Andromeda Releases Live Footage

The Swedish progressive metallers in Andromeda were headlining the biggest rock festivals in Vietnam last December/January, playing for over 50,000 people at stadiums in Hanoi, Saigon, and Can Tho.

The band is planning a DVD release later this year, but will also uploaded performances from the release online every week. The first track to be released will be "Lies 'R' Us," taken from latest album "Manifest Tyranny," which can be seen below.

Andromeda To Reissue First Two Albums

Inner Wound Recordings will re-release the classic albums "II = I" (originally released in 2003) and "Chimera" (originally released in 2006) from Swedish progressive metal act Andromeda. The release dates are set for January 21st (North America) and January 24th (Europe). Both albums are remastered and contain liner notes written by Andromeda guitar player Johan Reinholdz.

Damnation Angels Announces European Tour

U.K. based symphonic metal act Damnation Angels announced that they will embark on the band's first ever tour of Europe with Andromeda and Until Rain. The tour kicks off on November 15th in Copenhagen. The band is also working on the new album "The Valiant Fire," which is tentatively set for an April 2014 release. One new track was debuted at the band's recent performance at ProgPower USA in Atlanta back on September 6th.

Andromeda Launches "Preemptive Strike" Video

Swedish act Andromeda has released a music video for the track "Preemptive Strike" online, which can be viewed below. "Preemptive Strike" is the opening track off the up-coming Anromeda album "Manifest Tyranny."

The album will be released on November 25th in Europe through Inner Wound Recordings and in North America on November 21st through Nightmare Records. "Preemptive Strike" was directed and produced by Patrik Ekeblom and Axel Persson for Holy Smoke Production.

Andromeda Reveals "Manifest Tyranny" Details

Sweden's Andromeda will release the new album "Manifest Tyranny" on November 25th in Europe through Inner Wound Recordings and in North America on November 21st through Nightmare Records.

The album will be released as a regular CD version, in digital formats, as well as a very exclusive wooden box edition strictly limited to 400 copies worldwide. A digital single for the track "Lies ’R’ Us" will be released on October 28th.

Prog Sphere Offers Free "Generation Prog" Sampler

Andromeda Signs To Inner Wound Recordings

Inner Wound Recordings has checked in with the following announcement about signing a deal with Sweden's Andromeda:

"Inner Wound Recordings is proud to announce the signing of the Swedish progressive metal band Andromeda to the label for their up-coming album, scheduled for a late 2011 release. More details regarding this album will be made official during the coming month.

After several disappointing weeks with less variety in the metal department, this Friday's roundup of new Rock Band Network tracks includes offerings from Amberian Dawn, Black Guard, Ill Nino, Indestructible Noise Command, and Otep. This Friday sees a few new rock and metal tracks hitting the Rock Band Network just in time for the weekend. The Xbox 360 version gets kicked into high gear with more Amberian Dawn, Andromeda, and Nightshade. On April 26th the PS3 also gets new music from Taproot, Wretched, and Sister Sin.

Christmas Metal 2010 Roundup

Another Christmas is just around the corner, which means jolly fat men in red suits scaring the bejeesus out of crying children and uncomfortable dinners with family members who don't actually like each other. Christmas isn't just caroling and spiked egg nog though, it's also another opportunity to rock out with some metal steeped in the holiday spirit. We already gave Christmas the metal treatment with a list of the top 10 most metal light shows, as well a new edition of the Rockstar Ramblings describing what aging rockers really want to get under the tree. Slipknot front man Corey Taylor also recently posted a Christmas music video here. Gojira Announces Only UK Show For 2010

GOJIRA has announced that its only show in the United Kingdom will be its act on the Bloodstock Open Air Festival bill. Although GOJIRA has stated it will be playing more shows in the US, no new tour dates have been released as of yet. The current Bloodstock Open Air Festival lineup is as follows:

Headliners Confirmed For Bloodstock Open Air

The organisers of Britain's Bloodstock Open Air festival has announced that Finnish heavy metal outfit Children Of Bodom and industrial metal legends Fear Factory will be headlining the 2010 edition of the event.

Children Of Bodom's Alexi Laiho comments: "I'm really glad we're playing Bloodstock next year – it's the only UK show for us in 2010, and the crowd over there has been awesome for us lately!"

Cannibal Corpse Confirmed For Bloodstock 2010

American death metal legends Cannibal Corpse has announced that they will be performing at next years edition of England's Bloodstock Open Air festival. Fans will want to be attending this event as it will be the bands only show in the United Kingdom in 2010. The festival will be taking place between August 13th and August 15th at the Catton Hall in Derbyshire.

Cannibal Corpse drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz stated: "We are extremely excited to be playing Bloodstock! It will be our first ever festival appearance in the UK and we can't wait to tear it up for the masses!"
