can only say how proud I am of what we have created!" Fredrik Bergh comments. "We're super excited to celebrate 20 years of Bloodbound with this release - together with YOU - our fans! Without you we're nothing!"
In support, Bloodbound are now premiering a single taken off "The Tales Of Nosferatu - Two Decades Of Blood". The anniversary live version of the band's classic "The Warlock's Trail," out now and can be seen below. More...
Bloodbound Shares "Tales From The North" Video
Swedish power metal masters Bloodbound are currently gearing up for the release of their much-awaited, new studio offering entitled "Tales From The North." The band's tenth album will be coming out as a 2-CD digipak including a live CD, a strictly limited box set and coloured vinyl LPs on July 7, 2023 through AFM Records.
When it comes to defending the core values of timeless power metal and combining them with fresh stylistic variations and exciting stories, Bloodbound have always been fighting at the forefront. The six-piece has proven their versatility and inventiveness countless times. Following their much acclaimed, 2021-album, "Creatures Of The Dark Realm," "Tales From The North" will unquestionably continue to enthrall the metal community! As lead guitarist Tomas Olsson recently said:
"The songs are more fast-paced and closer to some of our earlier stuff like ’Moria’ and ’Nosferatu’, but have more complex arrangements. Compared to the predecessor 'Creatures Of The Dark Realm‘ there are heavier guitars and some deeper sounding keyboards. We have also incorporated some traditional Nordic folk music instruments to fit the concept of the album about the Viking era. It's still pure power metal but we’re trying to take it to the next level."
Following four previously-released album singles, "Odin’s Prayer", “The Raven's Cry", "1066" and "Drink with the Gods", today, Bloodbound are presenting a music video for the album title track "Tales From The North!"
Olsson comments: "This song is about the foundation of Norse mythology and cosmology. It describes the 9 worlds of Asgard and how the god Heimdall, who was the keeper and protector of bifrost (the rainbow bridge) could see everything. He carried all the stories and tales from the north. Musically the inspiration goes back to the old Helloween era." More...
Bloodbound Releases "1066" Lyric Video
This summer, on July 7, 2023, Swedish power metal force Bloodbound will release their hotly-anticipated, new studio offering "Tales From The North!" Bloodbound To Release New Album In July
When it comes to defending the core values of timeless power metal and combining them with fresh stylistic variations and exciting stories, Swedish power metallers Bloodbound have always been fighting at the forefront. With nine studio albums in 16 years under their belt, the six-piece has proven their versatility and inventiveness countless times. Following the much acclaimed, latest record "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" (2021, AFM Records), Bloodbound have announced the release of their upcoming masterpiece, entitled "Tales From The North!"
"’Tales From The North’ is very much a concept album about the viking era. About the lives of our ancestors up here in the dark, cold and unfriendly environments of the north," explains lead guitarist Tomas Olsson and summarizes the content of their eleven songs: "Different legends and myths intertwine during the course of the songs, leading up to the epic battle of 1066, which marks the end of the viking era."
Those who already know the sound of Bloodbound can imagine the metallic force the band employs to evoke this story. "Tales From The North" will be released on July 7, 2023 via AFM/Soulfood as a 2-CD digipak including a live CD. As a special treat, it will also be released as a strictly limited box set as well as coloured vinyl LPs. More...
Bloodbound Postpones 2022 Tour Dates
Things must to get back to normal at some point, or so it was said last year: Swedish power metal force Bloodbound announced their upcoming tour for March 2022. The trek would see the band play 13 shows in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Belgium. The tour is now being rescheduled to March 2023.
The band released their ninth studio album "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" in May 2021 via AFM Records. To still celebrate their latest record, the Swedes are moving their Tour Of The Dark Realm to next year. The package remains unchanged as support comes from their label colleagues Arion, plus newcomers Metalite and Veonity
"We were looking forward to this tour for months. We were full of hope for things to change for better until the last minute," says the band. "We have been looking at the situation carefully during the last few weeks of course, though. We have been in contact with the promoters all the time. And we reached a point a week ago or so where we had to accept that the venues in some countries we're going to play are still looking at some restrictions. We've had to make the super hard decision to postpone the tour. To say this is a downer would be the understatement of the year. The good news is, we're happy to share that we have managed to keep the package what it is, and we are even more looking forward to hitting the road with our friends Arion, Metalite and Veonity. Stay safe and we will see you in March 2023!"

Bloodbound Posts New Lyric Video Online
May 28th will see Swedish power metal force, Bloodbound, release their hotly anticipated, ninth studio album entitled "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" via AFM Records. "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" descends with scarcely two years gone since "Rise Of The Dragon Empire" was unleashed. The three-headed songwriting team of keyboardist Fredrik Bergh, guitarist Tomas Olsson and vocalist Patrik Selleby started from scratch, compiling song ideas they collected individually and finally ending up with 11 solid in-your-face tracks kicked off by a deceptive acoustic intro. On paper, "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" satisfies all the requirements of what makes a power metal band, but the listening experience is one of epic proportions. Not a single ballad in sight, the new album is an-up-tempo assault, offering heavy groove anthems and straight ahead, blistering power metal at its best!
After the previously- released singles, "When Fate Is Calling" as well as just recently, the epic album title track, today the Swedish six- piece has unleashed a lyric video for the heavy as hell, new single "March Into War!" More...
Bloodbound Posts New Music Video Online
The curtain has been fallen; an epic, modern and dynamic 2nd single "Creatures Of The Dark Realm" is heralding homonymous album's release in 2021. Patric's experienced vocals and the stunning interaction between guitars and keyboards laying down hymn-like themes on a solid and power-driven rhythm section.
After the last album "Rise Of The Dragon Empire" Bloodbound raise the stakes even higher this time, new album 'Creatures Of The Dark Realm' is coming on 28th May and sets out to outshine their predecessors.
When Swedish power metal band Bloodbound surfaced in 2005 with their debut album, "Nosferatu", it was an album that celebrated the band's admiration for metal icons like Iron Maiden, Helloween and Judas Priest, recorded on a small budget with no visions of grandeur behind it. With eight studio albums, a live record and an EP under their belts since then, Bloodbound have returned in 2021 with album #9, "Creatures Of The Dark Realm", and a renewed drive to take the band even further.
