Castle Denied Entry To Croatia

Castle has been out on tour with The Atlas Moth and Intronaut, and the band has now checked in with the following statement about being denied entry to Croatia:

"It was to our great regret that we were denied entry yesterday into Croatia at the Hungarian/Croatian border. Castle, along with the Atlas Moth and Intronaut tried for several hours and two different border crossings to gain entry to play the show but were denied finally.

"Even if we were to pay our way into the country in lieu of the paperwork needed they could not guarantee our equipment would have safe passage out of the country. We had been looking forward to this show more than any other on our European tour and are greatly pissed that we could not play for the metal maniacs from Zagreb and beyond. We hope to make it back next time.

"After spending the entire night driving around Croatia we've arrived in Italy for the show tonight at Taun in Fidenza, then on to Milan tomorrow..." More...

Bewilderbiest Changes Name, Posts New Song Online

New doom metal band, Bewilderbiest, featuring various members of other well known metal bands, has changed its name to Bereft. The band has also uploaded the song "Withered Efflorescence" to its new Facebook page for streaming.

"This will give everyone a taste of what this band is about; dark, depressing, doom," commented vocalist/guitarist Charles Elliott. "Definitely different from what we do in our usual bands. It's heavy as hell and we're all really proud how the record and collaboration came out, and we hope people feel the same way."

"On this particular track Sacha and Derek D. worked together on the music while Derek R. and I worked on the lyrics. I've always envisioned vocal tradeoffs with Sacha on this one, ever since the demo he sent me years ago, so that's what you hear on the chorus."

"This project has been on the back burner since 2008, so we hope people enjoy finally listening to it as much as we do. Come check out our first show ever at The Handbag Factory this month in Los Angeles!"

Bereft is made up of Sacha Dunable on guitar (Intronaut, Graviton), Derek Donley on drums (National Sunday Law, Graviton), Charles Elliott on vocals and guitar (Abysmal Dawn) and Derek Rydquist on bass (ex-The Faceless).

The debut album from BEREFT was recorded and mixed by drummer Derek Donley. Mastering has handled by Brian Elliott (EXHUMED, DYING FETUS) at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL.

The band has one upcoming shows scheduled at the moment:

9/30 The Handbag Factory - Los Angeles, CA
