NEHMF 2005 Live Report

It’s that time of year again- birds are chirping, trees are blossoming, the city’s Crowne Plaza Hotel is bombarded with numerous metal parties. And, of course, the local businesses in Worcester, MA hand out flyers that read “Dear metalheads (!!!), if you’re wondering where to get drunk tonight, come to our pub”.

It’s the New England Metal Fest weekend, which was held on April 22-24 and welcomed fans from all corners of the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and even UK. Probably the biggest and best festival on this side of the Atlantic. At least this year’s. Cephalic Carnage #1 On Canadian Metal/Punk Radio

CEPHALIC CARNAGE have landed the number one position on this week's Canadian Campus Radio Charts, on the strength of their single, "Dying Will be the Death of Me", and their new album, "Anomalies".

The Canadian Campus Radio Charts are the most comprehensive source for all alternative charts in Canada, including weekly college radio top 50 based on Canadian college radio airplay, as well as, alternative retail sales and five different specialty charts (electronic, metal, hip-hop, jazz and world) updated weekly. "Anomalies", the Denver, Colorado quintet's critically acclaimed fourth full-length release, was released on March 15. The album currently occupies the number six position on the CMJ Loud Rock chart.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE will hit the road for a string of dates with DEAD TO FALL beginning April 21 in St. Louis, MO. Immediately following, the band will team up with SHADOWS FALL, TERROR and ZAO beginning May 1 in Ft. Wayne, IN. The band will then play a number of east coast dates concluding with an appearance at the WKDU Festival on May 10 in Philadelphia alongside labelmates DYSRHYTHMIA.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE and VOMIT REMNANTS are no longer on the bill for the Maryland Death Fest 2005, which is set to take place May 28th and 29th at the Thunderdome in Baltimore, MD. Replacing them on the bill is MISERY INDEX and PIG DESTROYER.

Bloodshoteye Continue Tour Despite Loss of Drummer

Following the unannounced departure of their drummer 4 days prior to 3 major shows, Bloodshoteye got their friend Mike LePrieur to fill in for the Toronto show. Patrice Hamelin of Martyr will sit behind the drumkit for the Quebec and Montreal shows. BSE has already begun looking for a permanent replacement.
